Ugh, this sucks. Why do I have to patrol? It's so early...

[About 11AM, there's a long haired boy in a Swords of the Savior uniform walking around one of the more populated parks. There's really no telling why they've let him wear his hair down, all that red flying everywhere. At least the flower petals and stuff have gone, that was annoying. He kicks a nearby rock in irritation before flopping down on a bench, not noticing the lady nearby who'd been walking towards it to sit with her baby... He doesn't even notice her huff and walk off. There's an Eevee in a cute sweater that's been trying to keep up with the seventeen year old, who finally jumps up onto the remaining space next to Luke and chimes in with a squeaky little 'Vee!' Luke groans.]

Don't add to it, Thing. You're so annoying!

[He tries to shove Mieu off the bench, but he just curls up under Luke's arm instead and he gives a dramatic sigh. His life is horrible.]

I should just go home already. Dad's probably at work, I could get away with it...

Like I'd want to slum it up downtown anyway... that sounds even worse.

[He rolls his eyes when the man walks away. Of course he can't do anything about Luke, he's a Fabre. His family practically owns the council.]

And last week was awful! Why didn't we just get rid of those Pokemon? I had pollen in my hair for weeks...

First, simple logistics - the manpower required would have effectively shut down the city, including hair salons. Secondly, they were pests, but they weren't harming anyone.

How can a bunch of dumb flower Pokemon shut down a city? That doesn't make sense.

[At least Ky's gotten Luke to stand up again... he looks annoyed still.]

They were bad for people with allergies...

Not the pokemon themselves, but the effort to remove them. But fon Fabre...

Just remember you have to do the work like everyone else - it's not always the most exciting job, but it's an important one.

How is walking around looking at people being boring any more work than sitting and watching people being boring?

Because when you are walking, you are more actively engaged in your task and less likely to doze off or daydream. And there are places you cannot see from the bench.

And part of the Swords' job is that of a deterrent, an impulsive criminal will think twice about committing crime if he sees an active and alert patrol.

[Luke just grumbles, watching him go... and going back to his route. With a guy like that around, he couldn't skive off work. Mieu hurries to catch up as Luke tramps off in the opposite direction.]
