Has anyone ever bonded with a Pokémon and realized that they simply don't...fit? Their typing, their personality, whatever?

[He glances off-screen]

I've a Klink I've had for a few months now and he just isn't...I'm not sure he's happy here. I don't seem to understand him like I do everyone else and he just doesn't seem happy with me.

I have, a couple of times. What's going on with your Klink? Why do you think he's unhappy?

He never really wants to do anything with anyone. He just...floats around, doing nothing.

[rainsrespite]

Introverted? Or does he seem just, despondent? You do have a really outgoing bunch...

[warriormouse]

I'm not quite sure. That's why I'm worried. If he's simply shy, that's easy enough to work with. But I don't understand him like I do the others. He never wants to talk.

No? D'you have any other Steel types?

[warriormouse]

Boar. That's why I'm so worried. I know that I'm part Fairy type, now, but I wasn't before and I've always done well with all sorts of Pokémon--including the Steel-types.

[rainsrespite]

Well you know Klinks are a little different. They're more like Zedd than Boar. Even less human.

I could bring Zedd by, see if he can get them talking?

[warriormouse]

Oh, that's a great idea. When can you stop by?

[rainsrespite]

Well I'm in town for the day, maybe an hour? I wanna get cleaned up a bit first, I was running.

[warriormouse]

That's fine. I'll be here.

[rainsrespite]

[An hour or so later, she turns up with a knock, a Magnezone in tow. And a Roselia too.]

Heya! I'm not late yeah?

[warriormouse]

[He gets the door and Laterose follows, chirping at the Roselia. Is that her other baby? Is that her Egg?]

Of course not. Hungry? Matthias made honey bread.

[rainsrespite]

[It is, in fact, her baby. Barako twirls in a circle in front of her mother, showing off.]

Um, nah, thanks though. I just ate. But wait...he's delivering now?

[warriormouse]

No, he lives here now. I insisted, after his father died.

[YOU ARE SO PRETTY come here, come meet the Trapinch baby Barako]

This is Zedd?

Oh. I...didn't know about that bit. Heard about his dad though. Shame.

[She steps in, not at all plussed by that news. It was simply what it was. And Bara glides in, eager to meet the other.]

And yeah, it is.

[Zedd buzzes and spins his magnets. Hey there. Been a while.]

[warriormouse]

I am pretty sure he was smaller last time I saw him.

[Rose leads Bara off to meet Boldred while Martin goes to find Clink]

Maybe. Magnemites grow in odd ways.

[Like attaching themselves together and the like.]

I hope so too.

[And whenever they find Clink, Zedd buzzes in greeting. Hello there.]

[Clink is just...clinking around an old radio, clacking when Zedd buzzes. Hi.

Even for a mechanical Steel-type, Clink is pretty...emotionless.]

[What's on the radio, Clink? Does it work?]

[warriormouse]

[No. He wants to learn how it works but he doesn't understand it. His fake-babbling doesn't seem to get people to teach him, either.

Martin sighs]

I should be able to understand him better.

[rainsrespite]

[Zedd blinks and looks at Martin.

And he repeats what Clink said. He wants to know how the radio works.]

[warriormouse]

...what.

[Martin facepalms]

That's the problem? He's always babbling about radios, but it's never accurate. I know he likes to sound smart, so I didn't think he wanted to be taught about them...not that I could, mind you, but I can get books. Why did he never say that?

[Clink chimes. He's not very good at organics like humans and other 'mons. He thought it was obvious and thought everyone was making fun of him when they asked what was wrong.]

[rainsrespite]

[Zedd's eye swivels in place going back and forth. He doesn't know.]

Well, that or you could make friends with a mechanic? There are a few of them around...

[Clink clunks, gears whirring. He doesn't like other organics. He likes Martin.

Martin understand that and smiles a bit]

Apparently, he doesn't like other people.

Then, buddy, I guess you're going to learn how to fix a radio.

[Yuuna reaches a hand out and runs it along Zedd's casing.]

Mechanicals are really nice companions too, you know. Zedd's been with me as long as Gouken.
