Agreed, the heat is murder.

[Not surprising, if he reaches his 2nd evolution he may start burning things in this sort of heat just by touching it.]

It's not that bad.

[His typing is pretty ambivalent to the heat, plus he can literally fan himself with the wings on his back, which he is every so often. Plus his masked Talonflame was enjoying it quite a bit.]

[Satsuki doesn't approve of the heat either, but complaining about it won't help. Instead, she just slaps her forearm grimly, activating Junketsu to blow off steam (literally). She's been having to do it more often as the party progressed, and some people might be used to it already - but still, let's hope the sudden burst of hissing steam doesn't startle anyone or anyone's Pokemon.]

[Apollo rides up on his Sawsbuck, back from scouting ahead. He dismounts almost immediately and warps Sawsbuck back to Union for a rest. Apollo's limited number of non-Grass-type Pokémon is a bit of a challenge, as is the sandy terrain, but he's compensating as best he can by limiting how long any one Pokémon is with him. Talonflame is the only exception, near-constantly keeping watch from above, but even it needs breaks periodically and is currently taking one with great reluctance.

Apollo himself is wearing a cloak that's obviously meant for woodland camouflage, eyeblack to cut the glare, and a long off-white cloth wrapped around his forehead and face, leaving only a slit for his eyes and a mess of red hair sticking out of the top. First request when he gets back to Union: for the Rangers to come up with some proper desert gear.]

There's nothing but more sand ahead, but Sawsbuck and I saw something dark along the horizon to the west-northwest. We're still too far away to tell if it's really there or an illusion like last time though.

[He's directing his report to the team leaders, but anyone nearby will have no trouble hearing him.]

[ This... is not a climate that Melaka has any experience in scouting. Still, she is a ranger, and will be trying to do it anyway. The heat's strong - almost unbearable, really. But, as is he usual solution for these things, she strips down to minimal and loose clothing (baggy pants and a tank top like shirt) and eats aspear berries due to her lac of juice. It'll take someone else to point out she'll get heat stroke or sunburnt that way because she doesn't connect that oops.

But mostly, she's out here with Slugger (her Donphan) scouting ahead with her while Brownie (her Primeape) is being the beast of burden for once. The angry monkey was convinced to handle her (admittedly not great) load because he was the only one who could. Sneak and Willow can't carry loads like that and Lurks can't tolerate this climate very well. Slugger was more useful up front for his ears and his nose. Not that the nose is conventional either.

So encounter her or her pokemon. Or tell her to not get burned. Or maybe run into some wild pokemon out here with her. You know, the usual ]
