[ When the warp band flickers to life, the image is held steady, revealing a rather serious-looking young woman with silvery hair and dark blue eyes. Though her shoulders are bare, the rest of her body is clad in plate mail, with feathers shaped to form wings on either side of her face. A bright blue swablu is perched on her left shoulder, still puffy with the fluff of the recently hatched.

Her lips press into a thin line, before she takes a breath to address her viewers. ]

I am Gwendolyn of the Ragnanival Tribe. I have been sent here to represent them in Union on behalf of the Citadel, and offer our strength in battle if Union would have use of it. It is the least we can offer, after the aid your people gave us.

[she shifts very slightly, looking momentarily uncomfortable] I have also brought a gift on behalf of my tribe, some arms and armor that may be of interest to those among you who are warriors. Our craftsmen are noted for the fine quality of their blades.

I am also told there are other Valkyrie present within the city. I would be grateful if I could be directed to them.

...Thank you for your time.

[with that, there's a polite bow of her head, and the feed ends]

The Valkyrie there is Ruta. [the brown Vakyrie nods stiffly. A hand then gestures, encouraging the bunny 'mon to come out from behind Gwendolyn] This is Myris, and this little one is Muninn.

It is a pleasure to meet one like you in person. Shifters are not very common amongst my tribe, though I believe there are some who reside at the Tree. My mother spoke of them when I was a child.

[Ahri greets Ruta cheerily, followed by pokespeech greetings to both Myris and Muninn. "Hello! Nice to meet you~" Before turning back to Gwendolyn.]

It's nice to hear! Honestly it's been less than a year since I found out I was one! But I've learned a lot through my time here and experiences since then~ I have grown rather fond of it. I'd love to meet more as well, just so I can compare thoughts and experiences with them.

[The little swablu looks at Ahri, before turning his face shyly against Gwendolyn's neck. He understood her quite well, but is still young enough that conversation isn't his strongest suit. Myris, on the other hand, is an old paw at dealing with pokemon and people alike, and she bobs what could only be described as a curtsy to Ahri. There are hints of grey in her fur, concentrated most strongly at the fluffy tips of her ears. "It is nice to meet you as well."

Gwendolyn straightens a little, trying not to feel awkward, then focuses on the matter at hand.]

I am not certain what sort of weapon you might like, but the armor pieces may suit you better. Please feel free to take a look.

Well I'm not really learned on any of these things. I've never worn armor or used a weapon! I've always depended on my abilities, but... I also learned that they aren't always efficient for everything, so I figure it's a good time to learn these other methods.

... What, ummm what would you suggest?

That would depend on your style of combat. [which certainly must] You do not have the look of a spear user, but..Have you handled blades at all?

[Daggers weren't something that they had brought with them, which was a pity; that might have suited Ahri more. The arrowheads are tapped with her fingers; was the ninetails an archer, perhaps?

After a moment, Gwendolyn places a hand on each piece of armor, setting aside a few for Ahri to get a closer look at: two different sets of bracers - one leather with fine feather detailing, one with firmer plating engraved with a motif based on the great tree; and two gorgets, one a thinner band with decorative feathers, while the second is larger, clearly made for someone (female) likely to see combat.]

Might you like something like these?

[Ahri shook her head.] Not in combat no... I've tried a few, swung them around. Curved blades and such, but never in anything serious.

If it helps, I do tend to move around a lot on the field? I've always been very mobile. [Came from her enhanced agility and evasive skills.

Looking at the pieces that Gwendolyn set aside, Ahri smiled and picked them all up to get a better look at them.]

These look amazing! I bet whoever made these is quite the artisan~ I really like them.

I think in your case, you would not want anything too heavy. The weapons would be ill suited to you, and we did not bring any smaller blades. There is not often much call for them as a Valkyrie.

Are you a very physical fighter? Or do you prefer to remain at range?

[ How to please someone from Citadel: praise the work of their tribe. Ruta stands a little straighter, but it's clear that both Valkyrie appreciate Ahri's appreciation. Gwendolyn herself can't quite not smile. ]

Yes. Our metalsmiths do good work.

I tend to keep my distance as best I can, yes. [And she has always been very slippery.]

Would there be something I should be looking for besides blades then?

[She looked around the items curiously before turning back to Gwendolyn.]

It definitely shows! I can only imagine what their best is like! Everyone always keeps their prized items close, I know I do!

Then I would recommend something to protect your body. Even at ranged, you may prefer gauntlets to protect your hands, or.. [The fine gorget-band is lifted] Protecting your throat is important. You never know when someone might breach your guard. This one is also fine enough to double as jewelry, if that is your preference.

[Ahri nodded, taking in the information in earnest and making sure to keep it in mind for future battles.]

Sounds good! You're really amazing at this aren't you? I bet you're a really good leader! [She smiles, trying out some of the neater gauntlets that attracted her attention and the gorget that Gwendolyn offered.]

Oh. I. Don't know about that. But it is important to know how to outfit yourself correctly, and know what armor suits the proper occasion.

[Not that the praise doesn't bring a bit of colour to her cheeks! How kind. (Myris nods her head approvingly from behind the silver haired girl.) Still, the choice falls to Ahri as to what item will suit her best!]

[Ahri nods animatedly and tries on each piece. She dances around the area to feel the weight of them on her body and how she could use them should she need them when in combat. Soon enough she was doing more combat oriented moves and showing off her swiftness with a smile.]

I can see what you mean, I think your options are great! So I can really have these?

Of course. We would not bring these as gifts if we did not intend for those of Union to have them!

[then a small smile forms] And should there be interest, perhaps our smiths might send more such items for trade later.

[Ahri beams and winks at her.] Thank you very much then! These are wonderful~

[At the mention of trade, Ahri looks over the other pieces of armor for gifting before turning back to her.]

Are you kidding? With stuff this amazing, I'm surprised some of your smiths don't just set up shop here~ I bet they'd do great.

[Though her more mischievous side did have her siding up closer to Gwendolyn with a mock coy look on her face.]

Now then~ You need to let me repay you for such wonderful gifts~

Citadel does not often export many goods to outsiders. But trade is important between neighbours and allies, and if any are to consider it, Ragnanival will do our best to lead by example.

[she frowns though, a tiny one: the traditionalists in the tribe would still look to the elder-regeant before agreeing to it. But that would be her sister's concern. not hers. Then she blinks, caught offguard by the sudden side siddle, and she blinks a bit owlishly at the firefox-woman.]

..Ah? There is no payment required for a gift.

[Her reaction causes Ahri to pause, if only in amusement as she shrugs and smiles innocently back at Gwendolyn.]
