23 [Video, sort of]

[The video is on, but all it's capturing is snippets of forest at an odd angle. It's also a little hard to make out Feliks's voice about the noise of a Rapidash's hoofbeats. (Here and there, when the Warp Band's camera moves, the Pokemon's mane or side comes into view.]

Waver, Yuuna! I'm going out now!

[He's too focused on his goal to bother sending them any sort of a private message. The whole network can know, see if he cares.]

Whaaaaaaat?!

[Waver felt lost and completely confused. The last few days had been spent recovering his stamina from their impromptu beach trip, that had happened in quick succession of his trek back to Sanctuary. His muscles ached, and he was tired.

He also hadn't been paying much attention to the warp band.

The message was completely unanticipated-- as evidenced by Waver's disheveled hair and owlish look that wasn't dissimilar to someone who had just rolled out of bed.]

He's back -- he's alive -- Savior, he's alive, Waver, I have to go!

[...And he's already in the process of going, he just sort of promised he'd at least tell them when he did.]

[Waver, in the middle of trying to throw supplies together, tripped over everything and landed headlong into the wooden floor. Groaning in agitation, he threw his pillow across the room.]

North of Union, heading for the swamps -- Yuuna's coming too, I'm not alone, and I could handle going that far even if I was. Promise.

Don't give me that-- we agreed that you wouldn't be travelling alone, remember?

[Because traversing the wilderness alone on this trek was what led to some of the problems in the first place.]

[The problem was, he had neither a pokemon to ride or fly with.

...That is, until a sharp rap on his window earned a startled yelp in reply. Eyes wide, Waver looked up at the Braviary that was hanging out on the other side.

Brows furrowing, torn between his fear of flying and relief over having the opportunity to go, Waver snapped his bag shut.]

Looks like I'm going too. Yuuna's an excellent Ranger.

[Having seen the broadcast herself, knowing the face...Yuuna's actually not expecting Feliks to even bother letting anyone know know. That said, she's already swinging into action, her own Warp Band giving a plain view of cream-colored skin and small bat-wings as Yuuna climbs on Susume.]

I saw the broadcast! I'll be at your location in...about thirty seconds. Going with you, have my medical supplies.

[Susume grunts and the wind-roar seems to pick up.]

Savior above, what a day!

Good, come as fast as you can. He's in the swamp -- probably north, right? No other big ones around here?

No. Just the Northern Wetlands and the Marsh. If he's in the Wetlands, you're going to need a lift. I have Kuina ready to go. Rapidash can't cover that much ground in any real speed.

[Almost as she says that, there's a rush of wind above as a freaking jet engine streaks through the sky overhead, and a Dragonite lands a hundred feet ahead of the equine Pokemon on the map. And a second dragon appears in a flash.

Look, she's giving you the chance to be cool and jump onto a Salamence from Rapidash-back.]

Good. Good.

[Feliks doesn't even hesitate. He steers the Rapidash as close as he can, then ramps that shit very carefully stands up enough to be able to make the jump. It's a bit of a near thing, but he manages to pull himself up onto the dragon's back, then sends the Rapidash home on the Warp Band.]

Ok, let's go!

Did you mean to send this out to the entire network?

[Regardless, she knows exactly why Feliks would be in such a hurry.]

I'll have fresh fruit ready.

[She might not be a trained doctor, but she does know that Fai looked like he'd missed meals, and he'd already been skinny.]

[Really it's that he didn't want to slow down even long enough to change the network settings.]

...Bring something that'll fill him up more. Something with beans or mushrooms or something.

[...Right, that was probably a little rude.]

[It's okay, Feliks. She's not offended by it because she knows how he desperately searched for so long. Manners take a backseat to reunions with long lost loved ones.]

I'll have both ready along with water. He'll need the fruit to raise his blood sugar level if he's feeling weak.

[That makes sense when she says it, but isn't something he has the spare mental energy to focus on right at this instant. He'll trust her to take care of it.]

Goodness, is everything okay? Do you need some help over there?

[The hoofbeats are as loud as they were in the recording, making his voice hard to hear here and there.]

No, --verything's fine, I've totally g-- ---s!

[Everything, in point of fact, is better than it's been all year for him. His self-imposed search and rescue mission is still in effect, but it's no longer indefinite.]

[There were a lot of things Fuuka was willing to back down on but this was definitely not one of them!

She wasn't going to allow herself to see someone get hurt!]

No, it isn't! I don't know where you are but please tell me, it sounds like you're in a lot of trouble!

[Funny, everyone sort of gave up on helping him actually find Fai for months, when he was pushing himself just about as hard as he could without it actually killing him, and now, now when he had a concrete location and an end point measurable in hours at the outside, people all of a sudden wanted to help again. Which had very little to do with Fuuka personally, since she hadn't really known them at all before Fai's disappearance, but as noisy as all this was, he felt like he hadn't had a moment of needing less help than he did right at that moment in a long, long time.]

[Saber, having been thoroughly awoken by Waver's semi-panicked departure from the house, is sitting awake, sipping tea, and indulging her curiosity.]

You're in quite a bit of a hurry.

[And stating the obvious, but that might be a Doublade cultural thing.]

[Feliks probably isn't positioned to see her face, considering that his side of the video feed is mostly showing a bit of his knee and the grass and tangled forest plant life that the Rapidash is rushing them by.]

Well, something kinda came up all of a sudden.

Yuuna's already following me out with a couple of flying pokemon, and Pamela's getting food, and someone's arranged for a hospital bed or two, and I think that's probably all?

[He's not thinking very much at all, though, so there might be a detail or two he's not considering.]
