Thespians for Sale! (Date Auction)

Almost there! It had taken them the better part of a year, but the Union Divine Theater had nearly been restored in the aftermath of Kyurem’s attack. As a historic monument, they had to be careful to only use period-appropriate building materials, and employed only the finest craftsmen. But now they’re nearly ready for business again.

So of course, they’re holding a fundraiser. And, of course, it’s a date auction.

Not just any date auction, though! The courtyard has been taken up with several small tables, behind which each thespian being raffled off is seated. Interested bidders are welcome to chat with the “prizes” or to check out the long line of tables across from the auction decorated with several super-classy glass jars. Each jar has a person’s name on it, and a small watercolor picture of the person in question next to it. These individuals have volunteered (or been volunteered) to serve as extra dates - just buy a ticket from the Slowking and the Wooper at the end of the tables and you can enter to win!

Small placards scattered throughout the event specify that all “prizes” must be 18 years or over, and that all dates must be family-friendly. All “prizes” also have the option, if they desire, of specifying which gender of date they prefer. Additionally, while the humans mingle, their Pokémon are encouraged to chat with the Nidoking who’s waiting just inside the theater. He’s giving tours of the stage area complete with the option of putting on a production! Be sure to tell your Trainers to buy tickets to the Theater’s next show!

The event will run all day, with bidding starting at $25 (Union currency). Are you ready to make a new friend??

[[ OOC: The date raffle and auction is live! Please follow the instructions beneath each top-level below. Each character being auctioned will have their own auction thread, where all bids go for that character - threadjacking is encouraged, and a mingle thread where people can talk to that character. Each character being raffled has their own section for people to note they’ve put in a ticket, but these can all be replies to the top-level. Each character being raffled also has their own spot for mingling. OOCly, results for the auctions and raffles will be announced in about a week.

Pokémon interested in performing on stage can leave top-level comments in the section at the bottom of the post. Their scene partner tags in with a result from the RP Scenario Generator: this is the scene the two Pokémon are encouraged to act out. An assortment of costume pieces, sets, and props are available. [Harry doesn't even know what's going on here. Nobody actually told him that he was getting put up for a date raffle. So basically he hasn't dressed up or anything and is milling around in his big coat with his big old Stoutland tagging along, who's equally being shadowed by a tiny Bulbusaur.

It's after stopping for a snack that he comes to a stop, paper plate of fries balanced in his hand. Something's... wrong.]

... Where is everybody?

[The "everybody" he's referring to are gathered around his table and the surrounding area. Any ladies wandering by will find themselves saddled with a cheery Pachirisu jumping out of nowhere onto their shoulder chittering excitedly to draw their attention to the table.

A table with a Gallade standing at attention and bearing the banner of the Za Lord standing at one side and a serene Gardevoir on the other. A Rotom-possessed record player sits on the table blasting some kind of bombastic tune or another. And a Totodile jumps up and down and waves for attention before striking a pose and pointing toward the watercolor portrait.

Oh my. [Michiru offers the Pachirisu a smile and a scratch under the chin before turning to Harry and his Pokemon.]

You have quite the entourage.

[she sounds faintly amused - this happens more often when they're not trying to break out imprisoned gods.]

[Happy chitters at the scratches, fluffy tail swinging back and forth. Okay, they need names in that jar. Time to get to work and-- uh oh.]

Could've fooled me. Barely seen them all day. [Harry makes his way over, Mouse at his side. Both of them eye the Pachirisu who's frozen in place on Michiru's shoulder.] Where've you been?

Pachii.... [Happy grins, scratching the back of her neck. Oh no, this is no good. The boss is here... and Harry too! They're close enough to hear Toot's music and if they get found out now everything might go up in smoke. What should she do...?]

[Which is a little odd on its own. Happy is typically pretty shameless about hopping onto the shoulders of anybody who catches her eye so why would she be looking guilty...? Hm.]

Well, I don't mind if you don't. [He lifts his head toward the festivities going on nearby, nodding toward them.] Looks like you've drawn quite a crowd over there.

[at the very least, Happy hadn't gotten the chance to do much other than look cute!]

It's a good sign. Perhaps we'll finally finish the renovations before we get attacked again.

[Elaine has noooooo idea anyone would ever put a friend's name up for grabs just to get him out of his musty old basement. Who would do something like that? How shocking!]

[But she did kind of expect he'd get a bigger draw than this. Maybe there just aren't many ladies his age hanging out around the theater. Oh well. At least she can pet his Totodile, since he's ridiculously cute. And she has no objections to the chipper Pachirisu hanging out on her shoulder too, if it likes.]

Really? That's not long at all. Well you did pick a good one, just make sure you give him plenty of exercise.

[Her Clefairy, Annelise, is strutting proudly in front of Lash. How do you like her now? She's been drinking milk and now she's all evolved and everything!]

[Bruce is entirely pleased to be the primary recipient of pettings. As is only right, considering he's the leader and all! He proudly lifts his head and thumps his chest with one tiny paw. No need to worry! He'll keep the human in line and make sure he stays in shape!

Happy, meanwhile, chitters happily on Elaine's shoulder before hopping off and onto the table. Seizing Harry's jar, she pushes it towards her and taps her paws on the brim while looking up at Elaine with wide, hopeful eyes.]

[Lash regards Annelise's... display for a moment before turning her nose up with a haughty sniff. Don't bother her with such trifles, she has no time to indulge in some child's fantasies. Especially not those of a mere middle stage Pokemon.]

Uh...that might be a little...awkward.

[It's been what, twenty-four years? Sure they're comfortable visiting each other and talking business. They're friends. It's been such a long time, though, and they've both changed so much.]

I just thought he might like having a night out, get him out of that musty apartment. I didn't sign him up to snipe him for myself.

[She reaches out to skritch the Pachirisu's ears with a wry little smile.]

Besides, he's got plenty of...tickets...
