10.5 - [Video, in Poke-speak]

[When the feed clicks on, a serpentine body is obscuring most of the camera’s view. There’s a curious peep a split-second later, and then Huzar the Dragonair is leaning back to stare at the Warp Band, head tilted slightly to the side.]

Did we do it? Is it going?

[Blossom, a dainty-looking Leafeon, pads a little bit closer.]

It’s making the noise and the light. That must mean its awake and we can talk to it.

Okay!

[Huzar beams, but quickly grows more serious, wrapping herself into a coil and narrowing her eyes. Like her trainer, she’s the sort to cut to the chase without much in the way of preamble, or basic etiquette.]

The thing is, we’re worried our mom and dad are trying to replace us.

You see, everyone keeps telling us that humans don’t lay eggs, but that makes no sense. Our dads had us from eggs. And now...

[Blossom sounds positively ominous, and she is pacing back and forth before the camera like the Bad Cop questioning a particularily reluctant miscreant.]

They’ve been acting weird and wanting all this time alone, and now look!

[In a flash, Huzar uncoils and disappears, only to return with an egg rolling in front of her.]

See?! We told you!

And now they’re alone again, and we’re not babies you know. We know that it’s a mating thing. So does that mean there’s going to be even more?

[Look, she loves her family, but just how many other pokémon is she supposed to share Fai with, exactly? What if he completely forgets about her after a while?]

Since when do humans make sense? My human's parents don't like his mate because they say they can't have babies together, even though they obviously have us.

[Tama's still young yet-- but, this must be the difference between a Human-raised Pokemon and a Habitat-raised Pokemon. He had no misunderstandings about his relationship with his human, and it certainly wasn't like that of a parent and their child.]

That doesn't make sense either, [He said simply, knowing better than to make an enemy out of the Leafeon.]

[That, and there's the fact that these two have been spoiled rotten by their humans, who also have more or less treated them as if they're their precious babies. Oh, and their contemporaries are either severely confused about human mating as well, or just so grossed out / embarrassed / uninterested that they'd rather not ever discuss it.]

Right? It definitely doesn't. Like the fact that they're both male humans matters at all. They love each other, so obviously they can still be parents.

[Perhaps not biologically, but who was counting when everyone hatched from eggs?

Except humans, if the rumors were true. Apparently they just made really little, hairless humans. Weird, huh?]

Family is whoever takes care of you-- those humans are really weird if they don't know that.

They're stupid humans, and they're mean.

But they're not your family, so they're not important.

They're kind of? Since they're Dad's parents.

But they don't live with you, do they?

Does that make a difference?

That means they're not teaching you much about anything, so they're not important enough for you to worry about.
