Open House

[With the theater season officially open, the Divine Theater has little else do with the summer but prepare for next season's jam-packed schedule. However, preparation doesn't really bring in money, so, as they do every summer, the Divine Theater has opened its doors to summer classes! There is even word that those students who excel might even be considered for staff next season!

The first class is free in the hopes that they will bring in new students, in the hopes that people will sign up for more. The offerings are rather diverse.

Acting classes, both beginning and advanced; music lessons for singers and instrumentalists; conducting classes; beginning and advanced sewing and costume design; makeup; theater tech and lighting; beginning and advanced dance classes; stage fighting and choreography, just to name a few. There's a little bit of something for everyone here. The front desk ladies have even taken it upon themselves to start their very own beginner accounting class. ~~It's cute, you should check it out~~

For those working around the theater, it was a busy time--maybe even more than when they were putting on productions. Cleaning to do, classes to help out with, and, of course, making sure any students don't go down secret hallways labeled "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" that totally aren't hiding their super secret base of operations nope nothing here to see folks.

[ For a moment Cubchoo can't believe this is happening. Her? Hold the...hold the baby...?

Well, she can't keep Michiru waiting, so she hurriedly wipes her paws on her scarf just in case and then reaches up to accept the child. Oh goodness. Oh, she must not mess this up. Oh, she's getting to hold the baby. Her knees are weak.

But she can do this. It is a demonstration of her fortitude. ] Cubchoo!

[there you go, have a baby. She's not particularly heavy, but she's still a warm weight.

And Michiru starts putting away her violin, apparently with full confidence in Sky's ability to hold an egg for thirty second without mishap.

...she's totally ready to whirl around at a moment's notice and grab the baby at the slightest hint of a sneeze, however.]

Cub. Chooo. Cub. Chooo. [ Cubchoo rocks the baby gently, trying not to breathe. She won't sneeze. She won't.

Of course, thinking such thoughts gives her a little tickle in her nose. ] Cubbb----

[ Nono. Nonononono. She is going to master this! Cubchoo may be up on her tiptoes, and her face may be scrunched up in a very unladylike fashion, but she holds firm. She is not going to disrupt Michiru's baby! If it's the last thing she does!

If Michiru does turn around, she'll even see that Cubchoo has her cheeks puffed out in an attempt to control that sneeze. But it's working. ]

[the violin case closes with a quiet snick and Michiru turns towards Sky.

Oh geez. That's kind of cute, but she'll save the bear by gently lifting the eggbaby out of her paws.]

Thank you. I knew you could do it. [despite any inner misgivings. And that's a smile she saves for her Pokemon when they do something right.]

[ Bye-bye, baby. Sky watches as the Togepi is gently lifted back where it belongs, and then - oh. Oh, that's such a beautiful smile. And it was for her! Because she did well! She did well!

She's so excited she nearly loses control and sneezes. But she slaps a paw over her mouth halfway through, so hopefully it won't disturb baby too much. Just mortifies her. ] Chhooooh!

[Michiru hides a smile, settling the baby back in her arm and handing a handkerchief to the bear.] Bless you.

[and no, she doesn't really want it back]

Choo. [ Cubchoo accepts the handkerchief and folds it carefully after using it. She'll launder it with her own two paws before returning it. This is only polite.

And then someone speaks up from the doorway. How long has she been standing there?? Cubchoo has no way of knowing. ] You're getting reckless.

[she tucks the plushie under an arm and picks up her violin with her free hand]

I'm surrounded by bad influences, it seems. [psh, she had it under control.

Are they both cutting class now?]

[ Haruka laughs and lets herself in all the way. Her class let out early. And by "let out early" she means "nobody was actually there to learn stage fighting, they just wanted Haruka to approach them from behind to whisper instructions into their ears". She told them to break to consider if they really were serious about acting and the people who were sincere should come back in 10 minutes.

Which is totally enough time to go track down Michiru, right? ] How'd she do?

Cub! [ Cubchoo puts a paw to her lips, tugging on Haruka's pant leg. Baby is sleeping. Please, if she isn't imposing with her request, don't forget to keep that husky voice of yours down even further. ]

Admirably. The baby didn't even wake up once. [heh]

[ Heh to you too. Except she'll direct hers at Cubchoo. You tried hard, didn't you, kid? Cubchoo flushes and steps aside, letting go of Haruka's pant leg. This frees Haruka up to walk in step with Michiru wherever she's headed. ] No takers for the class either, then.

[ ....Given what she was confronted with, that sounds pretty nice. No, she's being petty. She should stop. ]

[she's just heading back to their rooms to put away some things. Maybe avoid all that noise and fuss.]

We can't all have fun, can we? [nope, she's perfectly okay with this, to be honest.]

[ Haruka laughs at that but it almost turns into a sigh. She's not going to complain. It's petty, and silly, and she should take what she gets. ] You could always drop in on mine if you're bored.

[ Cubchoo follows them, sniffling slightly. No, this is when ladies use their handkerchief. She dabs at her nose and tries to stay out of the conversation. After the face she pulled holding the baby, she has to be extra demure. ]

I always thought one needed focus in order to teach a class. [and if you've got the time to sigh, you can open the door for her.

...oh Sky. It doesn't really negate like that.]

You're an unruly student? [ Such shock. Such disappointment. Not.

Cubchoo is a good student, Trainer! Oh, wait, she's supposed to be quiet. ] Choo.

It's hardly my fault if the instructor can't hold my attention.

[right?]

Sounds like you need to learn discipline.

[ Cubchoo is beginning to wonder whether she should be here. ]

There aren't many who could make the lesson stick.

[once they're there, the violin goes in its usual spot and baby goes in ~~the baby cage~~ a nest of blankets, along with the plush within easy reach.]

Try me.

[ There's a pair of hands waiting to rest on your hips as soon as you're done looking after that baby, Michiru. And a bear who has decided it's time to try and find a blanket for baby, yes, a very good idea....is there one over here? ] Cubchoo. Cub. Choo.

[heh. And she's leaning back into you, turning her head and glancing up.] In what context?

[...perhaps Sky would make a pretty good babysitter. Maybe.]

[ Well, if you're going to tip your head like that, she might as well thumb your chin a little. Her other hand's going to stay right where she placed it, though. ] I wonder.

[ Seriously, Haruka should start thinking about heading back to her class. But she doubts there's going to be anyone there. She's got time.

Meanwhile, Cubchoo found a blanket! And there are only three leaves attached to it! She manages to extract two successfully, gets the third stuck to her paw, shakes it in the air, then decides she will dislodge it later. Must give the blanket to baby first. ] Cub....

[ She wanders over slowly, holding the blanket up to keep it from dragging on the floor. If she telegraphs what she's doing very obviously, perhaps she will be stopped if it's not okay for her to look after baby (or if baby doesn't need another blanket). Interrupting to inquire directly seems...inappropriate. ]

[that just gets a smirk, even as she places a hand over the one on her hip, leaving her other arm curled around her torso.] I thought you were supposed to be demonstrating your focus?

[like for your class.

Sky will have to judge for herself! ~~Michiru is distracted~~ but it looks like eggbaby is currently snuggling into the plushie, sans blanket.]

[ ....how does she walk herself right into these things. Haruka doesn't let it disturb her cool, though. See, proof of focus. Right there. ] Warmups. Come with me and you learn the real thing.

[ Hmm. Baby has a plush, which it clearly likes, and does already look comfortable. But what if snuggling like that means it's cold? Then Cubchoo would be doing it a disservice by getting the blanket this far only to decide against it...

In the end, however, she brought this blanket over to put it on the baby. Not putting it on the baby would make her look ridiculous. So Cubchoo lifts it up into the baby's bed and very, very carefully tucks the blanket around the sleeping child. She even tucks it around the plushie so baby can sleep with her stuffed friend. There. Nice and maternal. She feels pretty pleased with herself. ] Cub.

[ Sweet dreams, baby. She will wipe her nose silently as she steps back. You're so cute. ]

Tempting. [real fake fighting or real focus? Because she likes it better when the latter is directed towards her.

Either way, she's terrible at resisting you.] Are you offering a babysitter?

[Sky seems to be doing okay, and Lulu is probably around somewhere.]

Choo! [ She's been caught! Cubchoo jumps a bit, then has to stifle a cough: she swallowed her sniffle. She hopes she's not in trouble. Or, can it be that Michiru knew the whole time she was looking after the baby....?

Haruka laughs. ] Come on. We'd better go mother some humans.

[ If you're okay with her babysitter, she'll accept the commission. It's good for the bear to learn to play nicely with others, even if those others are tiny. Maybe even "especially". Cubchoo is a hard, independent worker. She's getting there.

One handkerchief at a time. ]

if she promises to hold on reaal tight, because energizer baby isn't good at remembering her rider

eggbaby isn't quite sure what's going on but she totally promises!!! (but michiru might panic)

so would haruka if she saw it about to happen. she likes her skin attached to her body.
