The three (point five) soldiers of the outer solar system have arrived!

[ sup, everybody? Have an abortive (?) attempt at gathering news and information because somebody can’t speak candidly if her life depended on it. ]

We have been gone for a while, hm? Seeing how the place is still standing, I suppose nothing of consequence has happened.

Who are you talking to…?

[ this voice doesn’t appear to have heard that former one. ] Anyway, we’re a little behind. If someone could fill us in, we’d appreciate it.

[ another voice chimes in, though it’s not directed at the band, instead she appears to be addressing the question. ] The rest of Union, as a matter of fact. [ she pauses and then adds. ] You should say hello, Hotaru.

[ there’s a short pause. The entire city? How? ] Ah, hello? [ these people are crazy. ]

Good grief.

[ action, around Union ]

[ so, here’s a mildly bedraggled group winding their way through the streets of Union. It’s obvious from their clothing that they’ve been away for a while. Michiru and Haruka had actually managed to be away for at least a month, and while natural fabulousness can cover up almost anything, Michiru, at the very least, is counting down the minutes till she gets to soak away the (figurative) dirt of the road and take over the bathroom for at least three hours. The other two, Hotaru and Setsuna, had joined along the way... so to speak. But they still looked weary from the trip.

Alas, duty calls. Before they can get back home, they’ll need to outfit Hotaru with various necessities. Oh, and make sure she doesn’t go crazy and eat people.

...Make that a four hour soak, when Michiru finally gets back. Either way, the group’s going to be out and about the entire city for quite a bit. ]

[Sakura is a bit less formal than the man standing beside her, dressed in her usual pink and red yukata. She smiles gently, recognizing at least one of them. She doesn't quite have anything to add, but felt the need to be there to greet them as well.]

[a serene smile] We're glad to be back.

[oh right] This is Hotaru Tomoe.

[and there's absolutely no explanation as to why the kid of the guy they were sent to take out is with them. In fact, this is the face of a woman who is ready to kill for a shower and clean clothes. If Haruka is going to slow things down by playing around with the new commander...]

[ Haruka didn't bother dragging her uniform out of her bedroll for this, but she is standing at attention. New guy looks a little young, but she has a report to make. She'll figure him out later.

She stands up a little taller. ] Pleasure to meet you, Commander. We successfully eliminated the threat to Union, and two hostages were rescued.

[ That's her story and she is sticking to it. She wants to have this over with too, Michiru. ]

[Setsuna bows in response. She's still new to being an official member of the Force, despite having known about it for some time thanks to her family. Her garnet eyes flick towards Sakura and a smile can be seen there, if briefly, at the familiar face.]

[To Ogami she replies.] Thank you.

[She looks at Hotaru now, to see how the smaller girl is reacting to this.]

[ Hotaru looks over the two greeting them all for a moment. She doesn't know their names, but from the way the adults are acting, it seems like one of them is in charge. Best to give a good impression, lest the decide to complete the mission.

She gives a polite bow of the head and tries to give a pleasant smile, although it's obviously forced. ] It's nice to meet you both. [ No need to repeat her name, since Michiru was kind enough to give it. Though it would be nice to know theirs. ]

I'm glad to hear that your mission was fruitful. I'll inform Commander Yoneda at once. In the meantime, do you need any assistance? I imagine you'll want to refresh before debriefing, we can take care of any luggage or... companions you may have acquired in the meantime.

I'm sure you would all like to clean up before reporting back. We'll let Commander Yoneda know that you'll be along shortly.

[She looks at Hotaru and smiles.]

I'll ask about another room, too.

[oh good. She just smiles and breezes right past. You guys can stay and talk if you want, but if nobody is keeping her here, she's going to get a headstart at using up all the hot water taking over the bathroom for hours getting cleaned up.

[ Michiru.... Well. Haruka smiles. If the higher-ups are prizing getting them cleaned up over an explanation, she's not gonna fight it. ]

We'll leave it to you. [ A pause. ] Meioh, make yourself at home.

[ That should take care of things for the present. Inclining her head in a bow, Haruka sweeps out after Michiru. This does leave both Setsuna and Hotaru alone with strangers, but these new people said they'd take care of that. Haruka's had a long month. She needs to unwind.

And she thinks she knows where she can find some company for that. ]

[Well that didn't take long. It's like Setsuna blinks and the other two women are gone. Gee, thanks just leave her here with the science experiment girl and the Defense Force. You both are such big helps.

Oh well. Setsuna can handle this. She brushes her hair over her shoulder. She doesn't take it personal after all and can't really blame the two for taking off so quickly.

She refocuses her attention on the remaining people.]

It would appear that the baths have already been claimed.

[She considers their questions and adds.]

Hotaru does not have a lot of luggage and most of my things are probably still back at my place. I already took care of warping my Pokemon to the Habitat for care.

[Which is hopefully in one piece despite being gone for a long time. It was pretty spare compared to her parent's manner so she doubted there was anything to worry about there.]

But...I appreciate the offer and hospitality.

[ Hotaru just shifts awkwardly. Without Michiru and Haruka, she felt more exposed. She didn't know these other two, or how they'd feel about her, even if they do seem initially friendly. They probably just haven't figured out just who she is, that's all.

She subtly shifts so she's half-behind Setsuna, but still trying to look friendly and... non-threatening. ]

[Welp. Wasn't expecting it to go QUITE like that]

Well, uh, let's get you two set up. I know there are some spare rooms, we'll just annex one for now, I'll talk to the Commander about it once we're finished here. Can we get anything for either of you in the meantime?

Ah--wait a... moment...

[Aaaaand there they went. At least one of them at least acknowledged them, somewhat. Sighing gently, she didn't let her smile fall too much, especially since one of the group seemed ill at ease.

In a lot of ways, she reminded her of Takeshi, when they first met.]

We could have someone start dinner. A nice, hot meal would probably do everyone some good. Is there anything in particular that sounds good?

[Oh, right, she had heard that Setsuna lived off grounds.]

The least we could do is send you home with a home cooked meal.

[Setsuna glances down at Hotaru out of the corner of her eye. She feels a pang of sympathy for the girl. It looks like it's going to be up to her to carry them through this. Setsuna looks back up to the other two now standing with them awkwardly.]

That would be very kind of you, but don't trouble yourselves unnecessarily. I honestly think some food and rest are just what we need and I doubt either of us is very picky about what it is.

[She looks down at Hotaru, wanting to do her best to include the girl.]

Right, Hotaru? You were nearly falling asleep on your feet when we were getting supplies on our way here.

[threemoms]

[ Hotaru gives a nod to Setsuna. It's true she wasn't used to that kind of travel. Although her fortitude and endurance was far higher now that she was a shifter, it still wasn't something she was used to. She was dead tired. And hungry.

And not about to give those two any more trouble than she had to. ]

Yes.

Sakura, would you mind sending word to Ms. Yuri about getting the room ready? I'll bring them to the cafeteria so we can get dinner started.

Of course! I'll see you three in the cafeteria, then.

[She smiles and turns, walking off.]

[Setsuna can't wait to get off of her feet. While she'd like a bath as well she knows she does NOT want to intrude on whatever Haruka and Michiru are doing in there. Dinner will be good for now and so she turns to the only other person left, the young man.]
