Thespians for Sale! (Date Auction)

Almost there! It had taken them the better part of a year, but the Union Divine Theater had nearly been restored in the aftermath of Kyurem’s attack. As a historic monument, they had to be careful to only use period-appropriate building materials, and employed only the finest craftsmen. But now they’re nearly ready for business again.

So of course, they’re holding a fundraiser. And, of course, it’s a date auction.

Not just any date auction, though! The courtyard has been taken up with several small tables, behind which each thespian being raffled off is seated. Interested bidders are welcome to chat with the “prizes” or to check out the long line of tables across from the auction decorated with several super-classy glass jars. Each jar has a person’s name on it, and a small watercolor picture of the person in question next to it. These individuals have volunteered (or been volunteered) to serve as extra dates - just buy a ticket from the Slowking and the Wooper at the end of the tables and you can enter to win!

Small placards scattered throughout the event specify that all “prizes” must be 18 years or over, and that all dates must be family-friendly. All “prizes” also have the option, if they desire, of specifying which gender of date they prefer. Additionally, while the humans mingle, their Pokémon are encouraged to chat with the Nidoking who’s waiting just inside the theater. He’s giving tours of the stage area complete with the option of putting on a production! Be sure to tell your Trainers to buy tickets to the Theater’s next show!

The event will run all day, with bidding starting at $25 (Union currency). Are you ready to make a new friend??

[[ OOC: The date raffle and auction is live! Please follow the instructions beneath each top-level below. Each character being auctioned will have their own auction thread, where all bids go for that character - threadjacking is encouraged, and a mingle thread where people can talk to that character. Each character being raffled has their own section for people to note they’ve put in a ticket, but these can all be replies to the top-level. Each character being raffled also has their own spot for mingling. OOCly, results for the auctions and raffles will be announced in about a week.

Pokémon interested in performing on stage can leave top-level comments in the section at the bottom of the post. Their scene partner tags in with a result from the RP Scenario Generator: this is the scene the two Pokémon are encouraged to act out. An assortment of costume pieces, sets, and props are available. ...Or you could catch her grabbing a Bidoof by the scruff and holding it as far away from her body as humanely possible.

Somemon might have tried to bid with a slightly banged up poffin. One that was clearly stolen from the kitchens, judging from the trail of crumbs.]

[Ami came over and patted the Oshawott on the head, having every intention of "winning" the date with Michiru.]

Hello, Michiru-san, I hope you are feeling well today.

[Oshawott squeaks happily, leaning forward so Ami can get that sweet spot right behind the ears.

Michiru just chuckles.] I have a good feeling about today.

[She loves water pokemon, what can she say? She continues to scratch and cuddle the little Oshawott.] Oh yes, you are just a little cutie. You're going to grow up big and strong, just like my little Mercury.

[She glanced up to Michiru and grinned.] I do as well. Rei also sends her regards, I don't know if she will be able to attend.

[Oshawott's estimation of Ami just rose by several notches as he enjoys the attention. He is super cute - and also super strong! (there's no point in limiting himself to one or the other, apparently)]

If she doesn't, tell her I said hello.

That reminds me! [She smiled as she picked up the Oshawott and cradled him in her arms, still cuddling and petting the pokemon.] Rei agrees with me, the idea of using your home as a place for the reception, if you are still comfortable with the idea, would be excellent. But we would both understand if you rather not as there is no telling what will happen several months from now. [She means the gods.]

And perhaps so, but little ones given plenty of attention and being handled by multiple trainers prevents them from being hand shy after evolutions. Aurora, for example, is not terribly fond of multiple people touching her but that is my own fault. Besides my mother and I handling her while she was a Shinx, there were only a few others involved in her early development.

[Oshawott got maybe a half of what Ami said, but maybe this means he should be getting more pets??] Osha! [whatever it is, he agrees!]

I'll have to keep that in mind. I don't think we'll have a problem with this one, however. [like her Gardevoir - though that just might come from personality.]

And I wouldn't have offered my house if I hadn't meant it. Short of holding your reception outside or in the Habitat, I can't think of very many options that'll work.

[unless somebody installs a very big bathtub...?]

We rather not have it at the Habitat, and while the wedding will be outside, it will be early enough in the day to not be too cold. But if the reception goes into the evening, the last thing I want is for the guests to get chilly. [Not that Ami knows what that even IS anymore, her body below normal temperature since her evolutions.]

Besides, you might be the only home that already has a piano in it already.

[Michiru nods. That sounds reasonable enough.

And then here's a small laugh.] That's a reasonable assumption to make.

[definitely got some high end, grand piano in there] Rest assured, the acoustics are lovely.

Wonderful! Socrates will help bring my harp in so that Rei and I can perform during the reception.

[ Uh-oh, Brad, it's the police.

Okay, it's the Swords of the Savior, but either way - they don't look kindly on theft! ]

Would you? [here's a grateful smile as she hands over Brad, who suddenly starts wiggling wildly. ]

He thinks he lives here. [she sounds just a bit exasperated]

A repeat offender? [ Veronica's grip on the creature tightens. She lifts him up and turns him from side to side, examining her catch. ] Someone needs to learn his lesson.

[ Yes, you, sir. You of the wiggling. ]

If you can manage that, I'd be grateful. [this is apparently the one thing she can't do, though she can't quite decide if it's her or if it's Brad's ability to ignore anything he doesn't like.

Though it doesn't seem to be working right now. Wiggle wiggle.]

Oh, watch out. [Brad turns his head, trying his best to gnaw on your arm.]

[ Hm. Veronica's expression barely changes, but Brad will find that arm not nearly as gnawable as it had been a moment previous. Oh, her skin will still give way if he chomps hard enough. It's just....heating up. Rapidly. ]

[bite, bite, bite, bi....hot! Hot! Brad squeaks, stops the gnawing, and immediately goes back to wiggling. He won't go quietly!!

Michiru, however, seems to be watching with interest.]

Well, that's certainly one way to teach him not to do something. [no Michiru, the poke-gods look down on corporal punishment]

We'll deal with him fairly. [ Still holding Brad by the scruff, Veronica tucks him beneath her other arm to hold him snugly in place. This should do until she can get him outside the city limits, she thinks. ]

If he returns and causes a disturbance, don't hesitate to report it. The Swords of the Savior protect the peace.

[ She might put your problem lower on her people's queue, depending on what else is happening that day, but she's here to make a difference so it's the idea of the thing. ]

[well, then. Never let it be said that Michiru Kaioh would look a gift Rapidash in the mouth. Especially if it involves getting rid of Brad.

[Brad stops for a moment to look up at this newcomer! And then immediately goes back to wiggling, despite all evidence that it's not really working. He..just needs to keep trying, right?

She then turns to set about disposing of this trespasser. Wiggling is not working any better now than it was earlier, except now Brad also has a Noibat peering down at him and laughing. People with one track minds get boring quickly, you know... ] Nooiiii.
