Another time, another place...
As you descend into the newly formed tunnels, a strange feeling surrounds you. Driving deeper, a strange green light encircles you, pushing you unconsciously deeper and deeper into the swirling mists. There’s a power here, ancient and unfathomable. And then, light. But when you emerge, things have suddenly changed.
Any vestige of your Enlightened powers are gone. Your clothes are different, your equipment is different, even your Warp Band is gone! Any changes the process may have brought upon your body is also gone, you are now, fully and truly human. In its place, strapped securely to your belt, are a collection of red-and-white balls. You know instinctively what these are. The heretical tools of the lost age. Pokeballs…
[OOC Notes: ALL Enlightened powers, form changes, and other associated abilities will be gone for the duration of this log. Shifters may choose either to enter as a human, retaining their Pokemon team, or as a speech-capable Pokemon, although speaking in front of other humans may cause alarm and suspicion. Any Enhanced equipment is also altered, it is now entirely technological and may appear quite advanced. Unless specified in the intro log, your clothes will likely be reflective of more modern US attire or army combat gear, depending on the situation.
As always, we will be progressing the log at least once every 24 hours to keep things moving. If you have any further questions, please ask here.
When making your first comment in a thread, please list your character's Pokémon team.]

Chie, Morgiana, Lucca, Estelle, and Sinbad
You hear the warning shout as you are greeted by a strange sight. A sea of Pokemon hundreds at least stretch before you. These Pokemon are, however, different, they have markings that you've never seen before running across their bodies.
"This is Mewtwo's last stand. He won't be able to escape this time. Destroy his fake Pokemon and bind him. Giovanni wants him returned in as pristine condition as possible."
A rather large group of humans nod and salute. They are all wearing black shirts and pants with a blazing red R writ large upon the chest. This is a uniform, you find, that you share with your fellow humans.

Then she start processing the rest. The big red "R" on her shirt, and everyone else's, and the subtle shift as they entered the tunnels. It stopped being so subtle. Her fingers tensed around it, before she looked back up.
"We're supposed to capture him?" she asked -- then hesitated, with a frown. She glanced at the others. Did they go with this? Where were they? What was happening? Her eyes widened a bit more. Something about this was wrong.
And quite confusing.
[OOC: Estelle's team is Flareon, Golurk, and Bellossom.]

"What on earth..." He rasped, staring from side to side, having to track down the presence of others with eyes and ears. "Why can't I sense them?" He held his head in brief confusion, snapping up at the command, then at himself. "Is everyone all right, can you still feel the waves?" He questioned as he ran his hand over the single ball he had on his hip. Was Badr comfortable in such a tiny little object? Without thinking he moves to take him out out.
[OOC: Sinbad's Team is Dratini]

"I'm...What is this? What's happening?"
[OOC: Are we sharing teams? Morgiana's "team" is a single, lone, shiny Pancham]

Mewtwo...? Fake Pokemon...? Who's Giovanni...? And why are we wearing these weird uniforms...?
[More than anything, else, she's snapped out of it first by the sight and feel of the Pokeballs on her belt. She glances at the others with a frown before placing her hand atop Morgiana's and squeezing it lightly - as much for her own comfort as for hers.]
(OOC: Chie's team consists of Blaziken, Garchomp, Aegislash, Glalie, and Exeggutor.)

The second? Were those Gigan devices. Pokeballs. And that made her mad. Was this some sort of joke? She was Calderan. She didn’t need these stupid things. And she damn sure didn’t want her buddies crammed in them.
“What the hell?!” she grunted, plucking one from her belt and releasing Gato. It didn’t take her even the instant to let the Golett materialize before she activated the other four. Hooly, Swinedimple, Synchrite, and Interceptor all appear next, crowding around their trainer defensively. At least she was on task, stepping forward and drawing that gun, glowering at the speaker. She wouldn’t flip at least. This was a situation she could handle, even if she wasn’t entirely okay with it.
“What’s a Mewtwo, and why are we fighting it? Because this seems like a pretty bad idea if it can make fakes like those.”
[Her team is Rotom, Grimer, Houndour, Magnemite, and Golett]

The man turns his attention to some others wearing labcoats. Behind them is what appears to be a large cannon of some sort - it has a lot of wiring on it and the barrel is extremely large. Massive cables are connected to it and it's easily several times as big as a human. Several people appear to be calibrating it.
no subject
She realizes halfway into her protest that she has no idea what they're doing.
The girl looks between the others, lingering briefly on Chie and Lucca, who she knows best. She starts walking, then, with a brief stumble. Her powers are reduced, too, and it hits her when tries to hit a jog and feels so... sluggish. "Okay... this is really weird."
no subject
...Okay, I don't know what's going on here, but we're not letting them use that thing to kill Pokemon, right?
no subject
"What can we do against THAT?" She said, pointing at the cannon. She felt so weak that fighting ANYTHING seemed beyond her right now.

Machines her father had told her Aren't capable of evil. Humans make them that way.
And that, along with her past as an actual weapons designer, made up her mind. As nice as it would be to take that thing apart and learn...it was still a weapon, and it was a weapon that was about to cause imminent danger to a Pokemon.
"Do you..." she grinned as she muttered low voice, her hand resting on the holstered gun, "Want me to do something about that cannon? If this is anything like mine back home...and I suspect that it is, they really, really won't like it when I induce a reaction in that things power matrix."
All her Pokemon chittered in amusement at the suggestion, a mechanical chorus of chimes, bells, whistles, and Grimes.
no subject
"So you can stop that machine..." He pauses, realizing he couldn't understand what Lucca's pokemon were saying. Sinbad tries to think, again futility trying to get a feel for the one they called 'mewtwo' and the strange banded pokemon. "Okay, we'll have to distract those guys so you can sabotage that thing, and after that - I don't think letting these creeps capture that Pokemon is in any shape is a good idea, their uniforms just scream shady."
no subject
A sudden shout emerges from the group as a Pokemon seems to blink into existence. The army of Pokemon assembled before it begin to charge as flashes of light can be seen all over - other Pokemon being released by the uniformed humans below.
The Pokemon erects a barrier of pure force around it as it gazes contemptuously upon the humans holding the front line. Explosions of psychic energy detonate around them, flinging human and Pokemon alike as the creature's army presses forward.
Meanwhile, the men at the gun scramble, preparing to fire...
no subject
And then Mewtwo appears.
"Holy gods," she whispers softly, briefly stunned. Estelle's eyes shoot wide open, as she sees the explosions of psychic force rip into the ranks of the humans and their Pokemon. She ducks, instinctively, though none come quite close enough. "I think we've got our distraction!" she calls out. Then she looks down at the battlefield below. "Clear out down there, people! Leave it to us! Adol, do your thing, now, boy!"
Flareon opens his mouth and lets out a roar. Balls of magma form in the air, hot enough to make it shimmer. Then they come raining down -- seemingly for Mewtwo. However, they rain down behind him. A miss, as they strike the ground with fiery explosions and bursts of lava, but none quite come close to the legendary Pokemon. An impressive display, but a miss.
A deliberate one, too, but who needs to know that?
no subject
"Now...that's a Force Field..." she can't help but comment before shaking her head and forcing herself to act.
In a single smooth motion she draws her futuristic gun, tweaks it a bit and lets it charge up with a high-pitched electronic whine...and then she fires two shots directly into the big cannon with surprisingly good aim, the first at the control panel, and the second at one of the aiming joints it's mounted on. If the gun has even a small amount of it's original plasma-power, it should have zero trouble melting through.
Of course, her follow up is to wave her gun in the air (safety on) and act like she's panicked and fired on accident...
If anyone expected subtlety from Lucca Ashtear, they were barking up the wrong tree.

[Chie calls out to the rest of the Rockets holding the line as she steps out in front of them, drawing a Pokeball from her belt with a grimace and releasing her Aegislash.]
Guan Yu - use King's Shield!
[The knightly ghost type briefly bows its head before swinging its arms out in one smooth motion to erect a powerful shield in front of Chie, doing its best to extend the effect as far out as it can to protect the others as well.]
no subject
Sinbad kneels once he lands to catch himself, think - think. Can't feel, so think, he tells himself as he scans the field, Chie's guarding, Lucca managed to get that huge cannon down. "Badr, Thunder Wave, keep the Pokemon from breaking through - the less people hurt, the better."
The dragon-type lets out a little chirp, the gem on it's forehead glowing as bolts of electricity shot out, hitting as many banded pokemon as it could.
"Lucca, Chie! Keep 'Helping our comrades', the rest of us will try to keep these pokemon in check." He calls out as he rose up to his feet - wheels turning in his head. If they could do it without either side getting too hurt....
no subject
To her shame, Morgiana couldn't get herself to do anything against the invading pokemon or against the humans. She simply cowered behind Chie and her shield. A voice in her head spoke. Not like telepathy, more like her own mind wearing a memory: that of a huge, towering man who wore a mask and had once been her friend.
Morgiana. Why are you hiding?
"I can't. I don't have any strength here!"
You cannot be stopped. You cannot be chained. Your chains are gone. I broke them myself.
"I can't!"
You can and you know it. You still have so much to do, Morgiana. Don't let anything chain you down. You are free, and you always will be.
"I..."
To the outside observer, of course, she was just cowering and talking to herself.
no subject
However, a massive explosion can be heard from several other points in the surrounding and Mewtwo suddenly drops, enormous holes appearing on its body as some kind of projectile moving far too fast for the eye to follow pass through it, piercing its barrier as if it were paper.
While the nearby gunners are too busy attending to their weapon, cheers from the other uniformed humans can be heard throughout the area. The army of Pokemon roar in rage and charge forward as their master sinks into their ranks.
no subject
"Oh, no," she murmurs softly. She raises a hand, trying to summon a fire bolt in preparation; she forgets herself for a moment. The fire doesn't come to her.
"LURK!" Dogi bellows. The Golurk steps in front of her, and then flashes. His body suddenly turns to iron, slate grey and with a shine to it, standing protectively in front of Estelle as the horde comes. She takes a couple of steps backward, then looks at Sinbad. "There's a whole bunch of them! I'll try, but I don't know if we can handle this many! Morgiana--"
Morgiana is talking to herself. She was supposed to be really strong, too. That makes Estelle hesitate.
Behind Dogi, and a little to the side of him, Feena the Bellossom turns in midair. A blast of petals and sharp winds flies out at her command a moment later -- and hurtles into the horde as it comes at them.
"Lucca!" Estelle calls out, taking cover behind her Golurk. "You be careful up there, too!"
no subject
Lucca's finger flips the switch back on, and she looks around for a target, this time selecting another joint on the cannon and snapping off another shot. Her eyes continue to track around, looking for whatever the source of that attack was though.
"That's one. Find me something else to blow up guys. And you just...go break something, Estelle. You're good at that!"
no subject
The Pancham stood between Morgiana and the horde of angry pokemon and let loose a roar that was far too loud to come from such a tiny throat, and GREW much much larger, until he was larger than Morgiana herself.
"PANGORO!"
no subject
"Morgiana! You can do it, I know you can." Sinbad calls out as he weaves and dodges, searching for a good vantage point. "If you can't trust my words, trust Pangoro's." Least he hopes that roar meant something good for them, it was isolating since he could no longer understand it.
Badr slithers after, twisting itself around to warning his human of incoming attacks that weren't in his range of vision. "Badr, Twister - keep them away from the girls!"
no subject
[Even as she focuses on protecting the rest of the team, Chie has kept one eye on Morgiana, concerned for her friend ever since they've arrived here. Seeing her Pancham evolve sets her mind at ease, though, and she eagerly runs to her side to join the mighty panda.
If Morgiana isn't feeling confident in herself, she reasons, at least Chie can help her feel confident in her friends. Grinning up at the huge bear, she offers a quick fistbump to that effect before looking back to the assembled Pokemon army.]
Guan Yu, keep it up! Use Iron Defense, and then King's Shield again!
[He's just going on full defense autopilot at this point, alternating those two moves so as not to wear himself out. Chie is his beloved liege lord, so he will play the part of the brave sentinel standing against the forces of chaos.]
And for the rest of you guys... Pao Lin, use Sandstorm!
[Drawing out a Pokeball and releasing her Garchomp, Chie points at the encroaching Pokemon, directing it to whip up a blinding storm that will hopefully slow them down. Chie herself, bereft of Enlightened powers, is simply going to stand fast next to Morgiana, ready to do whatever it takes to defend her until she's recovered her own will to fight.]

The rest, however, surge past, going for the gun. Lucca will note that there are several other encampments surrounding the army and elevated on the nearby hillside, about five in all. The Pokemon army seems to be moving toward the weapons, intent to take them apart.
However, a second barrage, this time aimed at the army, tears through the ranks of the Pokemon. Mewtwo might have been able to survive, but his army is not so lucky. Whole swaths of Pokemon are torn apart by the enormous, impossibly fast metal slugs that were fired right into them.
