Action/Video
[Action - Around Town - October 30th & 31st]
[In the several days leading up to the end of the month, Chie can be seen in the business district of Union shopping for food. She's buying a relatively large amount of meat, but also more common staples such as milk and bread. And just for good measure and as a bit of personal comfort, she also stocks up on some chocolate and candy.]
[As the feed clicks on, Chie's face is barely illuminated, and it seems as though she's in a cramped place. She's also badly trying to conceal a worried expression.]
So, I'm kindaaaaa... not gonna be around for a few days.
[She pauses, eyes casting about left and right.]
...A week. I'll be gone for a week.
[A small nod.]
I'll be fine. I, uh... I think. I hope.
[Taking a deep breath, she reaches toward the Warp Band.]
Don't look for me.
[Action - At Home - During Soulfasting]
[Anyone who's known Chie for any length of time probably knows exactly what that awkward Warp Band transmission from before was about: she's terrified of Ghost Pokemon, and they're always out in force during Soulfasting. So she's availing herself of a time honored Satonaka tradition of locking herself in her bedroom, huddling under the blanket, and hoping nothing phases through the wall to play harmless but deeply terrifying tricks on her. She trusts Morgiana not to let anything scary inside, and Chie herself will likely let close friends in with a minimum of prodding, but otherwise she's gone full hermit mode for the week unless something very important pulls her away.]

[Chie sighs. She really isn't okay, and she wants to put on a brave face for Morgiana. But she's too freaked out to make it convincing, and really kind of wants the comfort more. There's a bit of shuffling behind the door, followed by a click as she unlocks it, and then the noise of blankets being hastily moved around as she makes for the bed again.]
...come in.

Chie looked nothing like her normal exuberant self. It was an alarming transformation. Morgiana instantly felt worried herself. What had she missed?]
What's wrong? This isn't like you at all.

S-Soulfasting...
no subject
Soulfast is meant to be a celebration, is it not?
[She's not actually very clear on the details. She didn't grow up in Union, after all, and missed it last year.]

[The blanket mound shudders. Chie's toes curl.]

[Phobias don't have to make sense.]
no subject
They really bother you that much?
no subject
They always have. It's stupid, I know...
no subject
[She put her arm over Chie's shoulder in a way she thought of as comforting and protective. She didn't get why you would be overly afraid of ghosts, but apparently Chie was.]
If you feel it that strongly, how could I say it was stupid?
no subject
I dunno... I was worried you'd think I was weak or something.
no subject
But I know you're not weak.

[Finally, a small smile.]

[Hug!]
no subject
[She's all too happy to return that hug, turning it into full-blown cuddling.]
...Do you think we could sleep together for this coming week? Not, like, together-together, but just... y'know. It's scary at night.
no subject
[One moment. Brain rebooting.]
Uh...That..Yes?
no subject
[Her smile grows, and she lets out a big relieved sigh at Morgiana's agreement.]
I think I'll be able to sleep a lot easier knowing you're there.
no subject
[Sure, she had thought about the idea before, but had never felt it to be her place to suggest it. I mean sleeping with someone? And not just a friend or travelling companion, but someone you loved! That was entirely different!]
Are you sure you want to actually...that is...
no subject
[Chie nods, smiling, as she leans over to press a kiss to Morgiana's lips.]
But only if you want to.
[Moving a bit, she untangles one of her hands from the blankets to reach over and take one of hers gently.]
I have a Dragonite plushie I can hug if you're not ready, so don't worry, okay? I know it was kind of selfish of me to ask...
no subject
[She wasn't sure what to say after "it's just", so she just kind of trailed off into silence and clasped her hand back.]
no subject
[It's amazing how quickly Chie can forget fears that were nearly crippling her moments ago in the face of Morgiana's worry, but it's really just a testament to how much she cares about her.]
Here.
[Finally unwrapping the blanket from around herself, Chie brings her free hand up to gently lay it atop Morgiana's shoulder, slowly reclining into a lying down position and bringing her down with her. And then she just... lies there, hugging her close.]
I'm here for you, okay? Just like you're here for me.
no subject
This is nice.

[She's definitely calmed down from before. Now it's time to help Morgiana do the same.]
