The three (point five) soldiers of the outer solar system have arrived!

[ sup, everybody? Have an abortive (?) attempt at gathering news and information because somebody can’t speak candidly if her life depended on it. ]

We have been gone for a while, hm? Seeing how the place is still standing, I suppose nothing of consequence has happened.

Who are you talking to…?

[ this voice doesn’t appear to have heard that former one. ] Anyway, we’re a little behind. If someone could fill us in, we’d appreciate it.

[ another voice chimes in, though it’s not directed at the band, instead she appears to be addressing the question. ] The rest of Union, as a matter of fact. [ she pauses and then adds. ] You should say hello, Hotaru.

[ there’s a short pause. The entire city? How? ] Ah, hello? [ these people are crazy. ]

Good grief.

[ action, around Union ]

[ so, here’s a mildly bedraggled group winding their way through the streets of Union. It’s obvious from their clothing that they’ve been away for a while. Michiru and Haruka had actually managed to be away for at least a month, and while natural fabulousness can cover up almost anything, Michiru, at the very least, is counting down the minutes till she gets to soak away the (figurative) dirt of the road and take over the bathroom for at least three hours. The other two, Hotaru and Setsuna, had joined along the way... so to speak. But they still looked weary from the trip.

Alas, duty calls. Before they can get back home, they’ll need to outfit Hotaru with various necessities. Oh, and make sure she doesn’t go crazy and eat people.

...Make that a four hour soak, when Michiru finally gets back. Either way, the group’s going to be out and about the entire city for quite a bit. ]

[ Hotaru gets the message, and doesn't hesitate to pick up Espurr like she wants.

No Hotaru, you don't pick up other people's Pokémon. Didn't your mother teach you that? lol ]

You're not tired at all, are you?

[Armin, designated daddy of these Pokebabies, takes this moment to come out of a nearby story, with a Cherubi and Mareep in tow. He looks a little alarmed at the Espurr being held by a stranger, but he has his reasons:]

A-Ah, be careful! She likes to pull hair!

[ Well, thankfully Hotaru's hair is pretty dang short. And she's not exactly holding Espurr all that close. And she's immune to psychic abilities.

She holds Espurr up, looking into his large, soulful eyes. ]

You wouldn't do that to me, would you?

[tinytactician]

[Armin shifts his yarn closer as Famke the Espurr blinks once, then reaches out to pat Hotaru's face.]

...wow. She likes you.

[threemoms]

[ Hotaru smiled at Espurr as she pondered best how to respond to the trainer. ] I... grew up around lots of Pokémon.

[tinytactician]

Oh, I see. Are you a Shifter? [Because that's a normal thing to ask complete strangers, right?]

[threemoms]

[ Shifter? Yes, that's what he father called her. ]

I am. Is that common? [ Her father seemed to treat it like it was something special, anyway. ]

[tinytactician]

Not really, but one of my best friend's is one, so...I-I suppose I could just tell.

[threemoms]

Really? I've never met any others.

[ Congratulations, Hotaru looks interested. ]

[tinytactician]

Oh. Well, they're usually pretty...subtle about it. I-I mean, they don't walk around talking about it. N-Not that there's anything wrong with that!

[Awkward child is awkward.]

Are they? [ Does that mean she should be more subtle about it too? She wasn't planning on hiding it, even if she WAS planning on hiding the fact it was her dad that made her one. Everything about her dad was automatically blacklisted from conversation. She mentally added being a shifter to that list as well. ]

I'll try to keep that in mind, then...

Sort...of? Mostly because there aren't that many and people tend to stare if they aren't expecting it. B-But shifters are treated very well here in Union, really.
