Letter / Action / Video (cw: death)
1. [Several days after the attack by the Elite Four, once the reconstruction efforts have begun, a letter bearing the Tycoon family seal arrives at the homes of the various other noble families of Union.]
Dear Friend,
It is with deep regret and profound sadness that I inform you of the death of Alexander Highwind Tycoon. A member of Union's Council with many decorated years of service as a Ranger, Councilman Tycoon dedicated his life to the protection and betterment of the city of Union and its people. His bravery and kindness will live on in the hearts of his friends and family, and in those of the lives he touched during his time with us. Councilman Tycoon is survived by his daughter Lenna, and will be buried next to his departed wife Charlotte at the family's estate. There will be a brief memorial service at the Tycoon Estate in one week's time. Please direct all donations to the Pokemon Habitat and to Redwall, as Councilman Tycoon's memory is best preserved by aiding those in need in his stead.
Respectfully yours,
Lenna Charlotte Tycoon
2. [After the letters are copied and sent, Lenna heads outside to pay her own silent respects to her parents. She replaces the flowers on her mother's grave with a fresh bouquet before placing a second on her father's far fresher grave. Kneeling in front of them, she closes her eyes and clasps her hands in prayer. Somehow, she manages to maintain her composure long enough to maintain a respectful moment of silence, but it isn't long before her eyes well up with tears, her hands coming up to cover her face as she begins to softly cry. A short distance away, her Dragonite, Lucario, and Gallade stand vigil over her, heads bowed in turn in respectful solidarity for their trainer and friend.
Anyone who happens by the estate will be able to find Lenna either in the back as she's paying her respects, or inside if they should happen to stop in after she's composed herself a bit.]
3. [Once the Warp Band network is back up and Lenna's had a good week or so to mourn her loss, she appears on the network to give the general announcement. She's looking somber but determined.]
People of Union, I come today to inform you of the passing of my father, Councilman Alexander Highwind Tycoon. He left Union nearly two years ago to investigate an unnamed danger in the east, which I now know to have been the Elite Four and the dangerous actions of Ever Grande. Unfortunately, his eventual return to Union came too late to warn us of their attack, but he returned in time to gave his life to save mine in the midst of battle. His presence both as my father and as a Councilman of Union will be sorely missed.
However, I am aware that I am not the only one to have lost a loved one in the recent attack. Union has suffered a mighty blow by those who would spread their ideals through fear and coercion instead of friendship and compromise. In such trying times, as we have done in the past, it is more important than ever that the people of Union embody this selfsame spirit of cooperation and brotherhood. As the inheritor of my father's will and of the Tycoon estate, I pledge to do all that I can for the people of Union, and for the city that we love.
To everyone who lost friends or family during this attack, you have my deepest condolences and my assurances that I will do all I can to aid in rebuilding our city. I know that if we hold true to our bonds and to the example of the Savior, we will be able to endure even the saddest losses. Together, we will continue to survive, and we will overcome even the most overwhelming of odds. Someday, the world will be a peaceful place, and we will live in harmony not only with Pokemon, but with humans everywhere.
[Bowing her head for a moment, she manages a smile at the camera.]
Thank you for your time, and may the Savior bless you all.

[So after she bandages her side up nice and tight, she sets out.]
[She finds Lenna in the back, as she's paying her respects. Rose doesn't hesitate. She approaches, catching the subtle shake of crying shoulders, then puts a hand on Lenna's shoulder.]
...Hey.
no subject
As for Lenna herself, she doesn't even hear Rose coming, absorbed in her own grief as she is. She flinches in surprise at the hand on her shoulder, quickly turning around and fumbling with her hands in a vain attempt to dry her eyes. Private grief is fine, but she's a noble - she can't cry in front of her.]
...Oh, Rose! I didn't hear you come in.
[Her eyes, of course, are puffy and red. She's been crying hard enough and long enough that the telltale signs are impossible to hide. But she's trying.]
no subject
LIKE AN ASSASSIN.][She pulls her hand back after Lenna turns around, then lowers both hands in front of her. She threads her fingers together, partly to keep her hands still; when she gets nervous, she can fidget.]
I thought... I should check up on you.
[A beat. She's visibly been crying. Rose glances down at the grave -- it brings up thoughts of the man who raised her, who was her father for all intents and purposes -- and then looks back at Lenna. She knows what it's like to miss someone. Even if... she doesn't know what became of him.]
It's okay to cry, y'know. I'll keep it quiet, though.

[As she looks back into the other girl's eyes, Lenna's well up with tears all over again. There's a half-choked gasping sound from the back of her throat, and the tears begin to flow down her face.
She's only able to maintain a straight face for a few precious seconds before she's flinging herself forward to cry on the other girl's shoulder. She'll feel bad later, but right now she needs to get this out.]
I miss him so much, Rose! It's not fair!
no subject
It's not. He... [She feels something catch in her throat. When she tries to swallow, it doesn't go away. Her voice is a little thicker when she speaks, threatening to choke up too.] ...He just got back.
[She remembers. Lenna told her that much.] I'm sorry.

Eventually, he responds, trying to look not quite as shaken as he's still somehow feeling.] I'm sorry for your loss, Miss Tycoon

Thank you, truly.

The blow against Union was a strong one, but it's... nothing the city can't weather, right?

[It's been hard on everyone, Lenna included, but she's back in noble mode. Her father wouldn't want her to mourn forever.]

[It's clear that the wound is still somewhat raw, but Lenna needs to move on. She has responsibilities she can't ignore.]

[The legend of Fuuka's cooking has not quite reached Lenna's ears yet, but all the same, she's bad at accepting help.]

[No. No, he absolutely is not.]
[Is he letting that stop him?]
[Please. This is Feliks we're talking about.]
[He flies up to her building on an Altaria the day after he gets her letter, his unbroken arm holding a bag full of a slightly obscene amount of food as he approaches the front door.]
Lenna? Like, open up, it's me!
no subject
Oh! Feliks... I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting guests.

[Which is his way of showing concern about whether or not she's eating, honestly.]

[She's actually not very hungry, but Lenna is acutely aware of what a hypocrite saying so would make her at this point.]
