3rd Note [SOS & Action]

[Sometime late in the day, a distress signal activates from the bottom of the Deep Canyon! There is no accompanying video or text.]

Action
[About an hour after her unintended SOS went out, Eucliwood began to wake. The last thing she remembered was walking on a narrow section of rock on her way up the far side of the canyon. At least until it gave way beneath her. Thankfully, the impact knocked her out pretty much instantly.

However, she could tell almost right away that she was in trouble. The pain was there of course, but she could deal with a lot of pain. Her leg was bent at an awkward angle. While she'd felt the pain of broken bones before, this was the real deal. Eu grimaced as she attempted to straighten her leg out. Letting it stay like that wasn't a good idea. She needed to try and splint it or something.

While she sent out her Furret to search for usable wood for a makeshift splint, all she could do was wait, completely unaware that her Duskull had sent out an SOS while she was unconscious.]

((ooc: While it's already been planned out that Jinxie will come to Eucliwood's aid, people are welcome to try and contact her through text and video.))

[Thankfully, Jinxie was paying attention to her Warp Band when the SOS went out, and wasted no time in heading down to the bottom of the canyon. She's got her own Duskull by her side helping to guide her down, and between that and her own sixth sense for finding Ghost types, she's able to track down Eu's Duskull with relative ease. Eventually, she reaches the area where her friend is waiting.]

Eucliwood! Are you okay?

[Jinxie would have had just as much luck tracking Eu with that sense. Even so, she'll find Eu sitting awkwardly on a rock outcropping, one leg splayed out while she attempts to splint it with a few pieces of wood and some vines.

Of course, her concentration is disrupted when she hears Jinxie. Wait. Why was she here? The giggle her Duskull emits turns out to be a good answer as any.

It takes her a moment to pull out her notebook.]

I'm okay.

[Jinxie shakes her head, frowning.]

No you're not. You need help.

It doesn't hurt that bad.

[She can imagine worse.]

It looks pretty bad. I'll help you get back to the city so you can go to the hospital.

[This time it's Eu's turn to shake her head.]

I will be fine. No need to worry.

No! You need help. You're in no condition to be traveling like this!

[Jinxie is not taking no for an answer this time. Activating her Warp Band, she summons a Sigilyph, a Drifloon, and a Tyrantrum into the space in the cavern.]

Quark, Waff, help her get onto Rex's back safely.

[Honestly, Eucliwood isn't used to someone wanting to help her. The few people she'd come into contact with before she accidentally returned to Union seemed all too fine with avoiding her.]

Why?

[She would probably have been fine out here alone, even injured like this. It would be a very painful few months, but she could survive.]

You're injured. Would you really expect me to just leave you here like this?

[And assuming she doesn't fight it, the two Flying types will gingerly lift her from the ground without aggravating her injury, setting her down on the Tyrantrum's back.]

[There's a moment of pause, but Eucliwood does respond. Her answer is short, and from her point of view, honest. Eu wouldn't want anyone risking themselves for her sake.]

Yes.

[She doesn't put up any resistance, although she does visibly wince when she's set down. Not a moment later, there's a very upset looking Cubone that comes out of a cluster of rocks and repeatedly tries to jump up the Tyrantrum's leg.]

Can you lift him?

I'm not leaving you until I make sure you're going to be all right.

[And down comes the Sigilyph to give the Cubone a lift. It sets the little guy down next to Eucliwood.]

There's no persuading you otherwise?

[Eu already knows the answer to this, but she's looking more for clarification than anything else. She gives the Cubone a gentle pat on the head.]

[Jinxie shakes her head.]

No. You're my friend. Friends help each other.

Is that what it's like?

Uh huh. That's what they do.

I see.

[Eucliwood remains silent for a moment while she mulls it over. She's never really had any friends before. It's kind of hard when you try to keep yourself distanced from everyone.]

Just try to hold still. Rex will carry you back to the city. And I'll be right here too.

[With her other Pokemon helping them navigate the canyon.]

[Eu just nods after a moment, clearly resigned to this. Sure, she could probably get away, but she didn't want to fight. If Jinxie really thought her leg was that bad, she'd let her take care of it.

Yoruno will just hover around, but Jinxie may or may not notice a Furret following them around too.]

[Dokuro will hang out with Yoruno. Sup.

Jinxie follows along on foot, looking back every so often as she catches sight of the Furret, but otherwise keeps quiet while they travel. It would be a little hard to read Eu's handwritten notes from this distance while walking anyway.]

[Yay ghosties!

Eu remains silent, as is the norm, which leads to a rather awkward silence, save for the occasional sounds from their Pokémon. If she thought Jinxie would be able to read her notes, she would have tried to continue with them, but the distance was an obvious issue.]

[Eventually, Dokuro will float over and poke at the notepad.]

[Eu will stare curiously at the small ghost, but she doesn't move. Rather, she closes her eyes for a moment.

Then Dokuro will feel her questioning, sort of. She can't exactly speak into minds, but she can emote. It causes Eu a sharp moment of pain, but at this point, it doesn't bother her too much.]

[Dokuro tilts his head for a moment, and then mimes the act of writing and tearing a sheet off the notepad before pointing down at Jinxie.]

[Oh. Well, that was a possibility. Might as well give it a try.

She jots down a brief note before holding it up for the Duskull.]

You came all the way from the city?

[And Dokuro flies it on down to Jinxie, who reads it and then calls back up toward Eu.]

We were already out training.

[That's somewhat of a relief. And made more sense, really. It had only been an hour or so since she'd fallen.]

I see.

[And once more, she holds up the slip of paper for Dokuro to relay to Jinxie.]

[Jinxie reads it and nods.]

I would have still come anyway.

It could have been dangerous.

[Dokuro just keeps on ferrying the notes back and forth.]

It's okay. Like I said before, friends help each other. Everyone needs it sometimes.

[Yoruno could probably do it too, but he'd likely turn it into some sort of game.]

I am your friend, then?

[Honestly, it's a small miracle Dokuro hasn't already done that himself.]

Uh huh. If you want to be. I think of you as one of mine.

[He's clearly going to be under the best influence over the course of Eu's stay. Thankfully the rest of Eucliwood's Pokémon are pretty chill.]

I've never had friends.

[Jinxie frowns at that note for a moment before replying.]

...Can I be your first, then?

[Eucliwood pauses for a moment, thinking it over. On one hand, she really wants this. On the other, she doesn't want to see anyone get hurt. There's always the possibility of her slipping up and speaking or something.

However, she thinks it unlikely that Jinxie will let her just wander back out into the wilderness, at least so long as her leg is injured. The risk would be there anyway.]

Are you sure?

I'm sure.

[No hesitation there at all.]

Very well.

[Jinxie may not be able to see it, but there's just a very, very faint smile on Eu's face.]

[And Jinxie smiles too.]

[And the crickets are a chirping.]
