018 // action - union divine theater/ninetales vale/around union
[ a - union divine theater ]
Ah.....Left.
[ The Machomp and Nidoking holding up the decorative carving nod and move accordingly. Haruka surveys the result from several paces away, arms crossed. ] That's good.
[ A hired carpenter and her Mankey move in to affix the refurbished peace. No longer needed, Haruka glances around the rest of the damage. The dorm is mostly repaired by now, but the Theater is a long, slow process. They won't be putting on any more plays for a while...
...wait. ] Gene!
Woop! [ A Wooper flees the scene, the small rain cloud that'd been forming above some paint cans dissipating. Isn't he even allowed to dance his support anymore?!
He isn't really looking where he's running, and may very well end up lost. ]
[ b - ninetales vale ]
[ Ninetales Vale, while a haven for the physically spiritual, is also a place one can come for less directly spirit-related needs as well. For example, this unassuming building that has just reopened for business, every perfectly-shaped roof tile in place, is widely-known as one of the best places to go for a form of meditative hospitality centered around the drinking of tea.
Haruka is headed there now, dressed appropriately in a robe that crosses across her front. She takes a deep breath in front of the place, smiling to herself. Things are only going to get worse from here. She might need this. ]
[ c - HEADED RIGHT AT YOU, OH SAVIOR, GET OUT OF THE WAY ]
Move!
[ If the shout doesn't get you moving, Union pedestrian, perhaps the sound of a professional racing Rhyhorn thundering towards you on the open street might. It looks terrified, and is being pursued by a tall young "gentleman" on foot, who hurdles over a table of street wares like it wasn't even there in her quest to catch up to the stray beast.
The street is too crowded. So the young man looks for a handhold and begins vaulting himself up...onto the rooftops. Hope you weren't about to open a window! ]

[ And then, in a dusting of brilliant light and sparkles, Haruka is jumping down, trying to cut off the Rhyhorn's path. ]
no subject
[ She hadn't expected to be addressed, and Haruka gets blush and a confused look for the compliment. Not that she's objecting, of course!
Setting Myris on the roof, her oldest friend gets a gentle pat, before Gwendolyn turns to watch the actor in action. Before shaking her head, and taking off again, following in the Rhyhorn's wake. From the air, there must be something she can do to assist, surely? ]
no subject
[ People should probably be warned this Rhyhorn is coming. Though Haruka will try and slow it down as soon as she can... ]
no subject
...Understood!
[ A few beats of her wings, and Gwendolyn is sweeping ahead, calling "Clear the way!" and sending a few gusts ahead of her to move along those who might not be taking the sound of impending trampledom seriously. A few children are spirited out of the street itself and deposited on crates or in the arms of panicked parents.]

...and then, slowly, beginning to exert her will on it. Pressure from her legs, a strategically-placed hand or two, and the Rhyhorn begins detecting impulses on its back that it's been trained to obey. It's still scared, but that presence on its back is so calm. So sure. So confident that nothing is wrong.
The creature's still moving, but bit by bit, its steps slow. And when it brushes too close to a stall, Haruka is able to steer it aside. ]

For the moment, however, she's streaking ahead, aware that her wings are beginning to ache. This is the hardest she's flown with them since gaining them, though she's exercised regularly - clearly, she'll need to change up her workouts. One last gust sends people scurrying, before she pulls up short, hovering as dismay fills her. Then back she goes, looping round until she's above Haruka and her mount. ]
The bridge ahead is still out! You'll want to turn a hard right, where the street is clear instead!

Rhyhorn, naturally, don't tend to manage to execute ninety-degree turns. But Rhyhorn do things Rhyhorn shouldn't be able to when Haruka's atop them. She didn't nearly make this her career for nothing.
The turn helps with slowing the Pokémon, too. It's still moving, but no one is in any danger of being trampled anymore. ]

She follows along behind, occasionally dropping and running along rooftops, before resuming a glide with wings outstretched. The streets here may wind a little, but head along in one primary direction, so it's a simple enough matter to wait until the pokémon has been slowed accordingly. Only then does she move in closer, honest admiration evident in her voice. ]
That was very well done!

[ Here, have a grin in gratitude. ]

[ She snorts. ] They shouldn't be out here.
[ Not that she has Opinions About Rhyhorn or anything. ]
no subject
Ah, I see. [she extends a palm towards the Rhyhorn as her wings fold in against her sides, mindful to keep herself in view] I had heard that there were Rhyhorn races here, but with both the weather and recent events, I had not yet the opportunity to see them in action. I am glad this one is--
[a pause, then a glance up] --There is no lasting harm, I hope? T'would be a shame for it to be lamed out of understandable fear.
no subject
Right? [ The Rhyhorn sneezes.
This is apparently as close to yes as they are going to get. ]
no subject
That is good to know. [smile] This one has had quite enough adventure for one day, I'd say. Will you require escort back to the track?
[Asked out of politeness, mostly - this person appears to have everything in hand now where the Rhyhorn is concerned, and there are no angry mobs looking to descend upon their location in outrage over damaged goods]
no subject
[ Rhyhorn makes some sort of rumbly rock noise as Haruka begins the slow process of turning her mount around. ]
no subject
[ She backs up, staying in line of view for the Rhyhorn, before an indignant buuuu is audible from the roof behind her. Turning, she stifles a laugh for the exhausted looking Buneary, extending her arms so Myris can jump down to safety. ]
Have a safe trip home!

Or maybe it was for the Valkyrie. They may never know. ]
