At around 8 in the morning, a shooting star landed outside of Union's front gates. It left no crater, and didn't even make a lot of noise, but still attracted a fair amount of attention.

Anyone coming to investigate would find a young girl with red hair and a simple dress lying on the ground as if asleep, along with a set of shattered shackles. At the sound of another person approaching, she sat up and blinked a few times, looking around curiously.

[Later, video. The strange girl bows formally before the camera.]

For taking me in when I had nothing, I offer my sincerest thanks. As repayment, I wish to make myself useful, and so I also offer my services in whatever manner you would find useful.

[If they're sniping at each other like this, then there probably isn't anything to worry about. After a moment's thought, however, she quietly stops to grab the shattered shackles.]

[Atsuro throws another teasing remark at Kaido, but then notices what Morgiana's doing.]

Oh, miss Morgiana. Do you need those?

[Atsuro drawing attention to the shackles saves him from having to answer that (he's not sure how anyway. "Of course not"? "Yeah I was worried, you just up and disappeared early in the morning"? "Mari'd be upset if you got hurt"?)

Shackles, huh. A prisoner?]

I don't know, yet. They hold a lot of memories...

[Though by her tone, they may not be GOOD memories.]

... I think you should keep them then. I think... it's important to remember where you came from, whether to remember why you left at all or to see how far you've come from there.

[Quietly trying to nudge everyone towards going to the city.]

[He nods to Kaido, indicating that they should get going, and sets off towards the city first.]

Oh yeah, miss Morgiana... You'll probably need to pick up a job, too. Is there anything you're good at?

You look pretty good at fighting. Might do well with the Guard or the Rangers.

I would rather not fight if I didn't have to.

But I am very strong. I'm sure there is a use for such people.

Plenty! You could probably be a smith... or a delver - that job's dangerous, but I'm sure you wouldn't have much trouble with it. And if that doesn't work, it's always easy to find work that requires strength, even if it's something as mundane as moving furniture.

I can hook you up with some of the Delvers if you want to try that. Used to work with them.

Moving sounds like a good idea though. You can always pick it up part time while you look for a job you like.

What does a Delver do?

Delvers collect materials for building and engineering, or recover old artifacts and technology--I think it's a really interesting job! Most of them work in the Old City - there are catacombs under Union, see - but some go out in the wild to collect materials or explore places like ruins. It's pretty dangerous, though - the Old City is unstable and there is always a risk of a cave-in, and in the wild there are wild Pokemon and other dangers. Like marshes, I guess.

It's a pretty fun job as long as you don't mind dark places.
