Okay, Five-Iron! Hold on!
[On this fine day, Elhaym van Houten is in one of Union's parks. Grass and the occasional tree dot the surroundings. She has her uniform off; this is a day off, so instead, she wears a cream-colored tunic with golden trim on it, and dark blue pants. In her hand, she has a soft balsa wood pole, which swings back and forth. And directly in front of her is her Seedot.]
[He looks like the happiest Seedot ever. He beams, then he hunkers down, his eyes screwing up just a little. Elly swings the balsa wood staff back, and then...]
FORE!
[WHOOSH! The Seedot goes flying into the air, hits the grass with a bounce, and comes to a stop. Elly grins after him while the Pokémon chirps happily.]

[She looks down at Five-Iron. He bounces up and down eagerly.]
...he really likes it. He wants to, um, fly.

[A scientific improbability even WITH TMs.]
...one way to allow for such a thing, I suppose. You haven't had any accidents with this method, have you?
[Broken windows, for instance.]
no subject
Very few!
[Which is not a "no."]

I guess if it helps form a bond. How did you determine this was what made him happy, anyway?

[She pauses at that, then laughs. It's funny, but a little bit embarrassing to admit. But it makes a good story, she supposes, and she doesn't know many people who have that sort of outrageous tale to tell about their Pokémon. Plenty of other, equally outrageous tales, sure. But not that one!]
He was mad at first, but when he realized it was an accident, he decided it was fun. So he had me, um, keep doing it.
And then we became best friends?

I guess that means she's a hit with PokemonNO.]I... see. That's certainly a unique method of meeting a Pokemon.

[Elly smiles, then she shrugs, and reaches down to pat Five-Iron on the head. He looks up, pleased -- and annoyed that he doesn't get to go flying again.]
How did you meet this cute little one?
[She motions at Martena.]
no subject
[Martena preens. You just mad 'cause you didn't HARDEN enough bro.]

[Elly nods, cheerfully.]

[...probably.]
