Action/Video - all week on the Tropical Island

Um... if anyone needs me this week, I'll be training on the island. I'm taking Dokuro with me, so don't worry. I'll check in every once in a while so people know I'm safe.

[Action/Video; Tropical Island; all week]

[Jinxie's been doing a pretty good job with adventuring and bonding with lots of different Pokemon, but she's met a lot of people who are pretty personally capable even without their Pokemon around, and sometimes it makes her feel like she's lacking something. She isn't strong like Melaka, she isn't in the Rangers like Quinn, she's not a shifter like Ran, she's not a noble like Asemu or Lux, and she was born into a branch family so she doesn't have channeling powers like her cousin Maya.

So what can Jinxie Tenma do that's special?

That's what she's here to find out. Anyone adventuring around on the island at any point during the current week will find Jinxie there, sitting on a rock in a purple one-piece swimsuit with her legs crossed, meditating under a waterfall. She'd always heard that the old mystics used to do this kind of thing to find spiritual enlightenment, and as someone with the Ghost and Psychic types who specializes in charms, it seemed as good an idea as anything else.

Only her Duskull, Dokuro, is with Jinxie while she's out here - and only for protection in case any wild Pokemon should happen to draw too near. Jinxie wants to do this on her own this time, to prove that she's capable of it. For once, Dokuro isn't teasing her or interrupting her while she tries to concentrate, seeming to sense how serious she is about this. She does take periodic breaks to eat, sleep, and check in with everyone through the Warp Band's network, though, so it's possible to talk to her to find out what the heck she's doing.]

[Action and Accidental Video; Tropical Island; end of week]

[And anyone present at the end of the week or watching the feed coming from Jinxie's Warp Band will witness something miraculous happen. As Jinxie's meditation draws to a close near the sunset of the last day, the familiar light associated with a Pokemon's evolution begins to shine out from underneath the charm she usually wears on her forehead. Jinxie herself doesn't even notice until the light has burst brilliantly forth and faded once again. The charm peels off and drifts away in the breeze, revealing a glowing brand in the shape of the symbol normally painted on the charm. And when Jinxie opens her eyes, the irises are red like her Duskull.]

Dokuro...? Wh-what happened? I feel... different.

[The little Duskull seems as pleased as anything, floating down excitedly, its skull mask twisted into the equivalent of a smile as it circles around her head. Jinxie holds up one of her charms, which is now glowing with the same soft light. In a burst of excitement, she jumps up and runs over to where she had her Warp Band sitting on a nearby rock.]

W-was that recording...? Did you all see? I did it! I really did it!

Keep up that wit and I'll think you're a slowking.

[Just gonna roll that eye-orb in a big circle here.]

I'm just going to assume you haven't been paying attention.

[With each inhale, Maya keeps her eyes half-open as to monitor Jinxie. She straightens her back, breathing in long and slow, and then begins to speak again.]

Now... every time you breathe in, visualise that breath. See it flowing in through your nose and filling up your lungs, and then see it flowing out. All that breath is energy.

At least I'd still be a king!

[shi shi shiii~]

But yeah, nothing much has happened. She just sits there under the water a lot.

[Jinxie cracks her eye open every so often to watch Maya too, just to make sure she's getting the rhythm right. But once she's got it down, she closes them again.]

Okay... right. Flowing.

[Breathe... in. And out.]

A king without a castle. But, in any case... perhaps this will give things a bit of a jumpstart.

[Shi watches interestedly, floating side to side.]

Once you've visualised every part of that energy... I want you to feel every part of your body.

Breathe less and less.... until you're breathing only what you need... and from the bottom up, slowly distance yourself from your body...

Quiet the energy in your toes, in your feet, your angles, your legs... slowly up through your thighs, hips, belly... your fingers, elbows, arms... your chest, and neck... until all that you are is that slow, flowing channel of energy.

Those two will figure it out.

[Dokuro's doing likewise at this point. He likes to joke around, but he really does believe in Jinxie.]

In my toes... feet... legs...

[Jinxie quietly whispers Maya's instructions to herself. Her toes twitch, followed by each part of her body individually as she focuses on each part, feeling her muscles tense and release each in turn. It takes a deep breath or two as she goes, but she does manage to slow down her rhythm.]

That's it... now... open that energy up. Feel every bit of energy that you have, and let it fill up your whole being, in place of everything you just let go.

I'm gonna stop talking in a sec, okay?

[She peers through one half-closed eye, hoping she's still helping.]

And I want you to just... keep breathing, and focus on the sound of the water... until you feel your energy fill up all that sound around you.

[Maya, however, would be meditating to keep her own energy out of Jinxie's way.]

Hopefully it won't mean we'll be here for days, too.

[Shi sighs a little. Maya has other obligations to take care of, and Shi can't help but be exhausted from 'babysitting' sometimes.]

Mm'kay.

[Jinxie's response is quiet, accompanied by a small nod as she concentrates on the exercises. It's hard to tell if it's working, exactly, but she's at least managing to keep her breathing slow and steady.]

C'mon, lighten up, it's nice out here. You could use a vacation.

[Plus, Dokuro's a little lonely with Jinxie spending most of her time under the falls.]

[While Maya focuses on keeping her energy as compact as possible and out of Jinxie's way, she extends a bit of her conscience as well-- trying to monitor Jinxie's progress without opening her eyes or disturbing her cousin.

She focuses until the sound encompassing them is nothing more than a barrier between themselves and their pokémon, as not to be distracted, detecting Jinxie's energy with ease. She's sure Jinxie will have this type energy thing down in no time.]

Perhaps, but this isn't how I intended to go on one, [Shi admits, a ghastly sigh from under her mask.] Though I am getting a bit of a break, anyway. Kika has to level as high as I am, and then the little moppets after her.

[It's a little harder for Jinxie since she hasn't been formally trained in this kind of thing, but she's doing her best. The fact that she's able to concentrate this strongly is probably a good sign.]

You're lucky you only have them to worry about. Jinxie picks up new friends almost every week. The house is getting a little crowded.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade. Or, I suppose, you can get over it.

[Shi gives a snicker of her own, and Maya keeps monitoring Jinxie's progress. It's hard not to break her own focus to smile; Jinxie's really serious about this!]

I could always move in with you two. The Kurain Master's house is pretty big, right?

[Maya will eventually feel a familiar type of energy welling up from inside Jinxie and spreading throughout her body. It's faint, but it's building slowly.]

Not big enough for your hijinks. [Another eye-roll.] And we all know how much you'd miss Jinxie.

[Maya has to try hard not to get excited as Jinxie begins to progress. Instead, she simply draws in a deeper breath, allowing the excitement to pass and allowing herself to regain control.

From that point, she begins to give off as much positive energy as she can-- good vibes, good wishes, good images-- anything she can think of to project a sense of positivity into their space.]

I do like to live large. But you're right, I'd miss the kid.

[Jinxie lets out a long deep breath, possibly in reaction to Maya's energy, before starting back into the slow rhythm. She's probably well on her way here, though it'll be a few days yet before she has her breakthrough.]

Big old softie. Why is anyone ever scared by you?

[Amused, Shi's side-to-side rocking matches up to her hollow laugh, like the sound of marbles rolling in a ridged shell.]

Besides, she needs you around. You're both always welcome to visit, I suppose.

[Maya seems to relax; Jinxie's doing so well from just a few pointers.

...For the sake of not getting scolded by Shi for skipping out, though, she'll continue meditating along with Jinxie for a while more. After all, keeping one's own energy in check is just as important as learning to unleash it.]

Nobody really understands me but you.

[His single red eye winks out for a second before his laughter joins her own.]

I'll drag her over sometime.

[Meanwhile, in and out, in and out... Jinxie's breathing slowly continues, in perfect rhythm with the pulse of energy inside her.]

It's a curse.

[Between them, they're causing a chorus of creepy laughter-- it's a good thing the girls have the waterfall to block the distraction.]

Good. You and those shuppets are sure to burn the house down together.

[For a few moments longer, Maya meditates-- but then resolves to get to her feet. If she can break meditation and act (quietly) around Jinxie without disturbing her, she knows Jinxie is well enough to go about on her own. Maya makes a few slow, quiet circles about her cousin, monitoring her closely.]

Hey, Jinxie's house is still standing, isn't it? Give me some credit here!

[At least for the moment, Jinxie is still fully in her meditative trance. Her breathing doesn't slow or speed up for even a moment as Maya stands up.]

Only because you have to go back to it. I have to be careful, you know.

[Jinxie's calmness makes Maya grin-- she's doing awesome. Now, so long as Maya can sneak away without falling or something, she's sure Jinxie will keep it up.

Rather than risk backing away, she walks away normally, turning every few paces to check on Jinxie.]

It's hard to mess with anybody now that she's got that Solrock around anyway. I swear thing never sleeps. It's creepy.

[Yup, doin' fine over here, cousin! Jinxie's well on her way.]

A ghost being creeped out by something. That's new.

[Shi turns around as Maya approaches, content that her trainer seems happy.]

Looks like we're good to go! You two hangin' out?

Yeah, me and the old lady here, you know how it is.

[Oh Dokuro.]

You shouldn't be so unflattering to girls, yanno, Dokuro.

[A theatrical huff, and Maya crosses her arms.]

It's true. Old ladies can sometimes make little boys cry.

[A comment that makes Maya snort attractively, of course.]

She knows I love her.

[Another single-eyed wink as he elbows Shi with his wispy ghost arm.]

And sometimes I love you, too.

[The ghost's glowing eye rolls about good-naturedly, and Maya rolls her eyes as well.

With a comical gag motion, she leans against the wall nearby.]

I guess I'll stick around a little while more in case she needs help... But you gotta make sure she gets to eat and all of that when we're gone, okay?

[Dokuro just waves an arm.]

I will, I will. You girls go enjoy yourself.

Alright. If you promise, I'll make sure Aunt Morgan leaves out those berry puffs for you again.

[And by 'leaves out'... she totally means she's going to steal them.]

We'll see you later!

[Both the girls give the ghost a wave as they head toward the exit.]
