The rumors and casual invitations started a long while ago, in the wake of Team Evolution's departure, but it took a while to nail down a date, and to shine up the rarely used public areas on the lower floor of the Łukasiewicz family estate, two floors on top of one of the towers towards the outskirts of the residential district. Paper invitations came several days ago, to damn near everyone with an address (though of course, the nobles' are on finer paper, hand-written by Feliks's grandparents and properly sealed.) Though everyone is invited, the general public has also been reminded to dress well and behave themselves presentably--it isn't every day you're invited into a noble house, is it?

Even for the nobles, honestly, it's rare to see this one. The heads of the family are aged, and while they often appear and are pleasant enough at everyone else's events, they have little energy for arranging their own in general.

They seem to have gone all out on this one, though, perhaps because the first ball of the spring demands it and perhaps because they're celebrating so many things at once. First there was Feliks's performance in the tournament, then his evolution, and of course they're still looking to find him a nice match. And spring, quite suddenly, is in the air, the weather pleasantly warm and the balcony gardens overflowing with blossoming flowers--a small legion of gardeners has been brought in to keep the plants under control, actually, given their overabundance lately.

The food and drinks are fantastic, varied, and plentiful, laid out at strategic points around the wide, gleaming dance floor. The best musicians from all over the city have been hired to encourage people to make use of it, and to keep the atmosphere nice and light.

So come on in--talk, dance, eat all the little berry pastry things, and welcome the spring!

Not a fan of the host? [ You have more of Haruka's attention now, though her hands are still gathering and preparing two cups of tea. That was a curious reaction. ]

What? [Fai blinks a bit, and then shakes his head.] Ah, no, that's not it. He's a very good friend, in fact.

[And even though his skin glows faintly in the muted light, it's still possible to see how a fain blush rises on his cheeks.]

No, it's just the whole... well, trying to get him married. It's a bit awkward, and it's certainly not going to work. It's just embarrassing for everyone involved.

[ Ohhhh. Oh. Oh.

Haruka hides an amused smile behind a concerned one. Poor guy. ] You're a good friend for coming to support him, though. And who knows?

[ She drops a sugar cube into one of the teas. ] It's still his party. You can reclaim it however you want.

We~ell, I suppose you could say that.

[He laughs, a bit embarrassed. More like a good friend coming to stare longingly and glare a hole in the back of the head of any lady attempting to flirt with a mortified Feliks. Wow, that's just sad.]

And as much as this party could do with some livening up, I'm not sure Feliks would thank me for it. [A bleak little smile.] What with his grandparents being here, and... well, my family too. I fear that's a Scene waiting to happen.

The air's fresher outside. [ The only thing stuffier than this room are most of the people in it. Haruka agrees with this guy - Flourite, hah! She knew she'd get it at some point - but she also knows that this is their problem, and it's complicated. The best she can offer is support couched in cryptic smalltalk.

Fortunately she rocks at cryptic. ]

Oh, don't think I haven't considered it.

[He laughs a bit sheepishly, running a hand through his feathers.]

I don't like being inside much anyway. The air feels... too still. [He sighs.] But it wouldn't be fair to bail on a friend like that, right?

[He grins.] But maybe I'll Teleport him out of here if the party gets too much. He's not much good with being social anyway.

[ Is this guy Flying/Psychic? And is she supposed to feel some sort of connection to him because they share a typing (if partially)? It's interesting in a trivia sort of way.

Besides, she likes that last idea of his, so she grins back. Haruka rarely stays till the end of parties herself. ] That's one way to end an evening. You can say it's your present.

[Fai has personally never put much in store by typing, specifically because his family cares so very much about it. It's true that Dark types make him a bit uncomfortable still, but he tries to not let that sort of thing affect his thinking.

Now he grins, tilting his head.]

You are inciting me to rebellious behaviour, miss. I'm pretty sure both our families would be properly horrified.

Maybe they could use it. [ She winks. Honestly, dude, whatever you choose is your prerogative. But she's never given a darn what people think of her and she's not about to start now. ] Good luck.

[ And she means that no matter what you pick. Heck, you might need more luck if you stay. ]
