Discovering more of our ancient history, too. Once upon a time, humans really did create their very own Pokemon...but it didn't go too well for them.

Created them. Really? What happened? How in the world did they ever manage that in the first place?

But their creation took poorly to its new life, and to being controlled. Using the same methods that had birthed it, it created an army to destroy humanity.
[ He doesn't sound very dismayed about it. Actually, he doesn't sound very emotional at all about it. ]
Apparently, it did quite well at that. But I do have to wonder where it is now, since surely it survived.

[She wouldn't engineer a Pokemon like that...but the possibilities for more benign research are endless. Could research like that help to diminish Type weaknesses? Don't mind her. She's zoning out a little. Her brain is now in Science Mode]

We found some kind of lab, with ancient technology, and a surprisingly undamaged terminal where someone in times past had recorded their sad story.
