Log // Flowers & Bug Spit

Who: Michiru (incousinswithyou) & her Budew, Haruka (actsmagnificent) & her Sewaddle, Hawke (hawkethat) & his beard, possibly others. It is happening in a public place, after all. Feel free to have witnessed this.
What: Hawke promised to tolerate having leaves and flowers stuck to his face and hair with bug spit. I mean MAKE-OVERS. Because Michiru's Budew is too adorable okay.
Where: The park
When: Gently backdated to sometime last-weekish.
Warnings: None, unless you're afraid of bugs.

[Here is Hawke, chilling in the park with his two puppy pals and waiting for his new bestie Michiru to show up with her Budew so he can indulge the tiny little grass pokemon with its desire to make people over. The Houndour and the Lillipup are frolicking together in the sun while Hawke looks on, seated on the ground with his back against the trunk of a shady tree.]

Sewaa.

[ In that case, Sewaddle will just back up to give Sergeant room to pick up the crown. He's your Trainer (and you can reach). Do the honors, Houndour! Put the pretty crown on the pretty man.

Meanwhile, the other pretty "man" here even pauses her Lillipup scratchings, turning them into Lillipup pettings, in acknowledgment of this moment's solemnity. You are a good sport, Mr. Hawke. She salutes you. (Figuratively, for now.) ]

[Sewaddle's excitement is catching, and Sergeant's furiously wagging tail is a visual testament to that. His tail stops wagging quite so quickly, however, as he gently takes up the crown in his mouth. It looks delicate, and he doesn't want to break it. Even though Hawke is sitting on the ground, his head is still a bit out of the Houndour's reach, but that's easily solved by going up on his back legs and steadying himself with his front paws against Hawke's shoulder.

Hawke's smile is genuine and amused as he bows his head to accept the crown. Sergeant settles it gently on his head, pauses for just long enough to make sure it's secure there, and climbs into Hawke's lap with absolutely no regard for the solemnity of the situation, which just causes Hawke to laugh.]

[whoa. Budew's just gonna stand there for a bit and admire the pretty picture Garrett makes. If they didn't know any better, anybody would think he's a Grass type.

Michiru certainly seems amused.] And what will your first decree be?

[ And there he is. King of the Forest with his noble beast. Sewaddle is genuinely touched by this moment. Haruka...the verdict's out, but she's taking it in with a smile on her face all the same. Cute. ]

A reward for the craftsmen, obviously.

Obviously.

[As luck would have it, Hawke conveniently has a handful of berries on hand, for just such an occasion. He produces two from a pocket and holds them out to Sewaddle and Budew.]

Do you like berries?

[yaay, snacks! Budew promptly forgets her manners and peers at those berries, trying to see what kind they are.

Michiru just smiles fondly at the Grass type. And Garrett, you are such a good sport.]

[ A...reward? No one has ever rewarded Sewaddle for his efforts before (at least, not when it comes to clothing). He inches forward much slower than Budew, as if he can't believe this is really happening. You....you like it that much? ] Sewa?

[ He looks up at Haruka - is it okay? - and Haruka is....Haruka is smiling. Nodding, even. ] Don't be rude.

[ That means he can accept the Berry! Sewaddle beams and makes grabby hands. ] Sewa sewa!

[He likes it that much! ...Even though he hasn't seen it yet, and will probably cringe a bit when he does...but let's not worry about that right now! 8'D]

You both do excellent work.

These two little pokemon are so damned cute, how do Michiru and Haruka even handle them]

[at least she'll make sure those two are properly out of the way before you find a mirror.]

Budew bu! [don't mind if she does! Eat out of your hand, that is. Budew's lack of grasping limbs means this happens more often than not.]

Waddle. [ Sewaddle doesn't have much in the way of arms, either, but he's been practicing his dexterity. It's hard to hold this Berry and munch at the same time, but he manages. And it just so happens it's his favorite flavor! Granted, his favorite flavor is "whichever he happens to be holding at the time".

....But wait. He looks over at Sergeant. The dog helped too. This isn't fair. So Sewaddle sets down his treat, picks up the closest twig, uses it to split the Berry in half, and offers Houndour the portion he hasn't bitten into already. ] Wah?

[ Haruka hides a smile. Sewaddle is too earnest for his own good. ]

[Michiru is a good friend.

Sergeant is very surprised by the offering, and hesitates, looking up at Hawke to see what he should do. Luckily, Hawke has a solution - more berries.]

Keep your berry, little one. There's plenty more where that came from.

[See, look, he's getting one out for Sergeant now, and also one for Paladin, so she doesn't feel left out. Berries for everyone!]

Haruka gets a slight nudge with an elbow.] Did you teach him that?

[Budew seems satisfied, at least, and plops back down on the grass so she could admire their work. She nods to herself. Yes. Bearded human is very pretty now.]

[ That one was all him! (Though if he watches Haruka speak to young ladies about town, he may have picked up a few tips about being fair. Being smooth, though, he'll keep working on.)

Sewaddle looks up as if unsure it's okay for them to take so many of Hawke's Berries, but if it's really all right then.....he doesn't want to seem ungrateful, either. So he puts the one Berry half back on top of the other to make it look whole again. ] Sewaddle.
