That Fighting Typing may have been a blessing against Malamar's Foul Play. But against Mewtwo's psychic assault? It would only prove to be a massive detriment. Adell was mostly focused on the Malamar in front of the group before the wave hit, and he was only alerted by being tackled to the ground.

His Houndoom, bold and loyal, knocked Adell's legs out from under him and piled on top of him. The Dark type was smart, and always had been; Beowulf knew he could shake off the Psychic assault better than his partner, so he moved to take the brunt of it.

Still, Mewtwo's psychic force was massive, and Beowulf simply couldn't protect Adell from all of it at once. While he doesn't go flying, the psychic waves tear through his body and mind and illicit a pained yell from him as he clutched his head in the aftermath.

Beowulf stood back up, and growled deeply at the newcomer, the armored Pokemon having earned a solid place on his bad side for hurting his partner. The Houndoom began running ideas through his head, forming a Nasty Plot.

Tabitha, for her part, managed to right herself after the psychic wave, and kept her two eyes trained on Malamar... wouldn't give that guy an inch just because a new pokemon showed up.
