Action:

[Honoka has made her way into various parts of the city, exploring it with her two pokémon. She's handing out the fruit off of Tropius's neck to anyone willing to take one. She also looks a little lost, and exhausted as she's just gotten into town not too long ago. She's been eating, but not what she wants to eat- and if you've got something tasty looking that isn't fruit, she's creepily staring at you, longing to have some herself. One little bite of that would be so great.

So much that she'll walk up to you and ask you where you got it after a time.]

[Now, after she's gotten a little bit to eat and sat down for a bit to rest from traveling, she turns the Warp Band on. The scene around her is of the sun starting to set, sitting on a park bench. Tropius is laying down next to the bench. Happiny sits in her lap, looking cheerful as ever, but tired.]

Hi! My name is Honoka, and I know none of you may know me yet but I have a favor to ask. I just got here from Caldera, and I don't have a place to stay yet... and I don't want to live out on the street! I would just need a few days, I promise I'll have something set up by then!

[Yeah Honoka's not going out past the forest for a little bit so Umi is pretty brave in her eyes.]

But there a lot of dangerous pokemon out there. Next time you go, we should go together.

While that's true, that's why I have a pokémon companion of my own.

It doesn't have to be just for protection. [She smiles at Umi.

It might be icky out there, but I wouldn't mind.

[Umi sighs. Yeah, she really doesn't like it out here. Why did this particular Pokémon have to live in the swamp?]

Yeah, it doesn't look nice at all out there... [It's not her choice of place to explore, but if that's what Umi wants to do she guesses.]

But you've got to be out there for a reason, right?

I'm searching for a particular Pokémon. [Which she may never find, for all she knows.]

[She blinks a few times. That's definitely not a pokémon she'd put in the list of cute things.]

Why would you want one of those?

[And a different color?] Are those hard to find?

Its typing would make a valuable asset to my team.

Oddly colored Pokémon are extremely rare.

[She's never gone out to look before, and probably didn't pay all that much attention in class about it...]

Well, what color is it? The rare one? [That might make up for how not pretty the original pokemon is.] And does the typing matter that much?

I'm...not sure, honestly. I expect it'll be noticeable when I finally find one.

It's extremely important when it comes to battling.

Battling? [She looks down for a second. Yeah. Umi's right. If it weren't for the ones that really knew their stuff, Caldera would have been done for.]

Can I ask you something, even though we've only just met?

For self defense. [Because she knows damn well it's dangerous to go alone. Wild Pokémon, Gigas troops, you just never know what you could run into.]

I never really paid attention much to it before the attack, but...would you teach me more about typings? I'm not very good at it, and I'd much rather spend my time having fun and eating...

But it's important! And I want to get better.

[That's like, basic stuff! If Honoka really doesn't know and she's at least willing to learn, Umi will give it a shot. But why does she feel like she's going to regret it.]

Oh, thank you! I mean, I did learn! I just didn't pay that much attention! Water is weak to Electric, and Fire is weak to water and...

[She kind of trails off...]

Say you're stranded in the wilderness, faced with a very aggressive Pokémon. If you don't know your types, their advantages, and their weaknesses, what would you do?

I'd try to talk to it! And if that didn't work...I would run away!
