Plot Description: Weird signal things are happening in the Forest. Quinn gets the mission to investigate and while normally she does things alone, she invites a few friends for backup. Just in case. You never know these days.
Warnings/Notes: Nothing to note yet; will update if necessary!

[This morning, Quinn rather got an interesting mission in the forest. An unknown source messing with the signal in the forest. Given with the last time weird signals happened, it's a bit suspicious.

And a rare moment in her life to decide to invite a few friends to explore the forest with her along with checking out the problem. They agreed on a time to meet up and a place to meet before exploring. When everything was set and they were ready, they set off to solve the problem. Even if she's been high and low through these woods multiple times, she might learn something new about it.

It's just been wandering around the woods, going whatever the interference may be.]

[Jinxie isn't too worried about this mission. It's in the forest, she's been out here a thousand times. You wouldn't really know it to look at her, though, considering her face is more or less permanently worried looking. Her Duskull seems much calmer as it floats along next to her.]

I hope it's not another weird machine.

I thought that we found all of TeVo's machines.

[There was the possibility that it missed one, but why would it start giving them problems now?]

If it was a machine, why is it making problems now instead right during that week or after Team Evolution left?

[She isn't sure how everyone else would react if it's another machine, but it's not going to be pretty sounding. She continues to move on ahead on the planned path.]

Only one way to find out.

We still don't know how they all work yet. But it could be something else, too. I guess we'll know soon.

[Jinxie follows along behind Quinn.]

The forest is deep and lush. Quinn catches sight of an odd Pokemon, one she's never seen before but it dashes down a narrow path - one that would have easily been missed had attention not been drawn to it.

Hey!

[What was that Pokémon? Her eyes quickly caught the blur of it, but what's interesting is that it revealed a path she has never seen before. She quickly moves her track to start to follow it, despite that it might not lead to where their goal is. It's might be a hint.

Sorry Jinxie, Lux, but your friend here is going right down that path now instead of the planned one.]

Quinn, wait up!

[She has had bad experiences with groups splitting up like this, so, instead, Lux is going to follow. Quinn probably knew where she was going anyway.]

Did you see something?

[Jinxie jogs along after the two of them, glancing back and forth as they make their way down the path.]

The path is narrow and winding, with the ever-present danger of branches at eye level smacking you in the face. As you move, Quinn gets a quick glimpse - it's green and looks leafy. Must be a grass-type.

As you reach the end of the path, a clearing opens up with a giant rock covered in moss and grass. The clearing feels odd. Peaceful.

You're also getting some interference on your warp bands.

[Must be, but it still looked like nothing she has seen before. As she reached the end of her path, she does approach and kneel at the rock to investigate. Not touching it, just looking at it and her Warp Band from a reasonable distance.]

Hm.

[Her eyes scan around the clearing, hoping that Pokémon will come back.]

[Instead of concerning herself with the pokemon Quinn was tracking, Lux focuses on her warp band. That was weird, it was just fine a moment ago...

It couldn't be that rock, could it? It looked more like a marker than anything. Still, curiosity gets the best of her, and she starts walking toward it, constantly checking her warp band for any changes.]

...Is it that rock?

[Jinxie looks down at her own Warp Band, then at the other two, and back at the rock again.]

It feels kind of like the Forest Shrine here. Quiet and peaceful.

A trio of strange Pokemon nimbly alight upon the rock.

What are you humans doing trespassing here!?

[KNEW IT, IT WAS A POKEMON SHE HAS NEVER SEEN BEFORE. Quinn stands up, still keeping a respectful distance since they are... trespassing... kind of... BUT WITH REASON.]

We are sorry for trespassing, but we are here to investigate an interference with our city's signal in this forest.

Can you tell us about yourselves and this rock?

[Lux stops and backs up. She can't really understand the Leafeon, so she'll let Quinn speak on their behalf.]

Is it some sort of special stone...?

[Considering Jinxie can understand the Leafeon too, she steps up next to Quinn to see if she can help out.]

We are the guardians of this, the Holy Stone. It holds the secret of our power, and we will not allow it to come to harm.

I assure you that none of us wish to harm you or your sacred stone. We will leave as soon as we can understand the problem with our signal.

[Valor just tilts his head, who has been quiet during most of the trip so the Rufflet dares himself to speak.]

Hey, what kind of power does it have?

[Trying to understand what she can from the comments from Quinn and Jinxie, Lux frowns.]

Something here is interfering with our ability to communicate with pokemon and people in our home. We promise that we mean you no harm, we only came here to find out what it might be.

[Jinxie nods at Quinn and Lux's responses, looking back at the Leafeon trio.]

That's right. The people in our city live side by side with Pokemon. We would never disturb your home.

The Pokemon consider.

This stone fuels our evolution. What do you intend to do?

(OOC: You were all given small beacons. Upon identification of the signal's interference, you can set the beacon in a secure area near the source. The beacon will allow the signal to break through unimpeded, but it does need to be set up in a way that it will not be removed easily or disturbed. The beacons are small, they fit in the palm of your hand and are disc-shaped. Only one is necessary)

Really? And what kind of Pokémon exactly are you?

[While Valor chats away, Quinn digs into her bag for the little beacon that she was given to before the start of the mission. She shows it to the Leafeons.]

We intend to place this in the area hoping that the signal will clear up. Is it alright if we place them around your rock? If it has a negative impact on your sacred home, I promise that we will remove it.

[Jinxie does likewise, showing the Leafeon that it's the same thing.]

You can watch us do it so that you can be sure we're not disturbing anything important. I think burying them just under the ground would work.

We are Leafeon. We will allow it, but if you desecrate our stone you will not be welcome here.

Wait, so you are another one of those things that Eevees can evolve into?! Geez, the list never ends.

I understand. Here.

[Quinn just sets her beacon down in front of the rock, letting it settle in before checking her Warp Band for a reaction. Meanwhile Valor is just looking at the Leafeon group, making sure that they don't attack or anything.]

The beacon works, there is no longer any interference from this spot. The Leafeon don't move to attack, but they are peering at the beacon with interest.

[Lux pulls the third beacon from her pack and holds it out for the Leafeon, should they want to investigate them/give them their seal of approval.]

[Jinxie looks down at her Warp Band and smiles.]

It worked! So, um... we should probably secure it a little more so it doesn't get moved.

[She looks to Quinn and Lux in turn.]

Do you think we should place all three to be safe, or just the one?

Putting all three of them around the area wouldn't hurt, in case one of them starts to not work... If that's alright with the Leafeons.

[The Leafeon, however, are sniffing curiously at the device in Lux's hands. They don't appear to know quite what to make of it]

[Oh no, they're actually really cute. Lux bends down to their level.]

It's okay, it won't hurt you.

[Meanwhile, by this point Jinxie has taken to walking around the area to see where would be a good place to put her beacon.]

[Checking her band, the signal seems to be working. So why not chat with the rock guardians for a little bit?]

Are you the only Leafeons in this area?

Not that we know of.

While Lux is distracted, another Leafeon sneaks behind her and starts rifling through her food pack. Meanwhile, while Jinxie is looking for a good spot to put her beacon, the third Leafeon is sneaking up behind Jinxie and having a go at her food pack as well.

[Whoa! The sudden weight on her back bowls her over, and she drops the beacon. What was that about? She quickly looks over her shoulder.]

H-hey! Get out of there!

[Oh silly Leafeons, you know that there is an un-distracted fourth party here, right? Valor turned his head for a second yet he does catch the two Leafeons going through the food packs and lets out a very loud squawk that certainly can take attention.]

Hey, get your noses out of their food packs! That's not yours!

Valor! [Not to snap at him, but that was right in her ear you dumb bird. After checking her own food pack is safe, she turns back to the Leafeons.]

Are you guys hungry? I assume that you would have a lot of food in this forest.

[Jinxie's too busy with the beacon to notice immediately, but when she hears Valor squawking she turns around.]

Oh... did you want some food? All you had to do was ask, you know.

[She does have a little more than she turned out to need, since she wasn't sure how long this trip would take or how many of her Pokemon she'd need to use. Jinxie reaches in and takes out a few Pokemon treats from the breeding center, holding them out in her flat palm toward the Leafeon.]

When Valor squawks, the Leafeon scatter, hiding behind the rock. When Jinxie offers the treats, one of them darts out and grabs them before retreating again.

[Thanks, ~~Obama~~ Valor.]

Great... Hey, you guys can come out. I won't let him attack you guys, he's just being defensive.

[Valor just rolls his eyes like he did nothing wrong.]

I'm sorry if I startled you! It's all right, we don't mind! There's enough food for everyone!

That's right, it's okay! Here.

[Jinxie takes out some more food, setting it down in front of her and moving several steps back to give the Leafeon some space.]

The Leafeon tentatively look out, before trotting out and digging into the offered food. They look quite happy.

You should have just asked!

[Lux pulled her pack to her front, fishing through and pulling out a few of her rations. She broke a few large pieces off, offering them out with a smile.]

Here, we can share. I'm sorry we don't have more, but there's plenty more where we're from.

The Leafeon squeak happily at the offering.

They will also now follow you and not leave you alone.

[Congratulations! You've completed the log! You all get a Leafeon with Solar Beam. They are level 25.]
