Video + Action in Union's commerce district!
A: Video
[And it's Rose. She's grinning brightly, leaning down and looking at the monitor. Behind her, her Blaziken has his arms crossed and is watching. While Rose beams at the camera.]
I tell you, I take one business trip to Caldera and... uh... another god shows up! This got pretty intense, huh? Is everyone all right?
I'm a little worried about you guys!
B: Action
[True to promises made, the Spearowfeathers have set up a shop. There is a storefront with a brightly painted sign of a Spearow on it, and the word "SPEAROWFEATHERS" written underneath it. Rose is standing outside the storefront. They're not open yet; instead, her people are moving things into it, carrying wooden crates and everything else.]
[Rose has her arms crossed. But she looks proud.]
[They're moving up in the world! But it's also quite a sight; it's not every day that a new storefront opens up after all. (Thank Lenna for the loan.)]

[It may not pay the best, but hell, it's fulfilling work.]
Speaking of though... I should probably go back to Caldera in a few weeks to help my folks with the harvest. Even if I prefer the adventuring gig, it'd feel wrong not to head back and help out, especially now that I'm stronger than I used to be.
no subject
[There's a pause, then, and Rose nods.]
Yeah. Harvest is when they need the most help, right? It always looked crazy busy!

[Adell paused, and looked alert. Some kind of noise in the room behind him clearly got his attention.]
Who's there?
[And from a concealed corner of the room, a figure slowly moved forward, revealing itself as a Malamar. And it spoke... telepathically, to him. Though its voice could easily be heard by Rose in a stream of burbles.]
You are fortunate I no longer desire your head, fool. You pay dismal attention to your surroundings. All of your talk of Hope would be for nothing now... if I were here for that.
no subject
What the...?
[A beat.]
Adell, this a new friend of yours...?
no subject
Close enough.
Friend?! Tell her I have no need for such trivial concepts. I am merely here because I want to observe your foolish efforts to change the inevitable. It might provide me... amusement.
[Adell sighed, and shrugged, looking... not irritated, but this was not what he expected to happen today.]
...Like I said, close enough. Rose, this Malamar was one of Mewtwo's soldiers. It's decided it wants to follow me around for laughs.
[Malamar angirly flailed its tentacles, quickly bombarding Adell with a telepathic lecture, while ranting in its normal voice as well. Adell rolled his eyes. Save him, Rose.]
no subject
Uh. Wow.
[She pauses a moment, thinking about how to best pursue this matter. It's a little bit tough. It's... well. She wasn't really the diplomatic type.]
What... uh, do you think is inevitable? --Hey, do you have a name? Something I should call you?
no subject
For now, you both may call me... Nemo. As for what the inevitable is, that would be humanity's destruction. By their own hand.
[Adell's face remained passive, and calm.]
Obviously, I explained to him that Union was looking to bring peace to the land, and that while we still had work to do, we might have a shot at true, lasting peace.
A chance. But only that. I am curious how you will manage, given that your kind historically finds peace... fleeting. At best.

[She opens and then closes her mouth. Actually, she doesn't have a good argument for that. Her job -- okay, her other job -- is proof that people still resolve conflicts with violence. She considers, for a moment, and then she frowns.]
Union does a pretty good job of reaching out. But... I think there's people who always want to fight. It's always a problem.
But if we say it's inevitable that we'll fail, then we can't try to make a difference.
no subject
Many expressed that sentiment during the Master's incursion. I am here now to see how you humans intend to make that difference. If you all fail... all I lose is time.
[Adell, however, smiled at Rose's answer.]
You're right, though, Rose. It's like we were talking about. The world's not perfect, but we get as close as we can.
We will see how long your optimism will last. I do not share it.
[The Pokemon turned and waddled away, out of the room. However, as it did so, Adell's Warp Band lit up, establishing a connection, a bond, to the cloned Pokemon. Adell couldn't help but smile wryly.]
Maybe not yet.
no subject
Yeah. Maybe he'll come around. There's nothing to do but show him how things work here, right? And do the best we can!
[It seems like the smart move to her.]
no subject
[Meaning, certainly not the evil, hand-wringing villain he seemed like at first.]
And believe it or not, I'm glad he showed up like this. I was wondering where he went afterward and... well, maybe I didn't need to, I wondered if he was okay.
no subject
[She nods, before she smiles, crossing her arms.]
Yeah? Did you meet him, then he wondered off before he... uh... decided to hang out with you?
no subject
Anyway, it didn't take but a minute for Nemo to disappear. He slipped away quite quickly. Vanished like a ghost, almost. Dunno where he went or why. Maybe just wanted some time to think.
[And then he snorted a chuckle.]
Or to get away from our gaggle of sickening optimists. I dunno if that's how he'd phrase it, but I have a feeling it'd be close.
no subject
[She cracks a smile at that, then she nods.]
Yeah, that sounds like him. Maybe both are right. He's probably gonna need a little space, just while he gets used to us, huh?
no subject
But I think Nemo will come around. Eventually. Even if it might take... quite a while.
[The best things in life were often worth the wait. And if it meant giving hope to the hopeless, that would be worth every second it'd take.]
no subject
Don't worry, Adell. You'll get it!
