Event - The White Dragon

[The Warp Band feed opens with the Matriarch’s impassive face looking slightly haggard]

Union, I have a problem and am in need of assistance. About two hours ago refugees just started streaming into the Citadel territory. They say they’re from a city called “Glacier” that is being ripped apart by a giant white Dragon god. Sounds like it’s something up your alley. I’m sending them your way, we should probably go take care of that before it makes it over here. If you guys want to help out, I’ll lend you some of our birds. My Valkyries are already heading over, I’m sending a few flights out to the other cities as well to see if they want to join the party. Let me know what you decide.

Oh, the refugee leader is a fellow named Birgir. I gave him a Warp Band so he can probably tell you more about the situation.

[ Haruka grins. ] Only one way to learn.

[ She swings a leg on the Rotomcycle herself, securing the fruits of her shopping trip to the back of the device with some rope. But she won't force Fuuka to ride if the other girl doesn't want to. Not everybody shares her hobbies. ]

[For a few moments, Fuuka looked back at her Espurr before looking back at the Rotomcycle. At first, the girl didn't say anything but it seemed like her Pokemon made the choice.

As her Espurr looked carefully, she eventually went toward it before placing her hand on the seat saying as if she wants to go on]

Well...if she wants to go on, I don't see why not! But please don't drive too fast though, I don't know if I can handle it!

What's that supposed to mean? [ Haruka feigns being offended - she's a very safe driver!! - but Espurr gets an approving glance. She does enjoy intrepid kittens.

Here's an extra helmet. ] Hold on tight.

Exactly what it's suppose to mean! [Okay, that was pretty mean of Fuuka but she simply gave Haruka a smirk. Just to let her know that she was joking.

But once Fuuka got on her helmet on, both her and her Espurr were starting to have second thoughts. However, it was too late now! With a gulp, she nervously looked back at her friend]

Uh...o-okay, I'm ready whenever you are...?

[ Oh, this is adorable. Haruka adjusts her own helmet and grips her handlebars. ] Broken Möbius.

[ Nope, that's not some arcane Sanctuary spell, it's the name of the Rotom inside this -cycle! Fuuka may hear what seems like a chittering laughter from deep within the machine, and then they're taking off -

- much faster than Haruka had wanted. She clamps on the brakes and urges her Rotom to behave, but it likes being a bike just as much as Haruka likes owning a bike.

Sorry not sorry for the wheelie they just popped. ]

[Yup, Fuuka and her Espurr were definitely regretting it now! The moment that she heard what Haruka said, she was not liking this one bit.

Her suspicions were confirmed as her worst nightmare came true!

Now that they were going off a lot faster than she thought? Both her and her Pokemon held on even tighter before she gave a loud "WHOOOAAA...!!"]

H-Haruka, what are you doing? This is a lot faster than I wanted it to be...!

Shoot--!!

[ Jeez. A Rotom spends most of its life thinking it's a Pidgey and it gets ideas about speed. Haruka gets the bike going at a sane clip, then slows it down even more as punishment for the unruly Pokémon. It can run itself ragged when she doesn't have passengers.

Whew. ] My bad. Everybody still in one piece back there?

[ If she jokes about it, maybe it won't seem like it was that bad? ]

[Should Haruka look back, she could see that Fuuka's hair was a mess and her Espurr was still holding onto her trainer for dear life! While she had her eyes open and shaking, she had to admit.

It was a lot of fun!]

I...I think so? Goodness, I never been on something quite like that before! I just didn't think it would go so fast!

[ Neither did Haruka, but she's keeping that to herself. ] That was nothing. You should Bond with a Rhyhorn....

[ Okay, most Rhyhorn are slow. But she has a good eye for them, and the ones that do like to run....there's nothing like it....

She shouldn't wax poetic about Rhyhorn atop a Rotomcycle, though. It is neither fair to the Rotom nor conducive to getting where they need to go. Haruka takes a curve steeply but smoothly. This ride is indeed under control now. ]

If they're that fast, then I should prepare myself when I do! Although, I must admit, my Espurr and Aerodacytl are ready a handful!

[Take that what you will. Either way, once Haruka for control of the bike, Fuuka giggled to herself. She never been on anything quite like this!]

Where did you get this anyway? It seems rather familiar, I think I might have saw this before!

Some Engineers invented it. They let me test-drive...

[ Broken Möbius makes happy engine noises. It likes being part of a Rotomcycle and going super fast! ] There's an off-road model, too.

[ Maybe you've seen one of those? ]

[The more Fuuka stared at it, the more she couldn't help but wonder...]

Oh, I know! I know there was a lady who invented one of these before but I never thought there was more than one made! To think...this is what it's like to ride on an Engineer's invention...

[Hmmm...] Perhaps I should try to create something similar, I don't want to fall behind on everything!

[ A small laugh. ] There's no pressure. Art brings value to the world in its own way.

[ Haruka faces fully ahead to really feel the breeze on her face. ] It reveals what the veils of perception obscure.

[ She sure seems fond of art... ]

[With that, her Espurr just blinked at Haruka before tilting her head]

I don't think I can argue with that! It just a shame that some people seem to appreciate what art can do. Since they don't think it's worth the time.

Although, I'm quite envious of those who can make art like this. I don't think I can do anything this complex yet!

There's no hurry.

[ And just because it's funny, she pairs that with speeding up the Rotomcycle. But only a little.

Where were they going again? ]

But still, I just don't to be behind! And especially now that... [Mumble mumble] I have Yukiko I need to do my best for her...!

[However, she does seem to notice they were picking up speed. Again, she raised an eyebrow at Haruka almost asking where she was going once more]

[ Haruka just chuckles. "Yukiko", huh.... ]

We're here. [ It's a Berry mart. ]

[...Well then....!]

The...Berry Mart? Oh dear, I thought it was going to be something more dramatic?

[Ahaha...ha...ha...haaaa...]

Your friend's been very patient. [ A grin at the Espurr. ] Doesn't she deserve a treat?

[ Plus Haruka needs a lot of things that can heal Burns. But sssh. ]

[Fuuka can't argue with that! As she and her Espurr got off, her Pokemon gave a giggle before making her way closer to the store!]

I don't see why not and especially after all that training she's been through! Although, I wonder why you seen to keep it a secret though!

I couldn't help but wonder where we were going!

[ Haruka grins: Fuuka just answered her own question. She lets Broken Möbius out of the Rotomcycle to stretch his, uh.....to fly around for a while before repossessing the Engine Core. He chitters and vanishes into the shop, a stern mental warning not to cause trouble following him.

Here, Fuuka. You (and Espurr, lovely lady that she too is) get the door held open for you. ] What kind of training?

[With that, the girl giggled to herself. As they walked inside, she couldn't help but wonder why she had to be so secretive about it. But until then?]

Well, my Espurr and I have been looking around to see if there were anymore Pokemon we should get. We got a friend and I thought it would be nice to have some more with us!

Although, my Aerodactyl has been getting a lot of training too just by looking around for some more Pokemon!

The more the merrier, huh. [ For years it'd just been Haruka and World Shaking. And now she has a theater full of Pokémon.

This is a slippery slope Fuuka's descending, but somehow Haruka doubts the other girl will mind. ]

I suppose so. It's kind of funny, I never really thought about getting another Pokemon until Yukiko said it would be good for the both of us!

[That and she more or less made a deal with her parents...]

But then again, there have been a lot of bickering as well! I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not!

[ Haruka has begun perusing the wares, examining each individual Berry to pick the ones in the best condition. ] That might be destiny.

[ This one's good. This one, not so much. One goes in a small bag, the other back to the shelf. ] As long as there's two people, there'll be two opinions. Disagreement's inevitable.
