[ Jean's normally spiky/fluffy haircut is even spikier today, if that's possible. The culprit? His baby mareep, which has decided to perch itself on his fluffy head. Babies are tiny, ok. And also full of static. ]

So the egg hatched the other day. You wouldn't believe what a pain it is to keep an electric-type from friggin' waking you up all the time when you've got feathers. This dumb mareep won't stop messing with my wings! But ma' likes her a lot, I guess, so we've been keeping her at home. Personally, I think she just wants free wool. (Don't let her know I said that.)

Anyway I guess I'll add my two cents in saying this tournament stuff is bullshit. But it beats getting attacked by weird machines so whatever, y'know? As long as they don't pull that shit again, who cares?

Oh, and I joined the Rangers, I guess. You can blame friggin' Eren and his dumb face. I know this shit ain't my journal or whatever but I've been kinda busy so I figured I owed some of you guys an update.

Still sucks that I couldn't get into the Swords, though.

Hey, I got no problems with you. If we end up on the same team or whatever, it's nothing personal, unless you got a problem with it. I got no interest in dyin', so it's not like I wouldn't give it my all just 'cause I'm not super into the Rangers or whatever.

It's not like I liked the Guard all that much, either. When it comes right down to it, the Rangers pay well and I can keep my idiot friends from getting themselves killed. I got no plans on dying, either way.

Nah, I couldn't get into the Swords of the Savior so I joined up with the Guards instead. I'm Enlightened, so that's kind of what you're expected to do... I mean, I spent my whole time at school leading up to joining one of these things, so I went with what was least dangerous, basically.

What you're expected to do, huh...

[Sora...never really thought about what an Enlightened was expected to do. He only became one a year ago, and being a Ranger was something he wanted to do on his own accord. That's all it was. Was it really different for others?]

[Though, he can't criticize him too much for wanting something that was less dangerous. Another time, another place- that might've been his choice too]

Well, you probably didn't write the generic answers for your reasons right? You know- "I wanna serve Union and humanity" or "I wanna see the world outside the city!" or "I've always dreamed of being a Ranger!". I bet they get hundreds of applications saying that sorta stuff- so yours will definitely stand out!
