The Battle for Caldera
The time for action is at hand, and the players have been set in place. Those who choose to make an attempt at diplomacy head off at the appointed time to meet with Valeria, the clerk and representative of the general who leads the Gigas army. Those who wish to take more direct action against Gigas leave with General Ironbrand to put their plans into motion. In the meantime, the refugees continue to stream into Union, while supplies are gathered and flow the other way.
The outcome of this war may very well depend on the combined results of these four efforts…
((This log will be a catch-all for all four efforts of the attempt to save Caldera. There will be four different parts of this post: Diplomacy, Aggression, Refugees, and Supplies. The first two should be well established, but the Refugees portion will encompass bringing those in Caldera who require help to Union and giving them medical aid and care, while the Supplies portion will encompass people in Union setting up shelters and gathering resources to send back to Caldera, as well as other miscellaneous tasks that may be of help. Gathering resources may entail leaving Union to explore out in other areas. You all signed up for groups, so please try to maintain these groups when posting, particularly to the Diplomacy and Aggression sections. The other two may be more free-form.
Mods will be responding at least once every 24 hours to keep the logs moving.
EDIT 5/31: Please try to group up if possible! We'll generally try to wait for threads to have 2-3 people before we jump in. Threads with 3+ may attract the attention of something a little more... interesting.))

The Medical Center is full up and the doctors are treating as many people as they can... We don't have any more supplies to give. Even if everyone starts making more...
[He looks disheartened.]

[Red walked up, blinking and pointing at Kanji, flanked by his Charizard.]
Are you Kanji? I remember you from the mines, we didn't get to introduce ourselves.

I, uh, dunno if I really oughta be running off to Caldera... [Man. How is he supposed to own up to his reasoning there being 'because he told ma he'd stay put?'] But yeah, we can definitely have a look around?

[Lucas pauses.]
Wasn't there... a sort of strange flower grove up on the way to Caldera? Could there be anything useful in there?

[While he's glad Kanji remembers him, Red suspects it might be nervous to dwell, hence why he picks up on Lucas' point right away.]
We could try making a better potion to heal up the poor Pokémon! I really want to help, I'm just...stumped. If we can't move anything until we have a container, we should do what we can.
...Oh. [Now he looks embarrassed and extends a hand to both Kanji and Lucas] I'm Red. By the way. I know you never got it in the mine, and I've never met you before.

[He frowns.]
Regular potions are pretty much based on specially prepared forest herbs, yeah. But if we wanted to check this other place out, how would we get there 'n back in time? It's past the forest and all. Gah, I just - don't like the idea of runnin' off...
[And a sigh, as he looks away at the scene around him.] Not to mention we wouldn't even know what we were pickin'. Medicine's not something you can experiment with. I ain't tryin' to shut you guys down, don't get me wrong! I'm just tryin' to think how to make this work...

[He nods solemnly at Kanji's objections.]
It's true, but... I can try and ask the Pokemon nearby if they know of anything that could be helpful. If not, I can ask Teddie to look - he's good at picking out things like this.
...If anyone has a Flying type or a Pokemon that can use Teleport, it could be pretty fast.

I have three.
[Bringing up his Warp Band, Red summons Abelard(Charizard), Nike(Pidgeot), and...Ribbons(Aerodactyl). Abby and Nike seem calm enough, Abby in particular nosing Red and taking his hat to hold. Ribbons however scowls. This wasn't a fight and he wanted no part of any proceedings otherwise.]
They're all nice enough though. Just don't pet Ribbons. Or ask about his name. I'll tell you later.

[Lucas seems surprised for a moment before he smiles at the three Pokemon. He dips his head a little.]
Thank you for helping us... I... I'll try to find something nice in the Flower Grove for all of you to have, too.

[Ribbons huffs, sitting and scratching at it's chin. Red looks over to Kanji with a smile.]
Well hey, you need some help? sometimes you can develop problems, but they usually can be solved, and without you to make something of our findings, what good would they be?
[He turns back to Lucas and adjusts his hat.]
But we may need to get some findings first, don't let me hold you up!

Sounds like we've got a plan, then? If we're gonna be right there, right back... yeah, alright. [And a small sigh-] Not like we can do a lot else at the moment.

I'm sure we'll be able to find something. I've heard all about how amazing it is... It seems like it has something to do with that time the flowers came into our city, too.
[Lucas will nod again before he moves around to try to mount the scaly Aerodactyl.]

[How to wrangle six foot plus of rider and not quite five foot of bird. He looks at Nike with a little frown-] You're okay with this, right?

[The Aerodactyl, while initially very upset with Lucas being close huffs one last time, and stands, lowering it's head and shoulders enough for the boy to get on. Meanwhile, Nike, the ever troublesome one, snorts, looking at Kanji and opening a wing, saying something to Abby which in turn makes the Charizard just shrug. Kanji's arguably too big for everyone, so. Huffing, she lowers enough for him to get on, spreading her wings and flicking her head to indicate for him to hurry. While he's an Electric Enlightened, she trusts he's aware that accidental discharges in the sky will result in her being less one rider quickly. Abby looks to Red, who reaches to adjust his hat...which is still in the Charizard's hand, and he huffs now, before climbing onto it's back.]
Just remember to let them do most of the leading and we'll be fine! Ribbons likes his ears scratched...you may want to compliment Nike's plumage or something. She likes being flattered. Anyway!
[Abby crouches, and leaps, flapping it's wings as they're off.]
Now...Tell me about these flowers. I don't recall...oh! Yeah, I do now, I was out training right at the end and just got lucky enough to bond with Atley!

They came a few months ago! Early in the spring... It was really strange; all at once, Union was just covered...

[Thankfully Nike responds well enough with Kanji's coaxing. Ribbons snorts again at the scratch, pretending he's perfectly ambivalent, though it really is helping out immensely on being amiable enough to get them to the grove.]
I hear Union got really crazy, I also heard it hasn't been the same since! Especially with all this happening!

[Lucas's smile is a bit strained, but he'll gently scratch Ribbons a little more while leaning forward and murmuring words of gratitude.]
The flowers were nice, though. I wouldn't mind that so much every now and then...

[Nike fluffs her feathers, and stretches before she takes off on his question into the air. Surprisingly, he isn't as heavy as she thought. Ribbons meanwhile looks much more pleasant with the scratching, and likewise takes off into the sky and Red starts following.]
Now, we should be able to get their quickly, I hope.
