[It has been a long journey from her mountainous home in the far north, but Absol has finally reached the front gates of her destination: Union, home of the illusive "humans".

She was actually quite lucky: noticing the odd behaviour of a swarm of Beedrill, she had stalked their route until they had emerged into the clearing where Union was based. The Beedrill seemed to be drawn to the voluminous blossoms that coated the city in unnatural amounts: was this even normal, or some product of human foolishness? Her answers would lay inside, she decided.

Seeing no reason for caution or cowardice, she approached the front gates with a fearless stride. Of course, her lack of Warp Band was more than enough reason for the guards to take notice, and move to stop her. Ahh, she recognised this: the alphas looking to defend their pack from outsiders. In that case, it was time to be diplomatic by asserting herself.

With one movement she drew the jagged naginata from her back into a battle-ready position, and declared in her most powerful and dominant voice:]

My name is Absol! I seek entry into your nest, humans!

[Unfortunately, her drawing her weapon comes off as more a aggressive demand and Flynn's hand falls on the handle of his blade that hangs at his side. Fixating his full attention on Absol, he watched for any sudden movements in case she she decided to strike.]

[He doesn't take his hand off of his sword but some of the tension leaves him.]

[When Rangers aren't out on missions, they're often on wall duty. And Eren needed to do something resembling a real job, even if all he wanted to do was sit in his bathtub at home, or in the hot springs at the fire habitat. But the walls needed watching, even if nothing. Ever. Happened.

... Except today. Today something was happening. So there's a rather ragged looking shiny Skarmory glaring daggers at Absol and her blade. Molting season, you know. Eren's missing a patch of feathers on his breast and a few of his sharp sword primary feathers have fallen out in preparation for being replaced. But he still has the most distal, and he uses them to threaten her right back. He's in an even worse mood than usual.]

Yeah? And why should we let you when you're threatening us with your weapon? Drop it and we'll talk.

[Ah, one of those human-bred Pokemon she's heard stories about. And judging from the abnormal colour and how he's missing most of his feathers, the conditions in Union must be worse than she ever thought. How pathetic.]

Hmph. Do you de-claw all the Pokemon before you let them into your precious city?

[haven't you ever heard of molting, GOSH. He doesn't look THAT bad.

[She flashes a grin and sheathes her weapon, clearly believing that she has the upper hand here.]

I've got no interest in hurting any of you. I'm here about the Savior.

[When she puts away her weapons, so does Eren, folding his wings. He snerks a little]

You're a few hundred years too late, unfortunately. But this is the ancestral home of the Savior and we have lots of literature and stuff on her.

That's good enough. Where is this "literature"?

Library. [a pause. He suspects this woman is a wild-born shifter, so--] One of the big buildings with books inside. [he tilts his head, looking at her with one eye] ... Can you read?

[Okay you just said a bunch of unfamiliar words.]

[After her ringing announcment, a monferno dropped down so it was hanging upsidedown next to her and from his tail from a nearby tree branch.]

Yesh! [Okay, that caught her off guard and she instinctively swipes her weapon in that direction, pulling her attack when she realises that it's a Monferno.]

[Ahem.] I-I knew that. But humans are strange. Who knows how they'll react if they think I'm just some... egg thief?

[Eeheehee, he loves it when they jump like that. He ducks over the swing, though.]

Do you WANT to steal some eggs? I wouldn't blame you, eggs can be tasty.

[He climbs back up to on top of the branch for a moment so he can look around...then points off vaguely westward.]

[Her demeanour brightens at this.]

Really? I wasn't expecting... I mean, I thought the only Pokemon around here would be the weaklings raised by the humans.
