I tell you, I take one business trip to Caldera and... uh... another god shows up! This got pretty intense, huh? Is everyone all right?

I'm a little worried about you guys!

B: Action

[True to promises made, the Spearowfeathers have set up a shop. There is a storefront with a brightly painted sign of a Spearow on it, and the word "SPEAROWFEATHERS" written underneath it. Rose is standing outside the storefront. They're not open yet; instead, her people are moving things into it, carrying wooden crates and everything else.]

[Rose has her arms crossed. But she looks proud.]

[They're moving up in the world! But it's also quite a sight; it's not every day that a new storefront opens up after all. (Thank Lenna for the loan.)]

There were a lot of sleepless nights.. Mine still have yet to recover, but I'm sure that's only a matter of time.

[ She can hope, anyway. ]

You made the right choice, especially so soon after the second treaty with Gigas being put in place. And, fortunately, this last encounter had far less blood shed. Would that we could say the same about other times.

That's not an easy thing to say, is it? We've had some bad brushes.

But it sounds like this god and his followers were victims, too, of people in the past. I'm glad that it didn't come to blows.

We have. And yet, we are still here. And the world continues to change. I suppose that's the 'Union Effect'.

[ She can't remember who said that first, but it was appropriate. ]

They were. I offered a bond to a Meganium, who accepted it.. The Ancient humans were certainly happy to go to such extremes...We will have to ensure that doesn't happen again.

[meaningful look at Gigas]

That's a real thing.

[She's totally seen it with her own two eyes. She grins, though she's a little surprised. Some of their Pokemon bonded with them? That's... really impressive, actually.]

Yeah. We can do that. Gigas being, uh, neutralized... that's gonna help. But there might be other groups out there.

And they always seem pretty surprised when people point it out, don't they?

[ Such a force for good. Or at least, a far lesser evil than others she can think of. ]

Hmmm, it's true. [Ever Grande doesn't count. ..does it?] And we still have much to learn from those who've passed on. [a small smile forms] A small group of us went exploring some time ago, explored what was an old research place, that studied weather. [of all things]

I think it's because they're used to it. It's just the way they are! So they don't think about it too much.

[Oh, boy. Old places. Rose has never been good with those.]

Weather, huh? Like... what'd they study about it?

That's very true. They're a good people. I'm glad to live here with them.

[ It's certainly a very infectious attitude. ]

We're not sure. There was a lot of damage, and given how many years have passed, there wasn't much left to show things off. But.. They seemed to map the seasons, for starters, and we think one of the charts was comparing rain fall across somewhere, though I could not tell you where.

[there's a secretive touch to her smile] We also found what we think may be a map to another old city. Or, at least, a place of note from way back when. It's currently being studied by the archives and the Seekers, with Raine keeping a close eye on it too.

[She thinks about that for a second.]

That'd be good information, for planning caravans and everything. Knowing where rain can get bad would help a lot. Wonder if someone can get that thing working again...

And an old city, huh? They know where it is yet?

It could be...And useful, for watching for any repeated weather patterns during certain times of the year.

[predicting the best times to plant crops, for example - but planning for the sort of travel Rose does?]

..The ruins were too old, the technology there too decrepit to work now. But..with the new treaty with Gigas, perhaps they may have something that could jumpstart that sort of project.

Not yet. But I'm hopeful that will change soon.

Mm-hmm. Knowing when it'll rain a lot can help plan caravan routes, that's for sure!

[She tilts her head; then she nods.]

Yeah, I hope so. It'd be nice if the Gigans will share some of their tech with us. I wanna get some to sell, too!

[ She frowns, very slightly. Uneasy for reasons she cannot place a finger on. ]

It will depend on the technology... I would not want to accept anything of theirs that might lead any of us, might lead Union, down their path.
