The Battle for Caldera
The time for action is at hand, and the players have been set in place. Those who choose to make an attempt at diplomacy head off at the appointed time to meet with Valeria, the clerk and representative of the general who leads the Gigas army. Those who wish to take more direct action against Gigas leave with General Ironbrand to put their plans into motion. In the meantime, the refugees continue to stream into Union, while supplies are gathered and flow the other way.
The outcome of this war may very well depend on the combined results of these four efforts…
((This log will be a catch-all for all four efforts of the attempt to save Caldera. There will be four different parts of this post: Diplomacy, Aggression, Refugees, and Supplies. The first two should be well established, but the Refugees portion will encompass bringing those in Caldera who require help to Union and giving them medical aid and care, while the Supplies portion will encompass people in Union setting up shelters and gathering resources to send back to Caldera, as well as other miscellaneous tasks that may be of help. Gathering resources may entail leaving Union to explore out in other areas. You all signed up for groups, so please try to maintain these groups when posting, particularly to the Diplomacy and Aggression sections. The other two may be more free-form.
Mods will be responding at least once every 24 hours to keep the logs moving.
EDIT 5/31: Please try to group up if possible! We'll generally try to wait for threads to have 2-3 people before we jump in. Threads with 3+ may attract the attention of something a little more... interesting.))

Yes - just like that, deep breaths, and focus on our task, it'll calm the nerves.

[As Chie is talking, a particularly observant and smart child who happened to see that chilly air puff from her mouth walks up and gently takes her hand.]
Mama, she's nice and cool!
no subject
How long have I...? I suppose I joined when I was about your age, so five - six years? I wanted to follow my cousin Garen.

[Chie smiles down at the little kid, squeezing his hand briefly.]
no subject
[He chuckles]
It seems you're pretty good with children.
no subject
[A big ball of energy, this one. She puts on a sheepish little smile at the comment about children.]
I'm pretty popular in hot weather, I guess. Ice type and all.
no subject
E-Excuse me...
Are you... Are you the ones from the other city?
no subject
We are - is something the matter, Miss?
no subject
[Chie looks down at the kid holding onto her hand, patting him on the shoulder and quietly sending him back to his mother.]

[She wrings her hands, her breath coming in shallower gasps.]
I can't find my daughter. She's very curious and she wanted to talk to you and I looked away for a moment a-and -- it's been two hours already.
[The woman looks like she's about to faint.]
Could she have been taken back to your city by accident?
no subject
It might be possible - with the crowds we've been escorting, it wouldn't be difficult to get separated. Could you give us a description of your daughter?

"Her name is Florrie. ...It's Florence, but she only likes being called Florrie. She's about this tall -- " A hand up around chest level. "She's 11, and she has brown hair down to about her shoulders. She was wearing a green dress."
She tries to keep her voice calm.
"There's a wild Pokemon who follows her around - a little bird, orange and red. They might be together."
no subject
[Chie is fully prepared to accept a 'no' answer, but she's also aware that she needs to ask permission in the first place.]

The woman will dig around in her pockets and hold out a pack to them.
"If you find her... this was supposed to be her lunch today. Please hurry...!"
no subject
Morgiana took the lunchbox, then held out her hand to Chie, who as far as she knows, cannot fly and might need a boost. She was more interested in her friend's opinion on matters Ky's, rightful authority or not.
"Are you coming?"
no subject
no subject
[Chie nods back to Ky before taking Morgiana's hand.]
We'll be back as soon as we find her!
no subject
She shakes her head and watches as the two women go off.
"You are the commander of these forces? I can't thank you enough for what you're doing..."
In the meantime, as Chie and Morgiana head off, they'll be met with what seems to be a terribly difficult task. The city below them is filled with smoking wreckage and throngs of people - refugees heading for the Warp, soldiers heading the other direction. Finding a small child is hardly going to be a simple task. It may very well be that spending so much effort on one single person is a waste of time.
...Maybe they should just eat the food in the lunch pack and forget it.
no subject
She stood on top of what had once been a restaurant of some kind but was now abandoned and looked across the sea of humanity beyond.
"This will be difficult."
no subject
[Chie frowns down at the crowd.]
We'll have to be really careful. If we get caught, it'll be bad.
no subject
"It's no trouble at all, we are here to help everyone that we can." And he can't imply ignore anyone in distress.
no subject
They can talk to the Union people closer to the warp back home to see if anyone's matched that description. They can try and find some native Pokemon to see if they know anything about red and orange birds running around the city. They can try to use a Pokemon to track her down by scent, given that they now possess her lunchbox.
Or they can just eat the lunch it's cool.
The woman will pause for a moment before responding.
"We've... never even heard of you before. It's like a miracle from out of nowhere..."
