[maright]

Video:

[The image flickers on, but nothing coherent can be made out for several seconds- only blurry images and a great deal of clattering and crashing. Every now and then, it steadies and a bright blue Nidoking comes into view, roaring and pacing about, obviously agitated. Mari's voice comes in from off-screen.]

I know, I know- but you have to calm down, behaving rashly will only- ah!

[The video stops as suddenly as it started. A few minutes later, though, it turns back on. This time there's only Mari, smiling calmly enough, though it does look a little strained. The sounds of chaos have momentarily turned to some subdued growling in the background.]

My apologies, it seems I turned the video on by accident earlier. I hope I haven't disturbed anyone.

Action, for Kaido and Atsuro:

[So. There's a severely upset Nidoking in your house, that Mari is currently just barely able to stop from charging off and attacking Team Evolution single-handedly. What do?]

[... What do indeed. He saw the video and rushed back home, but now that he's here he... is not sure what to do at all. Togepi knows Yawn by now, so there's that if things come to the worse, but he'd really rather they not. They have to live in this house, you know.]

U-Um... Have you tried talking to it yet, miss Mari?

[... he's pretty sure she's tried, Atsuro]

I'm glad to know I'm not alone, anyway.

[But that doesn't mean he's going to be any use at helping]

Yes... well, its calmed down a little, but-

[As if just to prove her wrong Nidoking growls again, its tail lashing angrily to knock over a chair. Sparks of electricity flaring at the corner of its mouth.]

No, destroying the furniture is not going to make me change my mind.

[at_too_low]

[He picks up the chair and puts it back-- and for a moment, the air around him crackles as well, in a kind of instinctive response to Nidoking's electricity. He's still so confused about why it can use it]

Have you agreed on something, miss Mari?

[kaidont]

[Huh... you've been doing that more, recently]

We'd need a plan before doing anything, anyway. We don't know anything about them, or how strong they are.

[maright]

Thank you, Atsuro. [She sighs and side-eyes Nidoking, hard. It grumbles and glares some more, but at least stops sparking.]

And you're right, Tadashi. We at least know who was responsible for those machines now, the most important thing is to get as much information as we can on them.

[at_too_low]

Well, as far as I know lots of people have talked to them, there's some contact between the government and their leader, and there's the tournament. We can come watch... er, maybe not all of us.

[Stealing a worried glance at Nidoking - he's pretty sure allowing him get near any of the newcomers is not a good idea, even with miss Mari around.]

[kaidont]

[sigh] The way I see it, there's only two things they can want with this tournament.

Either they plan to use it to show how superior to us they are and scare the council into giving them the machines, or they're going easy to observe our strengths and weaknesses to use later.

Either way, it's bad news. And the least we show them strength like yours [he gives Nidoking a pointed look], the better.

... one of us could always go and transmit it to the others with the band.

[maright]

[Why's everyone looking at him? He didn't do anything wrong, they're all the ones sitting around talking while the enemy is so close by. Nidoking continues to grumble, but he's started to sound more mopey than anything. At least for now. Mari decides to count that as a good thing.]

I agree, though, I don't think it should be me. With Nidoking in this state, it's safest I don't leave him alone for long. Would either of you two mind going?

[kaidont]

Well, Ezreal is playing, so I might as well. I have an excuse that way.

[Looking at Atsuro] Want to come with me?

[at_too_low]

Yeah. I want to find out as much as I can too. And it would be fun to see your friend participating, too.

[maright]

Good, sounds like that's settled. I expect to hear all about it!

[He gives you a salute]
