Where: The Tropical Island
What: The end of summer is quickly approaching, get your last bit of summer fun in now!
Warnings: Beach episode shenanigans.

Bright sun, warm sands, rolling waves, the tropical island was the place to be. With the new port making travel out much easier, the island was seeing a surge in tourism. Something about fighting giant fiery gods must have made people eager to jump into the water and relax.

"All right. Try to be more careful in the future, okay?"

Asemu didn't mean to come off as scolding. It's just that...well, he was almost spiked in the face.

She sighs, shaking her head, looking somewhere between guilty and irritated; she's just young and just immature enough to not like being scolded (despite not being that different in age from Asemu, but a difference in upbringing can be all the difference in the world). "Yeah. Sorry about that. No harm done, right?"

"Right." Asemu tried to soften his expression after that.

"I haven't seen you around before. Is this your first time out this way?"

Hers softened a bit in turn. Estelle might be quick to anger, but she is also quick to let things go. She smiles, then nods.

"Mm-hmm!" she murmurs, energetically. "I'm from Caldera, so... it's kinda far away from here."

"That makes sense. I've been there many times now, myself."

That was certainly an understatement. In fact, he had helped the city fend off Gigas's invasion a few months ago.

"I'm from Union. We first discovered this island back in about March or so."

She didn't say as much -- it felt silly to continually thank Union for their assistance -- but she grateful for that. She smiles at him, then she nods, eagerly.

"Yeah!" she says. "I've been here... uh, I guess about a week. Here's Union. I'm a Seeker. I joined the Calderan branch, but I came to Union to help this one get started."

"Oh, right. I'd heard there was a new type of job." Asemu thought for a moment, but was coming up blank on one key aspect.

"Um...can you remind me what you guys do again?"

"We uncover the truth about the past!" Estelle says, with a proud nod of her head. "By exploring ruins and gathering information, and paving the way with adventure and protecting the innocent!"

Some of these things aren't like the other.

Asemu paused. He couldn't help but think that that sounded like the kind of spiel a person would find on a recruitment poster.

"So do you work with the Swords of the Savior or something?" He knew that they didn't seem to work with the Ranger Corps, at least.

"N-Nooooo," Estelle says, "it's with the Seekers. We're our own group! It's a big organization, with bases in other cities, and everything!" She tilts her head, looking at him, and thinks about it for a second. "I mean, we could work with all of those guys. We just haven't yet."

"So then what's the protecting the innocent thing?"

She clinches a fist, proudly. "People can appreciate the past better if they're not scared about the present!"

"I suppose so. But right now, I'd say there's not much to be scared about."

"What about Gigas?" she asks.

Asemu looked out toward the sea. "We've proven they're beatable. Not neutralized, but we can at least be confident."

"Caldera's fought them for a long time. And war's taken a big toll on us, over the years," Estelle says. "You're tough, but... it's gonna need us all to be really tough."
