Attack on Sanctuary
It’s just after midnight when the column arrives outside of Sanctuary, shrouded in darkness under the pitch black of a new moon. Bordered by mountains to the north, the city has two primary gates to the West and the East, both of which are shut tight with massive oaken doors, centuries old and further secured with an antique portcullis. The city itself is surrounded by walls of stone, easily one-fourth the height of those found in Union and about twice the height of many of the homes, sturdy stone buildings with triangular roofs, about the same size as Calderan homes. Like Union, there are many towers within the city, but unlike Union, the towers are cold, aloof structures that stand alone with no connection to the other towers. The city itself is stone, cold, gray, and unfeeling, with small drops of light from streetlamps which line the streets, emitting an eerie blue-white glow. This is Sanctuary. Home of the Magi, conquered by Gigas for forty years. This is the city that must be reclaimed.
[OOC: If you did not choose to take the Pokeballs (you don’t have to have affirmed in an NPC thread, it’s entirely up to the character), they may have either 1 large Pokemon or 2 small Pokemon. A large Pokemon is classified as any Pokemon that is 4’ tall or long per the official Pokedex guidelines, anything smaller is considered a small Pokemon. Without the aid of Pokeballs the Pokemon will be required to be out and active throughout the log, and will not be able to be recalled or sent away if they are injured and must be carried if knocked out. As always, please limit yourself to 2 major actions in the log, and declare all Pokemon accompanying you in your first tag to a log. As always, to keep the logs moving, we will be responding every 24 hours.]

Mission # 2: Gilgamesh, Banzu and Pearl
It took a few hours for the command center to be put together proper, and even then it was a bit haphazard. Still, it would do. Maeve looked over the handiwork, giving everything a curt nod, before she turned toward the volunteers. "All right, so this is how this will go down." She gestured toward one of the machines; "We'll be using these to communicate to anyone in the city. Normally the Warp Bands wouldn't work, which is why Ryuuko was asked to help. But, through a bit of ingenuity, we've managed to get some kind of signal to them.
"It's shoddy at best, but we'll be a direct line to the troops in the city. They won't be able to see us, and we won't be able to see them, but they can report back to us with what they find. We've got Calderan experts here to help get you the info you need. If you hear anything off, or if someone transmits something through, let me or somebody else know, we'll tell you what you need."
Maeve scratches her cheek a bit, in thought. "There's a chance we might have some interference, but we'll cross that bridge if it comes to it. I need somebody manning this thing at all times. Any volunteers for first watch?"
[[OOC: The command center will act as a means to get information to other groups. People in separate missions are encouraged to post here with what they see, and characters in this mission will be given information to give back to them.]]

"I can go first, I guess. And last. As long as I can get food and tea I can probably just power through the whole trip." Gil said, absentmindedly. He was more interested in the command center itself. He wandered around, poking at everything, including the things you probably shouldn't be poking.
Thank you, Void!
[There is a stranger in your midst, volunteers from Union. He is a slim young man with an oddly quiet demeanor who had been waiting for others to arrive. With nothing else left to lose in this cold city, Waver Velvet had officially volunteered himself to help with the resistance efforts.
Stealing books could only go so far in the grander scheme, after all.
Due to his particular (lack of) skills, he had been sent to the one place where he might not immediately run into problems.]
If that's the case, then I'll go second.
[He spoke quietly, notably uncertain, but there was a serious look in his eyes. He might not look like much more than a skinny teen, but it was clear that he was no stranger to late nights and long hours.]
24 hour progression!
The Seeker cast a glance at Waver. He must have been the one they briefed her about, the resistance member from Sanctuary. She would be curious to hear how he got out, but that was for another time. "All right, good." Maeve nodded.
"It'll probably be a bit quiet at first, as people are moving into position. Stay vigilant, fighting could start at any time."

Really though he was more or less just talking to himself. This line of conversation never tended to go anywhere useful.

OOC Note
Mission 1
"Doesn't sound like they're doing too well in there, does it?"
Mission 1
Waver was listening in as well, a thoughtful look on his face. As much as people wanted a non-violent resolution, he knew for fact that it just didn't work out that easily in reality.
Mission 1
Listening in for a few moments, the younger woman stopped in her tracks. Face paling, she practically pushed Waver out of the way--sorry, she probably couldn't move Gil, given his size. "Out of the way."
Did she just hear her right? Were they--no, she must have misheard her. There was no way something like that was happening, especially under their own noses. Maeve swore under her breath. "Hold off on responding for now. See what else she has to say. Looks like there's more to all of this than we thought."
Mission 1
"R-right," he replied, absently. This was all new information, something that was hidden away somewhere where only those in the know could have access. What was the truth supposed to be anymore?

Mission 10
He wasn't focused on the right thing here at all.

"As for what Magi can do, they're pretty similar to Enlightened, but have to memorize things first before they can do them. It's a pretty inefficient system if you ask me."
To his third question, Maeve made a face. "Maybe? I don't know, they're pretty protective of their stuff. Seriously, is that what you should be focusing on right now? This is a serious mission, not some joy ride here, Gil."

To Maeve: "Sounds kinda like how my Smeargle uses Sketch - no real moves of his own but copying moves he's seen."

Mission 5/9
"So much for stealth."

"Hopefully it'll be a good distraction at least, draw some soldiers away from everyone else."
no subject
"Are there any of these that HAVEN'T led to chaos and noise?"
Mission 3
"Things sound really bad on the streets..."
The fragile quiet of the night had been broken by shouts and the distorted sound of gunfire. If Waver sounded uneasy, that's because he was; he hadn't expected anything to ever reach this level.

"Violence."
"Fear."
"All of us."
"Help."
"Please."]

[Waver doesn't know you, stranger. He doesn't know Union, and he doesn't know your stories at all...
But he knows what absolute terror sounded like. Just listening to the cacaphony that had erupted on the feed was enough to still the young man in his own fear-- fear for those out there, fear for what could become of the city--]
Please keep yourself safe, [He whispered, and stepped away from the line.]
I need one of you guys over here, right now.
[The uncertainty was plain in his voice. He had no idea how to advise in this situation.]

[Mission control probably doesn't have any information on the secretive prison, but at least they could get more opinions in.]

[ It takes a moment before Maeve responds. ]
I hate to say it, but we don't have much. I have blueprints from when this place was first being built, so I can kind of guess where you are, but other than that I've got no clue. I can't help you here.
I'd say go with what my brother says. You can blame it on crummy orders from your fearless leader here if it doesn't work out. He probably won't steer you wrong.
