[Action/Exploration]
[With the expedition coming up, Flynn had a lot of the things that needed to be packed and taken care of for it. While it needed to be done it had also been a bit tedious. At the moment, he and his Pokemon partner had gone into the Verdant Forest to walk around for a bit. The Happiny walked a little ahead of him, staying alert to their surroundings. Flynn glanced around as well, seeing nothing but snow and trees for the most part.]

As they continue forward, Flynn and Happiny may note that a break in the trees indicates a clearing up ahead. The snow here is thinner, and green shoots pop up from the ground, a reminder that winter will eventually give way to spring.
..............Why are there green shoots when there's still a month and a half of winter left, though?]
no subject
Fran, do you see that?
[In response to the question, the Normal-Type responds in her Pokemon speak to confirm that yes, she did see it. They both approached the area and surveyed it over. Flynn looked at the surrounding area, and then back at the shoots.]
no subject
No wind is blowing.]
no subject
Even though he was among those that Pokemon just seemed to gravitate more towards it didn't mean that he was completely safe from getting into conflicts. Fran, meanwhile, couldn't resist prodding the shoots with her tiny arms.]

...In a manner of speaking. The sprouts burst out of the snow with a gleeful chorus of 'Hoppip!' in rapid-fire, dozens of the cheerful, pink creatures leaping up and blowing off into the sky.
It will be very difficult, if not impossible to catch any of them before their weightless bodies are carried away by the wind, but the sight is pretty incredible, in any case.
When they have gone, there remains a single pair of green leaves poking out of the snow.]

After all, it wasn't every day he got to see something like this.
When the group had floated far enough that he could no longer see them his attention fell on the last pair of leaves. Had one not gone with them? Exchanging a look with Fran, he debated on whether or not he should call out to the clump. After three beats, he made his decision.]
Hey.
no subject
Green body?]
Hoppip?
[A shiny wild Hoppip has appeared!
It glances around in confusion! Where have all of its friends gone?!]
no subject
Are you looking for your group? They floated off a moment ago.
no subject
...
...
...
H-H... Hoppip?!
[It bursts out of the snow! And now Flynn can perhaps see that the green creature's head leaves are slightly crooked. As it bounces up into the air, it immediately banks right - straight into a tree.]
no subject
Are you okay?
no subject
Flynn's ability will translate. It can't believe it got left behind again. It took two weeks last time to find its friends and it was almost eaten by some horrible flaming bird thing. That's why its leaves are still all bent out of shape.]
no subject
If that's true, it might take you longer to track them down again...
[Or it might not find them at all. Not with a handicap like that hampering it down. Flynn felt pity for the Hoppip, and it showed faintly on his face.]
no subject
It supposes that if it leaves right now the wind will still be blowing the same direction and maybe it will catch up.
Hoppip proceeds to remind itself that it has a damaged head leaf by smashing into another tree.

[Both Flynn and Fran shared a look with one another. He breaths in deeply through his nose, and closes his eyes briefly. Re-opening them, he walks over to the Grass-Type, gently picking it up.]
You're going to hurt yourself more if you try to get back in the air.
no subject
Hoppip indeed is light as a feather. It feels as if it might blow out of Flynn's arms with the lightest breath of air.]
no subject
I'm going to bring you with back to the city with me, okay?
[He turns to head back to Union. He holds it carefully as not to hurt the Hoppip even more, but firmly enough that it won't slip out and possibly run into another tree.]
no subject
Given that it's 95% air, it will also be OK, medically speaking, after a bit.
...Whether or not he intended to, Flynn has successfully bonded with Hoppip! Hoppip is Level 4 but the rest of its stats are up to your discretion.]

...
[He stands very still.]

[He cries out in surprise at having the sticky substance hit him right in the face and reaches up to pull the offending stuff off. Fran is immediately on her guard.]

What are you trying to pull?
[The question is directed to the Silcoon.]
no subject
[The Silcoon meanwhile is attempting to string-sling back into the trees]
no subject
[Nu-uh, he is not letting you get away so you can try to body slam him again. Flynn runs forward and attempts to grab the Silcoon before it can take off again.]
no subject
Villain! We won't let you have your way with our home!
no subject
I wasn't trying to! We were just passing through.

[So his face was enough to warrant an attempted body slam after using it to swing through the air?]
You attacked me because of my face?

How?
[His tone is noticeably flat.]

[A city to be more exact.]

Do you need a sidekick?

[He lets go of the Silcoon. Thinking it over, he had Pokemon companions already but...]
I... wouldn't be against it.

CASCOON! And Scaryface!

I see.

[Flynn has bonded with Silcoon! It is level 7, nature and abilities can be determined as you wish]
