Who: Rise Kujikawa and Minako Aino
What: Two ditzes go exploring
When: After they're performed/Soulfasted out
Where: The Ancient Battleground
Summary: Rise and Minako owe each other a break from hectic Union stuff, so they go exploring some sweet ruins.
Wanting to offer Minako proper transportation (and to make it exceedingly clear to her friends she was taking a break for a while), Rise brings her Gyarados along as flying transport for both of them. It's nice to travel in style, and Namazu is happy to really stretch her wings.
Rise's happy to get out herself, but she frowns looking out over the landscape. "Man, it's kinda bleak out here," she says. "I hear there's a lot more interesting stuff underground, though. Wanna land and look for a way down?"

Rise's happy to get out herself, but she frowns looking out over the landscape. "Man, it's kinda bleak out here," she says. "I hear there's a lot more interesting stuff underground, though. Wanna land and look for a way down?"

She was curious, though.
"Alright, yeah. Let's try that."
no subject
"Yeah, supposedly a lot of ruins wound up underground, like in the Swamp. I'm not sure if that's because stuff tends to sink over time or if it was built down there..."
no subject
She looked around.
"A place like this, though... Usually ruins and battleground sites have lots of ghost Pokémon. We'll have to avoid using Normal type moves."
no subject
She fiddles with her Warp Band. "Although speaking of both of those...how are you around Spiritombs? I uh, figured I'd bring mine and scare off all the smaller ghosts."
no subject
For her own purposes, she had picked her Sylveon and Aggron. Hopefully, Aaron wasn't feeling too lazy today. She also had her Staraptor, but he might not do well underground. But the Persian and Dragalge should be helpful. She also brought her Chingling, but she needed to make sure the little bell Pokémon didn't panic at the wrong time. She was hoping some of their training recently would help with that.
"Do you think I should switch out Rico for something else? Something that isn't a flying type?"
no subject
Rise concentrates on her Warp Band, and then she's backed by a hideous amalgamation of departed spirits who are quite keen on getting the local wild Pokémon talking about their relationships with their mothers. A Spiritomb's gotta eat, and Himiko sparkles at her whenever she tries to get food from things that aren't psychoanalysis.
"Actually...something to carry us down in there would be a good idea too," Rise says, looking out for the nearest sinkhole. "No one said anything about stairs..."
no subject
"Yeah... I'm not sure. If no one's been here in a long time, then the stairs might just be gone."
She held her own Warp Band out, and, sure enough, Rico was there. The Staraptor was much smaller than the Gyarados. He could carry one on his back and another with his feet. For dropping down into a hole, that wouldn't be terrible.
"Do you want to ride on his back?" Minako would at least offer the more comfortable travel method to Rise first.
no subject
Rise gives Rico a pat and a brief introduction before climbing up on his back. "Ready when you are."
no subject
"It shouldn't be too bad. He's carried me like that before." Granted, that was mostly just in urgent situations and in their stage routines, but whatever... "Ready, Rico?" He nudged his head against Rise's hand. He certainly didn't mind another pretty lady riding on his back! He hoped all those lady flying types were watching... right? right? He glanced about as she climbed on, only mildly disappointed there wasn't anyone around to impress with his prowess. Once Rise was settled, he spread his wings and lifted off. Minako reached up, and they grabbed each other, hand in talon, and he was off down the hole.
No worries! He was gentle!
no subject
The lovely duo and their bird companion drop down the nearest pit in the ground and into a voluminous tunnel system with enough room for Rico to spread his wings. Similar to the Ruins in the swamp, the walls are clearly manmade and seem almost like buildings that sank into the earth rather than something that was built below ground to begin with.
"See anything you want to look at?" Rise calls down. She can feel Pokémon - nervous, aggressive, territorial - all around, but had difficulty seeing any of them in the dim light of sinkholes and the cluttered, ruined floor.
no subject
"I brought a light with me." Since she didn't have a Pokémon with Flash, Minako often carried something with her to light the way when she explored dark tunnels. "Do you need one?"
no subject
no subject
Minako was impressed. She'd never actually seen a Pokémon do that before just to light up an area like that. She really needed to get one of hers to learn it.
"Is that Flash?"
I'm just gonna switch to her new account now, sorry continuity
"It'll fade out after a couple minutes, though, so we should look around quick."
no problem :)
"Maybe split up a bit, but not too far." She nodded to Rico, and then tuned her own band a bit to summon Artemis, her Persian, and Eros, her Sylveon, setting them off to explore a bit, too, around the area they were currently in.
no subject
"I can use my Englightened powers to keep track of where we are and talk to you over a distance, if you don't mind me thinking at you," she offers.
Whether Minako's alright with that or prefers to use Warp Bands instead, Rise will take the high road, investigating a tumbled-down rockslide/ramp that might lead back up to the surface.

"Oh wow! That's really cool!" Minako concentrated, maybe trying a little too hard.
Like this?

She nodded.
"So, I'll head off this way, and we can meet back here once we're done." She considered for a moment. "Maybe count off about a hundred paces or so?"
no subject
With that, she heads off with her glowing and shadowy companions, checking over one of the rockslide-ramps leading into the tunnels to see what it might have once been.
no subject
Minako headed off the other way with her flashlight and companions. It wasn't long before she squealed loudly and they came running back from that direction being chased by a blue rock person that looked like it was wearing a martial arts outfit.
no subject
Ah! Uh, wanna trade?
no subject
Okay! Let's give this a try.
[She pointed to her right, indicating she was going that way, and then dodged.]
no subject
Ow. Right. Part Normal. Not resistant. Ow.
[The Mightyeana, for its part, just sits down and looks confused at Minako. Play?]
no subject
[Minako stopped at seeing the Mightyena pause.]
What's this?
[But Eros, her Sylveon, caught on right away. Play! The Fairy-type bounced around suddenly, crouching and trying to invite the other dog-like Pokémon to play around.
Meanwhile, the Sawk in question was a little punch happy... even if it wasn't aiming at Rise, it just... liked punching things.]
no subject
[Meanwhile, Rise carefully stands up, rubbing what's going to be a nice bruise but otherwise not turned into a paste.]
...uh. You think these guys are just happy to see people?
no subject
[The Sawk came back towards Minako and punched the wall next to her. She squealed, ducking under a shower of dust and pebbles. The Pokémon wasn't trying to hurt her. It looked more like it was trying to impress her.
Eros bounced around the Mightyena and gave a playful nudge.]
no subject
Minako...I think we found dorks.
no subject
I think so, too.
Do you think they want to come with us?
[Eros tilted his head. Heeeeyyyy... what was with the washing?
Sawk looked about ready to punch something else, but Minako didn't want it to destroy the place! These were still ancient ruins, after all, and others might be interested in finding wall paintings and things.]
Oh! You can stop now!
[And, surprisingly, it listened.
Minako looked surprised.]
no subject
[She gestures with her Warp Band.]
no subject
[She lifted her Warp Band as well, focusing on the rock-like Pokémon, and started to talk to it gently. It definitely seemed receptive, and, in a few moments, she had a new friend.]
It's called a Sawk.
{OOC: Sorry it took so long to respond. I had a lot going on and I wanted to focus on the game events. I think this is close to wrapping up, anyway. ^_^;;}
no subject
[Rise is not entirely comfortable with her Warp Band conversation results of the Mightyena flopping over for a belly rub, but you know, she'll take it.]
Aaaaand this scary-looking guy acts like every other dog Pokémon. We're good at this.
no subject
We were lucky, I think. [Relatively speaking. Not that they weren't good at the bonding, but they seemed to have ended up with dorky but decent Pokémon in the process.] Do we want to head back?
no subject
no subject
Alright. How about this way?
[And there was definitely more exploring to be done before heading back!]
{OOC: Call it here?}
