[Feliks appears on the Warp Band feed all wrapped up in blankets and propped up against some pillows, his left arm in a heavy cast, bandages peeking out from underneath his nightshirt. There's still visible bruising on him even now, and several of his more protective Pokemon are curled up with him -- a Growlithe with his head in Feliks's lap, a Houndoom at his feet, a Dragonair twined around the headboard, a Pangoro looming nearby as if to ward off any further threats to his trainer...]

Alright, Union. So I've kinda been thinking, right?

[He grins, and it's clear that whatever damage that god did to him, his sass remains 100% intact.]

So as you might or might not know, my grandparents got a little stuck with just me for an heir, and like, before anyone gets worried, they're totes fine -- the house is gonna need some renovations like whoa, like the ballroom and the library are super totaled, but they're not hurt or anything!

But they're kinda not getting any younger. Stuff has been getting pretty crazy around here, and like, who knows how long they're gonna be able to keep keeping up like they have, right?

So... [He takes a deep breath, and the Dragonair leans over to nuzzle him encouragingly. He pets her little wing-ear-thing, gathers himself a moment longer, and continues:]

So, I guess what I'm saying is like... I'm stepping up as the head of our house. Let the old folks enjoy their golden years and junk. Plus, someone's gotta give the Council a kick in the butt now and then!

Okay, now on to the really important stuff, though -- who saw me Mega Evolve back there? Like, how rad was that?

[Sooo tired and bored and everyone smells bad.

...wait, he can't understand her can he?]

[He absolutely can not! But he's oddly sort of better at paying attention and understanding Pokemon's reactions and body language than humans, and like, it's only polite to talk when someone's clearly talking to you, right?]

[Huzar the Dragonair can understand, though, and trills at the Spritzee sympathetically. Everyone smells bad? That's so terrible!]

[And Feliks looks to her curiously, then takes that as a cue.]

Not so good, huh? That's lame, I'm sorry...

[Oh he has no idea--]

Noonvale, who are you talking to?

[Martin's ankle comes into view as the Spritzee chirps her response]

Pretty Fairy--oh, Feliks?

Is that what she calls me?

[Not inappropriate. Feliks laughs a little, settling a bit more comfortably into his pillows.]

[Martin picks up his band as Noonvale hops on his shoulder]

Well, the full name is Pretty Fairy Fire, but yes. Honestly, I think the only ones she calls by name are me and Boar...and only Boar because he's two giant swords and she's a little afraid of type disadvantage.

That's super cute. Well, I don't mind being Pretty Fairy Fire!

[There have definitely been less fitting nicknames in the history of the world.]

[Martin laughs as Noonvale preens]

She's glad you approve. Are you okay?

Pretty okay considering?

[He nods towards his cast; even that small motion looks a little stiff and painful.]

I'm bouncing back!

Considering we were up against a god, it's a miracle we're not all dead.

[He sighs]

...Please tell me you got a good hit off Sveta, though.

Sveta? No, I wish. Like, couldn't find her with the dragon in the way.

But I did find out a god can get burned like anyone else.

[There's a sort of grim, savage pride in his voice. He's far from happy about all this, but at the very least, Union brought the fight back to their attackers, and they brought it hard. It's something, at least.]

Well, if they decide to return we know how to keep them at bay. Charmanders.

[Martin smiles a little bitterly]

[Is Martin making a joke with him? I-Is this real life? Are they friends now? Feliks has no answers for these questions. It's actually possible he's imagining it, the pain medications are pretty strong...]

Totally. We'd better get on that plan -- hope the Breeding Center wasn't hit too bad!

If it was, well. Redwall was left mostly intact. I can make space.

Cool, 'cause we're gonna need a lot of Charmanders if that's the plan.

Maybe some Growlithes, for variety.

[The one with his head in Feliks's lap picks it up a little, giving the camera a curious look and an inquisitive little yap.]

For sure, can't have your defensive line getting boring, right?

It'll give the Charmanders a chance to rest, too.

Oh, for sure!

...So Redwall did come out mostly safe?

Mostly. I need to repair or perhaps simply rebuild the walls and hire some Ground or Grass types to help re-level the grounds and check the main building for structural damage, but I've hardly had any time.

...You must be kinda busy over there, with so many people's homes damaged.

[At least they managed to drive it out of the residential district before the rest could be destroyed, but even so...]

I've been doing most of my work with the people--there are so many now homeless and injured...

Yeah...

We'll bounce right back, though. We're not gonna let this bring us down!

[Martin nods]

Thank the Savior for the other gods...and other cities.

[That seems to calm Feliks down a little, easing him away from the moment of uncharacteristic seriousness.]

They were watching out for us.

[Like he's always believed the gods would, if everyone did their best to live right.]

They were. It's nice to know that Sveta really is as misguided and...insane as she seemed. That her ideas aren't what the gods want.
