A very important date
Who: Chie and Morgiana
What: A quiet night in
When: September 19th
Where: Chie and Morgiana's apartment
[It's been a good few months since Chie and Morgiana moved in together, and while they've been getting along really well, they actually haven't been on too many dates together. Plenty of sparring matches, walks through the city, and meals at favorite restaurants, but none of it ever really felt like a date so much as hanging out together. And while Chie definitely appreciates the casual nature of their relationship as compared to the relative pressure of her last one, she wants to do something special for Morgiana to show her how much she cares. So tonight, the two of them are cooking a meal together. Chie would have done it herself, but by this point even she is aware of just how big a disaster she is in the kitchen. After a bit of discussion, the two decided they'd try it together - Morgiana can stop Chie from putting anything crazy in the dish, and Chie can handle the actual cookware so nothing ends up broken. That's the name of the game tonight as these two extremely amateur cooks attempt the harrowing task that is... beef and veggie stew.]

Okay, so what do we do first? Brown the meat?
[Chie sprang for some fancy cuts from Citadel. If they don't mess this up, it'll be a fantastic stew. She's already drooling a little.]
no subject
[She peered at the meat to make sure it was all just beef. She was pretty sure that if Chie was going to get any part right, it was the meat, but it paid to be careful.
She had shooed Gultas off earlier, as he was an herbivore. Also for other reasons, the specifics of which she wasn't sure of but still felt very important.]

We can get it done even faster like this!
[It begins.]

The book says medium. We're sticking by the book, tonight.
no subject
Yeah... I guess we probably should, huh? So what's next? Vegetables?
no subject
[Her finger traces out the recipe down the page.]
This is going to take a while.

[She leans over to take a look at the recipe book.]

[It's all written out in the book in a detailed, easy to follow list of instructions. Overall cooking time: 1 1/2 hours.]
We maybe have not scheduled this out quite right. I hope you are okay with a late dinner.
no subject
Oh man, an hour and a half...
[Her stomach audibly grumbles, and she looks embarrassed for a moment before laughing.]
Well, at least it'll be worth the wait if it works out.
[She says as she's slowly preparing the various vegetables. Her chopping is clumsy, but at least nothing extra is ending up in there.]
no subject
[She is! She's standing slightly closer than normal, too. But that's probably nothing to read into, right? It sure does make it more noticeable when Morgiana's stomach also rumbles, though.]
no subject
[Chie. Chie pls.]
no subject
[Chie pls indeed.]
no subject
Mm, okay.
[Still not seeing the problem, but at least Morgiana is keeping her on track.]
Okay, the veggies are chopped and ready. So I guess now we just... add them one by one? And then find something to do for an hour and a half?
[Growl growl goes the tummy.]
no subject
[There was a period of relative silence as vegetables were added in the proper order. Then it was just watching the pot simmer.
Morgiana stared at it as her hand went to rest on her stomach. She was hungry as hell and this was already starting to smell good. Did she really want to wait an hour and a half?]
...hm.
no subject
...Hm.
[Chie echoes that brief hum as well, staring at the pot for a few long moments before looking back at Morgiana.]
Takeout?
no subject
...Takeout.
no subject
How about curry? There's a new Calderan place I've been dying to try. I hear they have huge portions.
no subject
[Morgiana could pack away a lot of food, despite being kind of tiny. All the strength needs a lot of fuel, after all.]
And we'll have leftover stew for the rest of the week.
no subject
[Chie is practically yelling into the Warp Band.]
With extra meat!
[Taking her money out, she counts it briefly.]
I'll tip double if it's here in twenty minutes!
no subject
But on the other hand, food.]
That should definitely get it here quickly.
no subject
Ahaha... y-yeah. I might've gotten a little carried away there. But curry! I haven't had it since the Fire Festival!
[Someone is in an exceptionally good mood now, between the delicious smells that are starting to fill the air from their stovetop and the anticipation of an equally delicious meal delivered to their door soon. Laughing happily, she flops onto the couch, leaving room for Morgiana to join her if she wants.]
no subject
She might not be the classiest girlfriend all the time, but she sure was attractive.]
no subject
[Chie hums happily as Morgiana leans against her, adjusting her position just slightly to cuddle up a little. Her stomach tamed for the moment, in place of the grumbling from earlier she lets out a relaxed sigh. And since she's feeling so good right now, she reaches over for Morgiana's hand, lightly lacing her fingers with hers.]
This is a good night already.
no subject
[Hand holding and cuddling are a go. Morgiana didn't say anything else for a minute, in favor of just looking at Chie.]
no subject
[Chie turns her head to look back, blushing lightly as she looks back into her eyes. They're definitely getting into a good mood here. She squeezes her hand a bit as her face begins to inch closer.]
no subject
no subject
...That was really nice.
no subject
[She smiled very very slightly.]
I also thought it was nice, though.
no subject
[Chie is completely over the moon right now. Leaning over, she kisses Morgiana back properly.]
no subject
[She was taken off guard by that. When the broke apart she started shaking with barely restrained giggling.]
no subject
[It seems that the laughter is contagious as Chie cuddles back up.]
You kinda surprised me with the first one, so I guess now we're even.
no subject
[Morgiana wrapped her arms around Chie and (carefully) squeezed her tight.]
no subject
I love-
[And hey, there's the doorbell.]
-curry!
[...Technically also true.]
no subject
[And just like that the mood was ruined. Morgiana's stomach helped her out by reminding her that while kissing was good, dinner was still also good.]
Oh yes, curry.
no subject
I can't wait! This place is supposed to be great.
[Leaping up and heading to the door, Chie eagerly pays the driver - large tip included - and turns back to Morgiana with two big bags of takeout in tow.]
Let's eat!
no subject
Let's eat.
no subject
To us.
no subject
[Morgiana reflected on how she was just repeating Chie as she drank. Then there was a moment of silence as they both gave their food their full attention.]
Mmph. This is good. I think next time we should go for the spicier one, though.
no subject
[Chie's just shy of talking with her mouth full, but she does manage to chew and swallow between responses. Her hunger can be a terrible thing.]
Well, maybe not too spicy.
[Ice type and all, but she's game for it. Eventually, she starts slowing down a bit as her initial ravenous appetite is slowly sated.]
I'm really glad we took today off training to spend at home like this, Morgiana.
no subject
[She hesitated, before continuing.]
Before the curry showed up, I think you were about to say something...
no subject
[Chie's smile softens as she blushes a bit, setting her fork down and taking a breath. She wants to do this right - not with a mouth full of food, and looking at Morgiana straight on. And even though she's pretty sure the sentiment she's about to express is shared, she still sounds a little nervous as she's saying it.]
...I love you, Morgiana.
no subject
[She had been pretty sure what was coming, but actually hearing it left her tongue tied even so.]
That is, *ahem* I love you too.
no subject
All right!
[Grinning from ear to ear, she picks her fork back up, twirling it in her hand.]
Then let's finish this curry so we can get back to cuddling!
no subject
[Morgiana dug in, looking serious.
The rest of the evening was cute. Too goddamn cute. Seriously, mind your own business people.]
