[Action]
[Armin decided that the best place to watch his eggs hatch is in the sector of the Habitats where he's been sleeping since the quakes -- because someone is independent to a fault and hasn't let on that his home was damaged. But it's better this way, because there's enough room for Meredith-the-Ralts and Murgatroyd-the-Cherubi to cluster around the two eggs, with Gertrude-the-Steelix (who does NOT belong in this part of the Habitats, wow) looming protectively over the little group.
The black-and-yellow striped egg had cracked first, and now it slowly splits open, revealing what appears to be a tiny ball of fluff. Armin draws in his breath, gently tugging Meredith away from poking at the new baby --]
Mareep! You're a Mareep! [This is whispered in the most reverent of tones, then the Warp Band is hastily switched on.]
[Voice]
It's a Mareep!! [Warp Band is promptly turned off, because what is context?]

Okay, I'll make sure it doesn't get sick, then!
[He doesn't remember all of this because it wasn't really relevant to him before, but he's suddenly quite passionate about it. He has to take care of his Pokémon, after all!]
Jadwiga, gorgeous, if I give you some money, can you deal with the food thing? Take Emilia so nobody will try to mess with you.
Voice
[It takes Armin a moment to realize he isn't being addressed -- he's literally two seconds from being like "I'm not Jadwiga" -- but when he does, he politely waits for Feliks to finish his conversation.]
How many other Pokemon friends do you have?
Voice
Oh! Let's see, I've got... 7, now! Jadwiga's a Ralts, Emilia's a Houndour... Ludwik's, like, a Hoppip, and Danika and Marian are... Probably off sparring, they're a Mienfoo and a Scraggy. And there's Oskar the Ledyba and Krystyna the Vulpix--they're both kinda new!
Voice
[Armin audibly gasps -- it's an impressed, almost delighted gasp.] Ohhh! That's wonderful!
Voice
[A brief bark and some shuffling, and then his attention is back to Armin.]
Pretty rad, right? Not to brag or anything, but they're kind of amazing.
What about you? Like, what kind of Pokémon friends do you have?
Voice
Ah, up until quite recently it was just Meredith and I -- Meredith's a Ralts. But then I met Gertrude, a Steelix, and then Murgatroyd, who's a Cherubi. And now this little baby Mareep and an egg that hasn't hatched yet! It's fortunate I'm staying at the Habitats, otherwise I wouldn't have room for everyone!
Voice
[Yeah, Armin's enthusiasm is bringing out the attention whore in him.]
Oh my gods, a Steelix, for real? I can see how that'd be kinda a problem in a normal house. Sounds super cool, though! My parents were planning on a ton of kids and just got me, so most of my friends crash at my place instead of the habitats.
Voice
She's...very big, yes. [He falters a moment, exhaling slowly.] Well...well I used to live in a big house but...the earthquakes damaged it and...my grandpa's in the hospital right now, so. So I'm staying at the Habitats for now.
Voice
[So let's talk about the outside world, instead!]
I went to the caves once, too, and the mountains, and the forest, and the masoleum they just found!
I checked out the ruins in the swamp last week, but like, the Pokémon I met there weren't too friendly.
Voice
Ruins in the swamp? Wow, I hadn't heard about those! What Types did you meet there? Ghost ones?
Voice
[What had it hit him with?] ...Flying, for sure. Maybe like, psychic or ghost? They told me they'd been there for a super long time, guarding the same place. They were like... They had a big, round, colorful body, and one eye kinda on top, and these sort of thin, black wings and claws.
[His Ralts friend is making some very displeased sounds about this whole incident.]
Voice
[Cue the sound of pages turning as Armin looks this up. His Cherubi buddy will peep out some happy greetings in the meantime.] Biii!
Could it -- no. No, n-not possible. Nevermind.

It...sounds like...you might've seen a Sigilyph.
Voice
And whatever I saw, I saw a few of them, I just talked to one.
Voice
Still, if it was that...that's amazing!
Voice
[Also because "never come back" was kind of the apparent condition of "we'll allow you to leave." Not that fear of death holds him back, it's more that he doesn't want to go back on an implicitly accepted deal without a real good reason, not when they seemed to feel strongly about it.]
And no, I meant what's a Sigilyph. Is it that big a deal?
Voice
It. Yes. It's ancient.
