Lights! Camera! Action!
The Kricketune Theaters are Proud to Present: A Night of Laughter and Tears! starring... Union!
Banners and streamers had begun popping up all over town a week in advance, and it wasn't long before the rumors began to spread. The Kricketune Theaters were taking a dive financially and needed a quick promotion to stay in business. The Kricketune Theaters were so rich and their warehouses stocked with so many treasures that they just felt like giving things away out of caprice. (They were artists, after all.) The Kricketune Theaters were a front for the underground gambling industry, and this was a distraction for the rest of Union while the ruffians and thugs of Union divvied up the illicit gains of the year. The Kricketune Theaters were a front for Team Evolution and this was yet another object demonstration; the Team would once again spring Mega Evolution out of their sleeves and win all the prizes.
...Well no one really believed that last one.
Regardless, the news spread quickly: a night of performances put on by the trainers of Union. The best performances by audience vote would receive a prize - some treasure previously unseen in Union altogether. Whether or not one was interested in putting on a show, it was at least a chance to see something out of the ordinary. Or many things. The sign-up list tacked outside the front doors slowly grew in length; everyone had their thoughts as to what would be the ideal production...
Soon enough, the night arrives. 7:00 sharp, the doors open to allow the spectators to come streaming in for a nominal fee; the performers had assembled an hour earlier and now stood nervously watching through cracks in the curtain or conducting last minute rehearsal.
"Laaaaaadies and gentlemen!"
The unseen voice booms out across the theater.
"Please take your seats. The show begins in 15 minutes!"
((You may still sign up groups here. If you are unable to find a group but would like to participate, make a note in the Planning section of that page and we can pair you up with someone. This log will run all week. Voting will begin May 10th based on log progression up to that point.
The grand prize will be, as announced Prism Scales from the swamp. Other prizes for participants will also be available.))

Need costume advice or assistance? She's your gal.]

[ Watch your step, everyone. A dashing young "prince" - complete with cape, little crown, and a tiny sword silked to his two front legs - has arrived with a problem: someone stepped on his cape and dislodged a leaf. He has a leaf out of place. He absolutely cannot be seen in public like this.
But his friend will help! Sewaddle turns around to show Setsuna his crisis. ] Waddle sewa?
no subject
She realizes though that she is not here to just admire the Sewaddle but to do a job and it looks as though there's been a bit of a costume mishap.]
Oh no. It looks like something happened to your cape. Persephone will you give me some green thread?
[The Flabebe looks up from her work and then down at the Sewaddle. She beams and switches out thread before handing it to Setsuna.]
Be~
[Setsuna takes the already prepared thread and needle and motions for Sewaddle.]
Come closer please and turn around.

Over the past few weeks, she's been immersing herself on her training, determined to catch up to some other nobles and trainers she's heard of. Plus, if anything more happened while she needs to be Cure Sunshine, both her and her Pokémon will be more prepared for disasters. What that does mean though is that she hasn't been socializing nearly as much as she should be. A bad move for a representative of a noble house, but Itsuki couldn't help it; she's a workaholic when it comes to these kinds of things.
The bad part of it is that she really truly wishes that her brother could come along. Alas, his illness was glaring up today, but it would have been a good chance for him to relax too. Well, Itsuki promises him that at the very least she'd tell him all about the performances, but if feels like a small consolation to her.
Accompanied by Potpourri the Togepi and Blossom the Cherubi on each of her shoulders, and Zen the Squirtle acting as their chaperone, Itsuki will linger around in the lobby for a few more minutes after the announcement, checking out the participant listing to see if she recognizes any names.]

Hot on his metaphorical heels is his trainer, Aida Mana]
Jack! Come back here!

Looking behind her and at the girl who called out, Itsuki guesses that it had to be its trainer. A rebellious little Purrloin huh? Well, she should give her a hand.] Zen, try to restrain him.
[The Squirtle lets go of Blossom and salutes to his trainer. With a light pressured Water Gun, he's aiming for Jack from behind, hopefully give him a little surprise.]

Nicely dressed as always, her left arm is hooked with Lance the Ursaring's arm while her right hand holds Kay the Mr. Mime's, who is very shy and looking around everywhere nervously. Hoshi the Cleffa sits on her shoulder, being the offical ticket holder for the group.
She was going to go to their seats, but finding someone familiar is always nice.]
Itsuki.
[A pretty soft call and that trademark calm smile. It's been a while and family is always important after all.]

She smiles easily at her cousin, looking at all of her accompanying Pokemon. She's always known that Alice started Pokemon training before her and that she could catch up easily, but it was nice to see how Alice was doing and what kind of Pokemon she found to be on her team. Putting Blossom down on the floor beside Zen, she braces Potpourri with her other hand and bows slightly. Alice may know her real gender, but she had to keep up appearances.]
Alice! It's so good to see you, and your Pokemon. [The only one she remembers off hand is Hoshi, who she nods too. Potpourri just waves to the other fairy.] How have you been doing?

Performances!
Asch & Luke fon Fabre
no subject
Asch leaves out a terribly long sigh, this wasn't how he envisioned his weekend. Aiding his brother in some moronic attempt at winning some grade prize that most likely wasn't even worth it. Not that Asch knew was the prize was but these people didn't seem like the types to have anything of worth.]
You ready? [Glancing down to his Eevee, his Pokemon and Luke's were going to dance around -- or something.. Luke was in charge of this. He has them dressed in the most embarrassing little sweaters too... ugh. That's almost as embarrassing as a certain cousin that carries her Pokemon in purses.]
{Veee~} [The little puff-ball seems excited, being able to show off along side Meiu is a joy.]
no subject
All right, whatever they're doing... they planned it all. I guess they're cute, so whatever.
[Mieu helps to adjust Asch's Eevee's bowtie with his mouth, veeeing happily.]
{I'm so excited! I can't wait!}

Haruka, Michiru & Usagi
no subject
Backstage, however, Usagi is currently off stage in the wings with a microphone in her hand and her script held open. She looks a trite nervous -- after all, she's not as experienced in this whole acting thing like her group members are. In fact, she's even surprised that they were okay with her participating with them. But, her role is quite simple. Act as the Narrator and if need be, fill in the Princess speaking parts in a different voice when the time came.
When the lights dim out in the crowd and the stage lights finally turn on, Usagi just takes a deep breath to try and keep it together and begins....! ]
Once upon a time, there was a prosperous kingdom far far away, ruled by a kind King and Queen. They had one daughter, the Princess of the kingdom. They loved her dearly, and she them. On sunny days, much like today, the Princess usually sneaks from castle walls to spend all her free time in the flower fields near the kingdom.
[ And like that, from the other side of the stage, Pinky, wearing an adorable little green princess-esque type dress, walks towards the fake flower patch and plops herself down, and starts playing with the loose flowers, almost as if she's making a flower crown! ]
no subject
One day, however, the self-proclaimed Evil Overlord of the land happened upon the Princess playing happily in the fields. "Why," she thought to herself, "I'll snatch up this pretty Princess! How dare she be happy when I'm around?!"
[she nods at her Pokemon and with a resounding roar, Gyarados busts in stage right, (carefully) writhing around for effect. Decked out in stylish goggles and a fancy black cloak with a high collar, Budew is sitting on top of the sea serpent's head and is enthusiastically glaring at the Cleffa down below.]
"You've been happy for far too long, Princess! My Evil Minion - " [Gyarados lets out another earth shaking roar] " - and I will kidnap you for your egregious sin! Mwahaha!"
[Budew laughs along as evilly as she could, but the plant is just way too excited about this...even if she's not quite sure what 'egregious' means.]

LET THE SHOW BEGIN]
no subject
[After two scenes of rescuing the "prince" from drowning and having an argument with the rest of the mermaid court (and fewer songs than usual given that only two of the actresses can sing intelligibly), it's time for Squid Girl's big introduction, which Rise starts off with the cheery yet fearful naiveté her role is known for. She puts as much uncertainty and quaver into her voice as she can stand.]
