First Dive | Video
[The camera wobbled in and out of focus for anyone who happened to tune in that morning, and close observers would catch a glimpse of movement-- of trees, and of a very curious pair of eyes, glimmering in excitement, peering into the feed.]
--Tama-san, [A voice, a young man, said in an almost chiding tone.] I know you're excited, but you don't need to hang. all. over. me.
[He swung his arms, trying to free himself from from Tama's grip, but the momentum of the movement threatened to throw the both of them off balance.
Defeated, Rei stopped and sighed wearily.]
Alright, we can stop for a snack, although you'll lose your appetite at this--
[He broke off mid-complaint, eye widening when he noticed that the camera feed was live.
The moment of surprise, however, was short lived. Rei fussed with his glasses, suddenly adopting a cool, composed demeanor now that he realized that he had been noticed.]
Don't worry-- nothing's going on. We know exactly what we're doing.
[--The composed aura didn't last for long. A Mantyke, still young, fully appeared on screen and tackled the young man.
...Clearly, it didn't want lunch. It wanted to play.]

Hey, if you knew he was young, why didn't you think he was gonna act like it? Honestly, man. What else would he act like? Kids will be kids, pokemon or not.

I wasn't sure what to expect. There wasn't enough time for me to adequately research Pokemon before Tama-san and I met, but that's something we can fix easily enough if I can just do some thorough reading without the pages being ruined before I can finish the book.
[Tama flapped his fins, smacking Rei in the face in the process. His human did far too much reading for his tastes-- it was boring!]

Hah, well maybe you should do less research and more living with them.
[At that, a Magnemite just sort of appears there in the feed, doing a lazy orbit of Yuuna's head.]
They've got quirks and desires the same as people. Like Zedd here, for some reason, does this.

[Totally grinning like a fool, Yuuna reaches up and runs a hand along her little satellite's rounded back.]

Tamago-san's mine, [Rei admitted, absently stroking one of the baby ray's fins as he spoke. Promptly, he smiled.]
My name's Rei. Tama-san and I only met a week or so ago, so this is all still new for me.

Actually, we were on our way to do some shopping for supplies before we did anything. I've been studying the basics of wilderness survival since we met, and I have memorized the concepts...but, Tama-san's a little impatient.

That sounds like an excellent idea, Yuuna-san. I'll research all the books I can find before we meet, so you've got nothing to worry about when we travel together.
[He'd also need to make arrangements with his teachers....how did academics work when you had a pokemon who wanted to explore everything?]
