[The feed is quiet for a moment while she finishes adjusting the camera. Still, the video has been carefully framed, like someone's spent a lot of time thinking about it. There's a faint noise from behind the camera of a Pokemon giving some encouragement.]

Right, okay. Hey, everybody. I just got this band recently, so I thought I should say hello. [She rubs her arm briefly and glances away as if trying to remember something.] I've been out of Union for a while. Has much changed?

[It's pretty early in the morning, so maybe there won't be many people out at this time. This way maybe Max can get a few photos of what decorations are still up before there's too much hustle and bustle.

But while Max is preoccupied with that whole taking photos thing, her Deerling has other ideas. Ever the social butterfly, she's started roaming a bit. Hey! You there! She's totally trotting right over to you, whoever you are.]

Dee! Dee deeer. [Isn't her fur just gorgeous? It's about time she got some more admirers.]

[ Whoa, a relative. Haruka has those. It's really easy to forget that sometimes.

Natto steps back to enjoy his strawberry ice cream while Trainer assesses the human in front of them, then nods at the Deerling. New friend, huh? The times, they have changed. ] She suits you.

[ Smiile. Not the sort of smile one usually gives one's cousins, but Haruka never takes that sort of thing into consideration. ] Too dear for words.

[Max kneels down when Clare comes over to show off her new bow. The Deerling makes a few soft noises while Max examines it, then beams when Max pats her on the head. Max stands back up after that.]

I guess your nickname stuck too well. [She's never gonna live down being Max "Deerling" Caulfield and having a Deerling, is she?] But thanks. It's nice to have more company.

[She looks over at Natto. Quite the artist, it seems.] Seems like you've made some new friends, too.

[ Eh, just evolve it.

Natto hurries to swallow his spoonful of dessert so he can bob his head politely at Trainer's...acquaintance? This is a new human. How exciting. ] Leavanny!

It's been a long year.

[ Greeting completed, Natto peeks into his basket. He needs to find something for someone Trainer knows and likes now.... ]

[Max smiles down the the Leavanny. It's nice to meet you, too. Clare, on the other hand, has started to circle Haruka slowly to admire this very tall human. So pretty :o]

That's what I'm starting to gather. [She's heard the strangest stories about all sorts of things happening in Union. And here she thought Caldera had been lively.]

[ Well, more people wear shirts in Union. If you're anything like Haruka you won't consider that a drawback.

She notes the Deerling but doesn't reach out for pettins or anything, though if it's possible to get even cooler just by slightly adjusting her posture, well. Oops. ] Did you just get back?

[ Natto digs in his basket, looking worried. He'd had a great flower in here earlier!! Where is it?? ] Leavanny....

[Also, food in Union doesn't burn one's mouth. But it might be too late for most of Max's tastebuds.

Clare gasps faintly. Very cool :o She bounds over to Natto to tell him how cool his trainer is, but gets distracted by his searching.] Deee? [Does he need help?]

Yeah - recently. [Maybe a month is pushing recent, but stuff's happened. She gives a nervous smile, a quick sort of 'sorry not for saying anything' even if they've never been close.] My parents wanted to stay in Caldera a while longer, though.

Van van. [ If Clare'd like to help that might make this go even better! Will you help him pick out something your Trainer would like? (Natto will make sure it's fashionable.)

Nah, no hard feelings. And look at you all grown up. ] Independent living, huh.....

[ A grin for the camera. That was your thing, wasn't it. ] It's a good place for that.

[With that encouragement, Clare'll step forward and try to nose her way into her bag. Whatcha got in here?

Oh, don't worry, Haruka. Max will find an excuse to take a picture of you at some point. You'd be a perfect model. ]

Well, I'm glad I ran into you. It's nice to see a familiar face. [Maybe Haruka can help her with all this Enlightened stuff. But... well, she won't ask for it now. Maybe - maybe another time.]

Well, you just missed the play... [ Though from the wince Haruka is careful to hide, this may not be a bad thing. ] There's lots of new craftsmen in the artisan district. Most are Calderan, but you never know.

[ And she makes a point of not going there often, as her usual rambles are in company, and her usual company has Opinions About Art.

Natto, seeing it's a strange angle for Clare, adjusts so the Deerling has a better look inside. It's mostly yarn, ribbon, fabric scraps, and the occasional status-cancelling Item or Berry, but he's also been picking up interestingly-shaped leaves and flowers that have fallen from the autumn trees. Anything appeal? ] Lea?

[ At the veeeeerrry bottom of the basket there is what looks like a strangely odd Cheri Berry, and it seems to be shivering, but that may be a trick of the light. ]
