Open House
[ACTION]
[With the theater season officially open, the Divine Theater has little else do with the summer but prepare for next season's jam-packed schedule. However, preparation doesn't really bring in money, so, as they do every summer, the Divine Theater has opened its doors to summer classes! There is even word that those students who excel might even be considered for staff next season!
The first class is free in the hopes that they will bring in new students, in the hopes that people will sign up for more. The offerings are rather diverse.
Acting classes, both beginning and advanced; music lessons for singers and instrumentalists; conducting classes; beginning and advanced sewing and costume design; makeup; theater tech and lighting; beginning and advanced dance classes; stage fighting and choreography, just to name a few. There's a little bit of something for everyone here. The front desk ladies have even taken it upon themselves to start their very own beginner accounting class. It's cute, you should check it out
For those working around the theater, it was a busy time--maybe even more than when they were putting on productions. Cleaning to do, classes to help out with, and, of course, making sure any students don't go down secret hallways labeled "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" that totally aren't hiding their super secret base of operations nope nothing here to see folks.
Are you teaching? Attending? Helping out? Maybe just curious?]

[Chie's grip is strong and confident even though she's never done this before. And it would perhaps not be surprising that her hand would be a little cold and sweaty right now considering how she's feeling.
Instead, though, there's no sweat at all and her hand is closer to the temperature of a cold drink. Not freezing by any means, but definitely a little on the chilly side. Sorry, Maki - Chie forgot to mention that she's half Ice type.]
no subject
Are you sick Chie? Your hands are so cold. Have you seen a doctor?
no subject
[Chie glances down at her hand, blinking for a moment before looking back at Maki's face. She's blushing a little more fiercely than might otherwise be expected, since the temperature change from the blood flow to her face is far more evident from her Ice typing.]
Oh... that. I'm okay. It's because I'm part Ice type. My temperature runs a little cold ever since I evolved a few weeks ago.
[And then there's an awkward smile.]
Sorry about that. It's not a problem, is it?
no subject
No, it's fine.. [ Without even realizing it, Maki just answers with what she thinks sounds the most polite. But even if her words are polite, her tone reveals that perhaps she isn't 100% comfortable with the news, even if it's actually her own insecurities leaking through. ]
no subject
Okay... if it gets too cold, just let me know, all right?
[She can sense that there's something up by Maki's tone, but Chie figures there's probably a reason she's not saying more, so she's just going to take her at face value for the time being.]
All right, so I guess we move like this first, right?
[Chie reaches out to put her other hand on Maki's hip before slowly moving to the music.]
no subject
It's fine, it's not that cold..
[ Turning her head away from Chie to look at their two teachers, Maki tries to see where Michiru has her hands on Haruka. It only makes sense to follow the girl she actually knows.
Maki goes a little stiff at the hand on her hip though, because that's where her Purrloin tail is wrapped around her. She just hopes that Chie doesn't notice, which of course makes her steps a little awkward. ]
no subject
[With a last awkward laugh, Chie starts moving along with the beat as best she can, stepping forward and doing her best not to step on Maki's feet. This may be met with mixed success considering Chie's inexperience and the fact that Maki is a little distracted. On the upside, she's distracted enough with trying to get the dance right that she doesn't notice the tail at all.]
One, two, three...
no subject
Ah, sorry, that was your foot.. [ Maki hits her foot against Chie's and lifts it quickly, trying to make sure they don't trip. Beneath her hat, her ears wiggle though in frustration, as Maki tries harder to concentrate. ]
no subject
Whoops! Sorry...
[There's a bit of a stumble from Chie too, and she pauses to steady herself, her eyes flicking up briefly to those hidden ears.]
You okay?
no subject
We just have to move more in sync, that's what it looked like Michiru was doing.. [ Only, Maki can't quite "sparkle" like the two of them. She can pull Chie a little closer though, trying to emulate the teachers better. ]
You can move you hand a little lower too. [ Except of course, that would put Chie's hand right on her tail, and would make her jump if Chie touched it so directly. ]
no subject
[Except a couple of unfortunate things happen when Maki pulls her closer. One, Chie sneezes again now that her face is closer to the cat hair hiding underneath that hat. And two, as that first thing is happening, Chie's hand pushes a little more firmly than she'd originally intended right up against Maki's tail as she shifts it down.]
no subject
Ahh...
no subject
[And Chie tumbles right down on top of her, quickly lifting herself up and off the other girl and looking quite embarrassed about it.]
M-Maki, I'm sorry, I didn't-
[...But she stops short as she sees those ears, just blinking at them.]
no subject
D-Don't look! [ Maki's hands quickly go to her head, trying to head those ears as best she can. ]
no subject
[Chie sharply glances... well, somewhere. Somewhere not at Maki's head or her face or anything. In her preoccupation with not looking at her, though, she hasn't quite realized that she's still sort of half on top of her.]
I didn't see anything!
no subject
Because there's nothing to see!
no subject
[And now she realizes she's still on top of her. Blushing and rolling quickly to the side, Chie stammers incoherently for a few moments.]
...a-and nothing!
no subject
[ At the moment Maki is probably causing a disruption in the class, and she sort of hates herself for it, but she can't get over the fact that Chie saw what she didn't want her to. The only thing she can do is reach underneath her for her hat and tug it back on quickly, before getting to her feet and turning away from Chie. ]
I-I should probably just leave...
no subject
[Chie frowns, glancing awkwardly down at the ground for a moment, but her attention snaps back up to Maki's face at that last thing.]
Wait! Hang on. I'll walk you back.
no subject
[ Even though Maki was baiting out that answer, she still manages to look at Chie like she is some sort of liar. She's not even mad, just embarrassed that her secret is out. ]
N-No, it's fine you don't have to!
[ Maki's already going to her bag that she brought with her, trying not to imagine the eyes on her, judging her, staring at her, wondering what she is. ]
no subject
It's okay...
[She didn't bring anything along with her, so she just walks out of the theater ahead of Maki and waits outside. She's hoping they can talk a little once they're away from the crowd, as she really doesn't want things to end with hurt feelings.]
no subject
I-I told you that you didn't have to come outside!
[ And yet, even though she's not mad at Chie, she can't help from lashing out a little, trying to push her away. ]
no subject
[Chie's feeling really guilty right now, and it shows in the smile she's trying to manage. She doesn't even resist being pushed, just stumbling back before taking a step forward again.]
And I could tell you were embarrassed, so I thought it'd be better to come out here to do it.
no subject
[ Maki hates herself, seeing how far Chie is going to be friendly, and how she can't just stop pushing her away, figuratively. Chie didn't even do anything wrong, it's herself that Maki's mad at. ]
These ears...I know you saw them. I never wanted them, I never wanted to become like a Pokemon..
no subject
[Chie blinks curiously. She honestly doesn't see what the big deal is.]
You really don't like Pokemon, do you?
