[Well, here's a sight. Marisa is sitting perfectly still, lightly petting her Jolteon's head as she tosses a Fire Stone lightly in a bored fashion. She's sitting inside a plain room, just staring out the window before turning and stopping her tossing of the stone.]

I really dunno what ta make of everythin' that's happened...at least what I've heard and seen. I'm not a fan of what's goin' on but...a part of me is a little curious I have ta say.

[A slight frown and a glance at the stone in her hand.]

I know I picked this up, thinkin' it'd help out but...I really can't use it. It's just...I can't describe it. I'm thinkin' about givin' it away.

[A shrug of her shoulder before putting it down on her backpack, that sits next to her, it's contents still scattered about.]

Eh, Either way, I'll be on my way out of here before too long. Anyone know a good spot ta hide out for a bit?

I-is that a Fire Stone?

It is ze. Those guys left some stones for us who participated and this is the one I grabbed.

Ya know someone lookin' for one of these?

[As if the look on her face wasn't answer enough.]

Um... I am, if you really don't want it.

Hmm..what do ya want it for? If ya can give me a good reason, I'll hand it over.

I have a Vulpix that I want to evolve into Ninetales. It's, um...

[Jinxie hastily fiddles with the Warp Band, making this feed private.]

...My family has some religious traditions surrounding Ninetales. It protected us long ago, maybe even from before the time of the Savior. If I had a Fire Stone, I'm sure the Vulpix I'm bonded to now will grow into a strong Ninetales and help us all in the same way.

[Wow...That's actually kinda cool and it shows in her face as she listens. It's not something she's really hear about before but...Sounds like a good reason to her.]

Huh...Ya know what? It's yours. Just give me a few days ta get out of here and I can get it to ya.

[Jinxie's a little embarrassed and slightly wary at having to explain it, since it's kind of a weird superstition that isn't exactly mainstream, but she seems relieved once she sees Marisa's reaction. And her face absolutely lights up in a big smile when she agrees.]

Really? Thank you! I'm sure Foxfire will be really grateful too!

Not a problem! I'm just glad it'll help someone out instead of collectin' dust ya know?

Do ya want me ta meetcha somewhere when I get out? I've got a place I think I'm headin' ta but I might not.

Wherever is convenient for you, I suppose. I live in the northwest corner of the city, close to the wall.

I'll stop by. Just in case anythin' I plan goes wrong, ya won't get involved.

I'm Jinxie. Nice to meet you, Marisa. You can visit Foxfire anytime you want after she's evolved! I'm sure she'd be happy to be friends with the person who helped her.

You didn't exactly miss much with those Team Evolution guys. [Reimu is still vaguely annoyed about that, though at least she did get to fight their leader, even if someone else ended up actually uncovering what they were up to.]

Did you hear that they discovered an Island out there? You wanna go explore that place once you've gotten out of that guy's house again?

I hadn't, as they were watchin' me closely...But sounds like a plan ta me. Might as well train up if somethin' like that happens again huh?

[Yup, still not thrilled about her loss.]

[Reimu makes a face at the word "training."]

Well, of course you'd focus on that. That's not what I really meant, you know...

[Though since she does have her job to worry about (especially with how they've been falling behind on actually being involved in resolving incidents lately, this is twice now that someone else got to the bottom of things before she did, even if that wasn't exactly due to lack of combat ability on her part), she probably should do something, shouldn't she? Ugh...]

[But then, a bit of confusion on her face. She's been dealing with people she would rather not be SOO-]

True. That last guy was pretty tough though, with that whatever it was he did to his Pokemon...

[Then she just shrugs.] And I just wanted to go check that new place out and look around. Seemed like it might be interesting.

[A change of scenery might also be good for both of them, even if it was only for a day or something.]

Yeah...I don't know if that was a good or bad thin' ya know?

[Give her a second as she leans back against the wall and look at the ceiling for a moment. Spark looks up and softly calls out to her, bringing marisa back to what was being said.]

Hmm...Sounds good ta me. Just let me know when and I'll meet up with ya.

[For once, she was thinking about changing things up and not heading straight for the shrine once she escaped again.]

It was pretty annoying at least.

[She nodded.]

Alright. I will.

[Then she paused, and looked away for a moment, before glancing back at Marisa again.]

So... where do you plan on going after you get out of that place then?

[She wasn't about to assume it was back to the shrine, even though she wouldn't mind that and that was where she'd gone the last few times. She kind of had a feeling... and anyway, she didn't want to sound like... well she wasn't exactly sure how to put it, actually.]

Ya always say that though.

[There is a bit of silence here as she really didn't know and it bothered her. But with everything going on...She just didn't want to go. There was enough going on..as there were other things going through her head but...]

Honestly? I don't know yet. I'm half tempted ta just go out and live outside the city at this rate. Going ta get the same results no matter what I do.

[She pauses for a moment, thinking about it, then sighs.]

You know, there has to be some way to get those idiots to stop dragging you back there already. You'd think they'd get that you've got a reason for not wanting to live with that guy.

[Another pause, and she seems to be watching Marisa carefully as she says what she does next.]

... You know, even if it is annoying dealing with them, I don't really mind you staying at the shrine, right?

Yeah..but lookin' at my record I doubt they'd give it a chance, especially since I've been doin' this for 3ish years?

[A shrug at that. She's a bit tired of running but Marisa also knows her chances.

But color her surprised at the last bit. It startled her so there is a loud "Jolt!" as she disturbed Spark's nap]

That's it though, isn't it? I mean, you've been doing this for so long, you'd think it might just occur to them that it's not just you being a troublemaker or something. That maybe he's the problem?

[She just shakes her head. People are so stupid, jeez. And speaking of people being stupid.]

Don't be stupid. I said I don't mind. Besides, it's not like you can just keep relying on strangers all the time can you? And you come here so often, you might as well.

That's the thing. They won't believe it...You of all people know how he acts. The whole family won't show their true colors except with others of the famliy. Have I ever said what he says about everyone behind their back?

[It may be stupid to Reimu....But Marisa is stubborn. The idea of leaving the city is sounding like the best idea at the moment.]

No Reimu, There's no point. They are goin' ta drag me back like always and it'll just be more of an annoyance. I'll figure it out eventually.

Ugh, no I don't think you have, but you don't need to.

[Reimu can be pretty stubborn too of course.]

I don't think going outside of the city is a good idea either. [A frustrated sigh.] You really can't keep doing this. There has to be something we can do about it.

No! I'm not doin' that, I told ya.

[Just how forceful her voice is scares Spark and she moves from Marisa's lap. It does bring someone to her door and she scrambles to hide her warp band. After a quick exchange between her and her father, which probably sound more like agrueing..and then him saying something about how she was lying and something that Marisa speaks over before there is silence. It takes a while and things sound like they are being thrown about for a bit. Finally though, Marisa returns due to Spark picking up the warp band and bringing it back to her. The room is darker and she's a bit more upset but quieter.]

I know...But the only thin' I can do is wait it out or leave the city. I mean, once I turn 17, I have a better chance ta just leave and not go back, sayin' I'm movin' out or join the Rangers.

[Reimu is momentarily caught off guard at Marisa's outburst. Then she has to wait a few tense minutes while the witch deals with her dad getting brought in by the shout. By the time Marisa comes back, while still obviously frustrated, the miko seems to have deflated, somewhat, though she's trying not to be too obvious. Unfortunately, Reimu's never been good at hiding her feelings.

Maybe it's not a good idea to continue this argument while Marisa's still in that place.]

... I'd rather it was something we could do now instead of having to wait that long. [That bit's grumbled half under her breath before she just sighs again.] Ugh, nevermind. At least try to find somewhere to go that's not outside of the city, alright?

[The witch looks tired and worn by this point. She's just so done with this entire thing and is starting to hit desperation.]

...I'll be over tonight. I can't stay here any longer. I'm going to take a nap in a bit before I leave. We can argue more about it when i get there, okay?

[Time to gather up her things, as much as she can at least. But..she's at least going to listen. She couldn't think here..it just pissed her off too much.]

[At this point, it isn't even about Reimu being tired of being the only human living at the shrine. The miko's honestly just worried about her best friend, and pretty tired of this situation in general too. Still, she perks up subtly at what Marisa says and nods.]

Alright. I'll see you then.

[There is a nod before the band's video goes off. Marisa really wants that nap at this point..

But true to her word, that night she's at the shrine, with her normal backpack..but also a duffel bag. A little different then what she usually takes with her but...]

Hey Reimu, where ya at?

[As soon as Marisa shut off her warp band, Reimu went to make herself some tea to calm herself down. Then she saw to her Pokemon and finished any minor chores around the shrine she hadn't done yet while she thought about things.

She was pretty calm by the time Marisa showed up, opening the door when the witch called out to her.]

Ah, Marisa. There you are. Come in, I already made tea. [Well, technically she made more, but that didn't matter. She did notice the duffel bag, but she's not going to ask about that at the moment.]

[Trying to pretend like nothing happened on the warp band....Which she knows won't work but for right now, normal is nice.]

Hey, Thanks. Ya want me ta put my stuff down first? Unless this is a 'Nice knowin' ya' tea.

[Teasing, trying to be normal.]

[Reimu notices that and decides to play along for the moment. She just snorts.]

Of course it isn't. Go ahead then.

[With that, she turns and lets Marisa into the shrine. She won't actually say anything until Marisa's put her stuff away and they've had a chance to settle.]

[That just gets her to grin like normal and giggle a little.]

Thanks again Reimu...I don't think I've ever said that enough in all honesty.

[She follows the miko inside, taking a detour to the room she usually took over to drop off her bags, hat and broom. Once that was done, she made her way back to where she was supposed to go. Still being normal..although she had a feeling it was about to go away.]

So....What's been goin' on?

[This gets a small, brief, smile in response.]

It's fine. We're friends after all.

[She goes and pours the tea and sets it on either side of the table while Marisa puts her stuff away and then sits down on her end as Marisa comes back.]

Not a whole lot. It's as quiet as usual around here.

[And speaking of that... Well, first she takes a sip of her tea once Marisa sits down, then she speaks again.]

So, how long are you staying this time?

[As she comes back and sits down, she actually has a response to that.]

Ya never had ta, even as a friend.

[But she's going to take a drink at the question. She really just had not figured it out..Even if deep inside she wanted to stop running and stay in one place.]

..I really don't know.. I..I'm thinkin' about it. I know what I want ta do...just dunno how I wanna deal with it.

[Reimu just shrugs at that.]

I guess not, but someone has to.

[Of course that's not all. Marisa's her oldest and closest friend, and is maybe one of the most important people in her life right now, so she's willing to do more for her than she would for most others. It's a little hard for her to articulate that for some reason.]

And, well... I want to.

[Alright, there. That's better. She felt like she needed to say that, even if it had taken a few moments staring down at her tea to get it out.

In response to Marisa's answer to her question though.]

... You can stay here for as long as you want, you know. Until you can figure something out. Like I said before, I don't really mind.

[There is a more normal smile from Marisa hearing that. She thought she knew most of the things about her best friend..but she keeps getting surprised.]

We just stick together no matter what huh? Bad times and stupid things.

[There is a bit of a laugh as she leans back on her hands for a moment.]

Alright..I ain't goin' ta argue that. But I'll figure somethin' out..Although..What if I took ya up on stayin', What then?

[At the moment, just curiosity.]

[This gets another smile from Reimu too, as she takes another sip of her tea and nods.]

Heh, yeah.

[Though at Marisa's question, the miko looks down at her tea again as she answers.]

... I don't think I'd mind that either.

[Marisa's quiet, usually never a good sign but she's thinking of something other then being a pain in the ass for once.

Heh, even with all the crap I end up doin'? I'll keep that in mind. Just remember what me stayin' around usually entails.

[Pranks and her just being a brat. But The good things always come hand in hand with the bad with her.]

[Reimu snorted at that. It was true that Marisa really could be a pain sometimes. Still, that was just how Marisa was. It was annoying, but she'd been dealing with it for years already.]

Yeah, I know... You can be a real headache sometimes, but I guess I could learn to live with it though.

[Yeah, thinking about it, having Marisa around all the time instead of just off and on would probably end up driving her up the wall, but... at least the shrine wouldn't be so empty anymore. She wasn't sure she was ready to say that out loud though. She still wasn't sure how to deal with feeling like that to start with.]
