[Back out in the forest near the Forest Shrine, the video is generally showing a Pikachu and Sandshrew training together in battle. It's been going on for a few minutes with the Pikachu relying on physical attacks while the Sandshrew attacks with physical strength and strong moves like Magnitude to bring down the Pikachu enough to make it yield.

If you are still watching, what might catch your attention finally is that the Sandshrew started to glow and change form. Evolution.

The glow fades and a Sandslash stands in place of the Sandshrew. The two Pokémon ran straight for the camera, the one recording reaching out to pet the Sandslash.]

You evolved. Congrats, Kaia. You fought and grown well with Jas these past few days.

[The camera is now turned to face Quinn and some of her Pokémon. She's been resting against a tree, Kaia the Sandslash moving to sit in her lap. Valor the Rufflet is on her left shoulder and a Klefki is sitting next to him, humming and jingling her keys in a small tune. Jasper the Pikachu climbs into her lap with the Sandslash. And then there is Edan the Fletchinder on the other shoulder.

Yes, she's used to being covered in Pokémon. This is normal to her.]

Kaia isn't the most active Pokémon I bonded with, but she really did work hard to get to this point with her training. This was all on her own free will, to train with her allies and was never forced to do anything she doesn't want to do.

I'm sure most of you can agree that evolution is a thing that should not be forced. Our visitors are different and all, but I am feeling uneasy with them as much as some of you are. There is also something that bugs me about this tournament. If you are participating, I wish you good luck. I also wish for everyone to stay on their guard. Just in case.

I already gave my thoughts on... "everything" to a strong connection. They listened, but I don't know if it's enough. For now, all I can is wait and watch. I'll act according to whatever happens next.

[If you are near the Forest Shrine, you might catch Quinn against the same spot against a large tree. Surrounded by her Pokémon, she is sketching a small group of Deerling eating off in a fair distance. It's a chance to catch her off guard yet her Pokémon got their eyes out for any danger or visitors. She will greet anyone who comes to see her if they are around, just don't try to interrupt the Deerling group she is sketching.]

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

[That's gross, but Jasper wasn't quick enough to dodge that sludge ball. He coughs and tries to shake the sludge off, but thankfully, he did not get poisoned from that attack. Next time might not be too lucky.]

Thundershock!

[Sparks fly once again right towards Goo.]

((ooc: I'm pretty much using random.org for hits/misses along with status effects so you're good!))

[Goo once again takes Jasper's lightning right in the face, but she's still hungry for more.]

Mud-Slap!

[This time the Grimer picks up a clod of dirt, softening it into a ball of mud with its slime and hurling the whole mess toward Jasper. There's a type advantage to be had here, and it should also interfere with his accuracy just a bit.]

[Okay, now it hurts as that mud ball smacks Jasper hard enough to knock him down. His eyes are still a bit clouded in sludge particles and now mud.]

Quick Attack forward!

[The Pikachu just charges forward, even if he's a little blind, but he just hopes that he hits something... Besides Jinxie or a tree.]

[Despite the mud in his eye, Jasper's Quick Attack strikes true, sending Goo sloshing backward.]

Again, Goo!

[Seeing how effective it was last time, though, Jinxie's decided to keep going with this strategy.]

[Once again, that mud hurts a lot for the second time on the Electric type that not only it's hard for him to see, but he's really getting weak. He still wants a rematch again that Fearow.

His cheeks spark up in determination. Quinn would recall him back, but he hanging in there.]

Thundershock!

[Just one more shock is flinged right towards the Grimer.]

[And this time, the shot goes wide, the effects of those Mud Shots becoming apparent.]

Goo, one more time! Mud Shot!

[And off it goes toward Jasper.]

[That hit should do it. Enough that Edan flies in to drag Jasper back to Quinn's feet once the coast is clear, even if the Pikachu wants to keep going. She just picks him up to clear the mess off of him.]

Easy, Jas. Goo had a type advantage move on you. It happens.

[With Edan taking Jasper's place, Quinn just picks up the battle from there.]

Fury Attack!

[Edan flies straight towards the Grimer, ready to make a bunch of small yet multiple attacks.]

[Goo takes all of the attacks head-on, and when it makes its move to counterattack, the effects of Jasper's earlier Thunder Wave finally pay off as it remains frozen in place.]

Oh no! Goo!

[Now's the chance to finish it!]

[Things are looking up!]

We got an opening! Finish Goo with Ember, Edan!

[From a small bird, that blast of fire bursting from his beak is a little terrifying. The fireball flies right towards Goo.]

[And that seems to be enough to finish her off. Goo doesn't faint, but she does seem more or less incapable of continuing.]

Goo, come back! You did a good job out there.

[Jinxie glances to her other Pokemon, thinking about who to send out.]

Pixel! Psybeam!

[Her Porygon comes forward now, its Trace ability activating automatically as its 'skin' takes on a more reddish tint. Gathering psychic energy in its beak, it shoots a beam of energy at the bird.]

[Edan flings himself to the left to dodge the energy beam. Quinn does note on that red tint that covers the Porygon's body.]

Careful of physical attacks, Edan. Ember again!

[The Fletchinder spits out another fire ball right towards the Porygon.]

[Clever on Quinn's part, keeping the attacks ranged. Porygon is hit with the Ember attack, but it's still kicking.]

Conversion2!

[The Porygon flashes again, this time taking on a more bluish tint. That's all it seems to do.]

Agility!

[Since this thing is new to her, you bet she is going to be careful about it. Edan picks up his speed, his wings are starting to flap faster than normal thanks to this speed boost.]

What exactly is Pixel anyways?

Psybeam!

[It's really about all it's got going for it, except for Tackle, and Jinxie's wary of that after seeing what it copied from Edan. Another multicolored mind beam tears off toward the bird.]

He's a Porygon. I found him in the Old City.

Ember!

[If this has to be a special attack fight, then so be it. Edan got hit a bit by the Psybeam, but he flings another fire attack right back at the Porygon.]

I see. His behavior and abilities are kind of strange...

[The Ember seems to deal less damage than it did the last time, for whatever reason. Perhaps it has something to do with that bluish tint from before?]

Psybeam!

[It is indeed going to be a special attack fight. Pixel is a bit of a one-trick pony attack-wise right now.]

They are, a little. I've never seen anything like them before.

[Dammit, that blue tint wasn't just for show.]

Quick Attack!

[She's going have to risk it. Edan charges straight towards the Porygon.]

[Porygon's skin once again flares red, but Edan manages to avoid the burn to deliver a direct hit. The digital duck staggers back.]

Pixel! Hang in there!

[Well, if it's going physical...]

Tackle!

[This will be its last attack, one way or the other. Jinxie hasn't worked with this one much before today.]

[That tackle got hit, but those flames sparking up from Edan's body wasn't pretty.]

Good work! Another Quick Attack should do the trick, Edan!

[With that twirl in the air, that bird just darts right back towards Pixel for the final blow.]

[And down it goes! Swirly eyes and all as it staggers back toward Jinxie.]

It's okay, Pixel... you did a good job.

[Jinxie turns back to her other Pokemon, thinking for a moment.]

Your turn now, Magica! Psywave!

[That Psywave certainly hits Edan roughly. Pretty weak, but still possible to lay off a few more attacks.]

Ember! Hang in there, Edan!

[Quinn is going have to rely on Ember some more as Edan's normal attacks cannot hurt the ghost at all.]

[This battle is just beginning, and Magica's certainly got more energy where that came from.]

Try a Confuse Ray!

[WOOM WOOM WOOM here come the mind beams]

[Edan is now confused! If that dizzy look in his eyes didn't give it away.]

Stay focused! Ember!

[Well, Edan did get fire out, but luck is just not on his side as he hits himself with the flames.]

Oh great...

Now's your chance, Magica! Psywave!

[More mind beams coming your way, Edan.]

[And the fire bird falls down. He did shake himself off to end the confusion, but he's too weak to fight anymore so he returns to the sidelines.]

We're kind of tied.

[Valor the Rufflet flies out to the stage. A bit of an advantages as Ghost moves cannot hurt him.]

Hone Claws, Valor!

[His talons shine as he clicks them together, looking much sharper and stronger than usual.]
