The Battle for Caldera
The time for action is at hand, and the players have been set in place. Those who choose to make an attempt at diplomacy head off at the appointed time to meet with Valeria, the clerk and representative of the general who leads the Gigas army. Those who wish to take more direct action against Gigas leave with General Ironbrand to put their plans into motion. In the meantime, the refugees continue to stream into Union, while supplies are gathered and flow the other way.
The outcome of this war may very well depend on the combined results of these four efforts…
((This log will be a catch-all for all four efforts of the attempt to save Caldera. There will be four different parts of this post: Diplomacy, Aggression, Refugees, and Supplies. The first two should be well established, but the Refugees portion will encompass bringing those in Caldera who require help to Union and giving them medical aid and care, while the Supplies portion will encompass people in Union setting up shelters and gathering resources to send back to Caldera, as well as other miscellaneous tasks that may be of help. Gathering resources may entail leaving Union to explore out in other areas. You all signed up for groups, so please try to maintain these groups when posting, particularly to the Diplomacy and Aggression sections. The other two may be more free-form.
Mods will be responding at least once every 24 hours to keep the logs moving.
EDIT 5/31: Please try to group up if possible! We'll generally try to wait for threads to have 2-3 people before we jump in. Threads with 3+ may attract the attention of something a little more... interesting.))

Give 'em a Barrage!
[The Exeggcute agree in unison, opening fire on the humans. Meanwhile, Feliks reaches for his warp band, and a Gardevoir appears, seeming for a moment to descend from the sky into the mist. She doesn't waste time with orders--she instantly knows her trainer is fighting, and a look around shows there's a strong Rock-type, and that's all she needs to unleash a glowing burst of Magical Leaf towards the Golem.]

With the mix between the confusions, Round, and Barrage the remaining soldiers had little time to retreat or commence their attack. They will fall once the Razor Wind hits, having only brought out their weapons and not their Pokemon yet. However, it isn't over yet as three reinforcements come. It's not much, but all three are packed not with swords but with guns and three new Pokemon at their side: Bisharp, Gengar, and Houndoom.
After seeing the damage the Gengar is told to us its own Hypnosis on the group, while Houndoom launches a Flamethower and Bisharp stands in a defense position. All while their trainers being to shoot. ]

[Jadwiga gets hit by the Flamethrower attack, but that isn't enough to distract her. The trainers have deadly weapons and deadly intent, and besides, a Houndoom is all but harmless to her trainer. Priorities. Focusing on the nearest trainer with a gun, determined to protect her friends, she puts all she has into a powerful Psychic attack. You do not threaten Feliks around her.]
[A bullet strikes the earth in between Oberek the Exeggcute's different eggs; all of them leap up in surprise, talking among themselves for a few moments before angrily returning fire towards whoever's nearest with Bullet Seed.]

[Knowing that command as well, the Donphan uncurls, raising it's trunk as it uses Odor Sleuth. However, Luxray doesn't like the annoyance of Hypnosis and uses Roar. Sync meanwhile opens his wings and flaps as he dodges aside; they are more for helping him maneuver at this stage than true flight after all. He also starts gathering up a lot of energy in one of his fist and black particles start rolling off. He's waiting for a chance to get close enough to try the Curse Slot though, guns aren't something he ever expected to deal with.]
Do something about the Bisharp and the guns.
[His Ninetails responses by using Will-O-Wisp, and waiting for a chance to follow with Hex, very unperturbed even with the guns. Meanwhile, his Talonflame preps for it's own Razor Wind and Crobat uses Air Cutter at the new trio of soldiers.]
skip my next turn; i'll be busy all of tomorrow!
[Sandshrew completes her Dig, tunnelling out right beneath the group of soldiers to strike swiftly. Seeing the amount of reinforcements, however, she hastily burrows back into the ground, at the same time kicking up a large amount of dirt in a Sand Attack, adding to the confusion.]
[Behind the group, the sound of singing stops as Jigglypuff succumbs to the Hypnosis. Although he's concerned about the loss of a fighter, Jade doesn't allow himself to grow distracted. He doesn't even glance back to check on his Pokemon.]

The Air Cutter causes their aim to become much more inaccurate as for a moment they shoot at the sky instead of the group. The sand attack and confuse ray adds to the confusion and there is little that can currently do while Bisharp gets hit by the will-o-wisp follows by Hex. Same that Houndoom couldn't take that for it, but it counters with a Dark Pulse. ]

[Feliks, meanwhile, is still focused on taking that Bisharp down. He emerges from his cover to throw another fire-type attack at it, focusing as hard as he can on intensifying the flames.]

[A blue Tyrantrum emerges with a loud roar, and Jade quickly instructs it to set up a Stealth Rock around the Bisharp, guessing that it won't be much longer before it goes down. With his Enlightened abilities of Mastery of Battle, the Stealth Rock is sure to do at least some damage to whatever Pokemon replaces it.]
[There's a rumble under his feet as Sandshrew emerges, shaking the sand from her head. Jade doesn't give her any time to rest.]
Take down the Hounddoom.
[He had long since drilled knowledge of type weaknesses into his Pokemon's heads, and Sandshrew immediately launches a Sand Tomb at the Hounddoom. Meanwhile, Duskull focuses on the Haunter, attacking quickly with Shadow Sneak. Although he had also been hurt by the Dark Pulse, it wasn't enough for him to faint, and he presses doggedly on.]

Hastily, the soldiers who could move tried to get away, while the other soldiers simply remained there unconscious.
(OOC: Sorry for the later. I'll be sure that the awards you all receive make up for this). ]

[Even Jadwiga smiles a little bit at Feliks's enthusiasm--she's more even-tempered than him, not so quick to start fights, but it's hard not to get swept along with his emotions. Oberek bounce around a little, trying to send some Stun Spore after the soldiers who attempt to flee... in spite of the Misty Terrain. Look, he's not always the cleverest egg in the carton.]
[Feliks wastes no time in advancing. It's the same as fighting the bullies outside the school, he thinks--hit them back, keep hitting back and they back off. Only there's a lot more of them than just these guys, so they have to keep going until they get the point, right? He scoops up Oberek and nods for Jadwiga to follow him.]
I'm gonna run up and check if there's more coming! We'll give you a heads-up if there are.
[And he runs ahead a bit, leaving Jade and Sync alone with the soldiers, on the lookout for more troops or anything that looks in need of a little sabotage.]

Did you even break a sweat?
[He did, though he doesn't plan on speaking about it; his wings ached from the sudden exercise and he had to try using them more anyway to make sure they could hold up on a longer fight. His Talonflame perched on his arm, lowering his head a few times to indicate he wanted down on the ground to use Roost. Setting him down, he finally turns to actually look and see if Jade heard him, or left, or somehow had been injured in the chaos.]
no subject
[His levity fades, however, when he takes in the scene around them. With a quick command, he sends his Pokemon after Feliks, aside from Tyrantrum and the still-sleeping Jigglypuff, who are sent back to the Habitat.]
You must be as well, if you aren't going after Feliks.
[He doesn't want to follow him until they're finished here. Not that they'll have much time; the soldiers who had fled must be planning to go get reinforcements. He had thought about pursuing them, but the area is still unfamiliar to him, and it would be too easy for the soldiers to give him the slip.]
[Spear in hand, he approaches one of the fallen soldiers - the one that had first mentioned 'Formation E', if he's not mistaken - an intent expression on his face.]

[The moment feels oddly normal, which puts him on edge. His history with Jade had taught him that when things appeared the most normal, something was about to happen.
True to fashion, Sync watches the older man approach one of the soldiers with his spear.]
...What are you doing?
[As he asks, he sends his own Pokémon back to the habitat; he had suspicions it was best they weren't around for the explanation if he got one. Jade also wasn't the type to explain his thoughts or actions, he recalled.]
no subject
Ensuring that he won't wake when I search him.
[He thinks it's necessary, thinks it's foolish that the Union has taken such a hard stance against killing when their enemies don't hesitate to use lethal force, but perhaps he's the one in the wrong here. What he does know is that they can't risk having the soldier make any noise at all, and killing is the easiest way to be certain of that.]
no subject
[But to Sync, it made so much sense to at the same time; they were going to kill them without a second thought if the tables were turned. This must have been how they managed to not have so much resistance. He looks down at the fallen soldier and contemplates for a few quick seconds that feel like an eternity.]
You shouldn't get caught, at least.
[He wasn't approving or disproving because now he didn't know what to think. This man might have family, but Sync knew he had family as well, and a bullet would have stopped him from seeing them ever again.]
...It'll need to look like a total accident or the body will have to be hid, Union won't forgive a killing.
[By this point, the teen isn't sure if he's helping his uncle or just trying to listen reasons why not to; it's all sounding the same.]
no subject
I'll have to risk it.
[He doesn't think word of this will reach the Union; the mist would have made it impossible to identify them, and besides, it's just as likely that the Calderans would have been responsible for the killing. Besides, spending too long on subterfuge would defeat their purpose entirely. They have to be away from this place as soon as he can.]
[With perfect calm, Jade lifts his spear, pointing the tip of it at the soldier's neck. He takes a second to gauge the position of the carotid artery before he stabs down in one precise, fluid strike.]
