002 | video/action
[Back out in the forest near the Forest Shrine, the video is generally showing a Pikachu and Sandshrew training together in battle. It's been going on for a few minutes with the Pikachu relying on physical attacks while the Sandshrew attacks with physical strength and strong moves like Magnitude to bring down the Pikachu enough to make it yield.
If you are still watching, what might catch your attention finally is that the Sandshrew started to glow and change form. Evolution.
The glow fades and a Sandslash stands in place of the Sandshrew. The two Pokémon ran straight for the camera, the one recording reaching out to pet the Sandslash.]
You evolved. Congrats, Kaia. You fought and grown well with Jas these past few days.
[The camera is now turned to face Quinn and some of her Pokémon. She's been resting against a tree, Kaia the Sandslash moving to sit in her lap. Valor the Rufflet is on her left shoulder and a Klefki is sitting next to him, humming and jingling her keys in a small tune. Jasper the Pikachu climbs into her lap with the Sandslash. And then there is Edan the Fletchinder on the other shoulder.
Yes, she's used to being covered in Pokémon. This is normal to her.]
Kaia isn't the most active Pokémon I bonded with, but she really did work hard to get to this point with her training. This was all on her own free will, to train with her allies and was never forced to do anything she doesn't want to do.
I'm sure most of you can agree that evolution is a thing that should not be forced. Our visitors are different and all, but I am feeling uneasy with them as much as some of you are. There is also something that bugs me about this tournament. If you are participating, I wish you good luck. I also wish for everyone to stay on their guard. Just in case.
I already gave my thoughts on... "everything" to a strong connection. They listened, but I don't know if it's enough. For now, all I can is wait and watch. I'll act according to whatever happens next.

[If you are near the Forest Shrine, you might catch Quinn against the same spot against a large tree. Surrounded by her Pokémon, she is sketching a small group of Deerling eating off in a fair distance. It's a chance to catch her off guard yet her Pokémon got their eyes out for any danger or visitors. She will greet anyone who comes to see her if they are around, just don't try to interrupt the Deerling group she is sketching.]

Video
Oh... hi, Quinn.
Video
Hey, Jinxie. Are you alright?
Action - wtf it was action from the start
[Her Pokemon, typically more animated, also seem to be sharing in her mood, and are all clustered around her at the moment.]
action - i figured yet it somehow didn't change. dw.....
[The Klefki from her shoulder jingles her keys a bit more, still humming a calm tune.]
You are more than welcome to train with any of my Pokémon if you wish.
Action!
[Jinxie giggles a little at the Klefki.]
I bonded with a Klefki a while back, too. They're very cute, aren't they?
action!
[She smiles at her Klefki before returning to her drawing.]
Yeah, they are pretty popular among trainers. She's just trying to keep our mood up despite what has been going on.
Re: action!
[But she's in good company, so that's fine.]
It's all right if we train with you, then? Whisper just hatched and I want to be gentle with her at first, so I brought the ones that have the most growing to do to help her.
action!
[All of her Pokémon give a mix of cries and sounds, pretty much all of them saying yes. She closes her journal as her Pokémon climb off of her so she can stand up.]
Sounds like a plan. I'm ready whenever you are.
action!
[She lets her Solosis out of her arms to watch for the time being, and it floats over just behind the others. Dokuro the Duskull returns to her side, since he's had plenty of training. Which means it's Goo, Magica, Pixel, and Waff on the front line.]
action!
Remember, everyone. Win or lose, always give it your all.
[Jasper the Pikachu steps forward, volunteering to go first. He rested up enough from his previous training, so he's pretty eager to fight!]
action!
Right. Just try your best. I know you're all strong.
[And first up is Goo the Grimer, looking just pleased as punch to be the first one to battle.]
(ooc: I'm going to say the Pokemon Jinxie's using have only gained half of their levels for the week, and that this will count as them getting the other levels since she's doing Intensive Training. So Goo is level 15, Magica is 14, Pixel is 13, and Waff is 14 instead of what they're listed at. It only makes a difference in one case, which is Waff not knowing Payback yet, so it's mostly for my own edification.)
action!
Stay sharp, Jasper. Thunder Wave!
[Sparks start to fly from the Pikachu's red cheeks, attempting to fling them off right towards the Grimer.]
((ooc: Gotcha! At this point, all levels on Quinn's team should be updated/final with Kaia evolving beforehand at post start.
Also reference to levels before I apply upcoming Week 8 changes: Valor (18), Edan (17), Jasper (15), Kaia (22)))
action!
[Goo is hit head-on with the paralysis wave, but manages to power through the effect for the moment to scoop up part of its body and fling it back toward Jasper.]
(ooc: Went with random.org to roll for the paralysis. It's a 25% chance, and I got a 68. Sludge has a 30% chance of poisoning the target, so you can go ahead and roll that too, or we can just fudge stuff as we go since it's just training anyway.)
action!
Thundershock!
[Sparks fly once again right towards Goo.]
((ooc: I'm pretty much using random.org for hits/misses along with status effects so you're good!))
action!
Mud-Slap!
[This time the Grimer picks up a clod of dirt, softening it into a ball of mud with its slime and hurling the whole mess toward Jasper. There's a type advantage to be had here, and it should also interfere with his accuracy just a bit.]
action!
Quick Attack forward!
[The Pikachu just charges forward, even if he's a little blind, but he just hopes that he hits something... Besides Jinxie or a tree.]
action!
Again, Goo!
[Seeing how effective it was last time, though, Jinxie's decided to keep going with this strategy.]
action!
His cheeks spark up in determination. Quinn would recall him back, but he hanging in there.]
Thundershock!
[Just one more shock is flinged right towards the Grimer.]
action!
Goo, one more time! Mud Shot!
[And off it goes toward Jasper.]
action!
Easy, Jas. Goo had a type advantage move on you. It happens.
[With Edan taking Jasper's place, Quinn just picks up the battle from there.]
Fury Attack!
[Edan flies straight towards the Grimer, ready to make a bunch of small yet multiple attacks.]
no subject
Oh no! Goo!
[Now's the chance to finish it!]
no subject
We got an opening! Finish Goo with Ember, Edan!
[From a small bird, that blast of fire bursting from his beak is a little terrifying. The fireball flies right towards Goo.]
no subject
Goo, come back! You did a good job out there.
[Jinxie glances to her other Pokemon, thinking about who to send out.]
Pixel! Psybeam!
[Her Porygon comes forward now, its Trace ability activating automatically as its 'skin' takes on a more reddish tint. Gathering psychic energy in its beak, it shoots a beam of energy at the bird.]
no subject
Careful of physical attacks, Edan. Ember again!
[The Fletchinder spits out another fire ball right towards the Porygon.]
no subject
Conversion2!
[The Porygon flashes again, this time taking on a more bluish tint. That's all it seems to do.]
