Because we hold the same ideals. Both the Ever Grande and Union live alongside pokémon and hold them in the highest regard. We seek to prevent the past from repeating itself. Humanity's hubris nearly brought about its premature fall, and it is through the kindness and benevolence of the Gods that we survived. We all understand this, and yet there are others who continue to oppress pokémon, or attempt to suppress or vanquish the Gods.

We will give them a chance to reform. We aren't monsters like they are. Should they choose to hold on to their ways, then they will be punished indiscriminately. We do it to ensure a future for humanity.
