Ribbit No. 001 | Action
[There is a rather large Froakie -- and perhaps with a greener tinge than is ordinary, for those familiar with the species -- looking up at the Agricultural Tower. He's staring up at it, with a sheathed Honedge in hand. It's... well, it's bigger than he is tall.]
[Frog stares up at it for a moment, before he sighs.]
How does one hope to get food out of that?
[The question is to everyone and no one at once. This is no ordinary Froakie, either. He's wearing a dark brown cloak. And... armor. After a moment, though, a fly floats by. Until his tongue whips out, and he eats it.]
[Crunch.]

Lucca wanders up with a grin on her face.]
Well, you grow food inside it. And then take it out?
no subject
Aye, it... seems simple enough. It is for sale, then?
[That could be a problem.]
no subject
Sale, yeah. It's for sale. But you might be better off getting food from a restaurant.
Want me to show you? There's a great Calderan shop just around the way.
no subject
Aye, that would be good. I haven't had food that didn't come from the marsh in more days than I care to name.
[He means bugs. He eats bugs.]
no subject
[She turns and heads towards the next street, setting an easy pace for the two of them. She gets what you mean, dude.]
Do I...know you from somewhere? You seem kinda familiar somehow.
no subject
[He's following, quiet as ever (and that's not new; Glenn was a quiet boy, too). But, he turns and looks at her after a moment's thought.]
[It feels cruel to admit the truth.]
Do I remind you of someone?
no subject
[She shoves her hands into her pockets, thinking.]
Your voice sounds familiar, I guess. I dunno.
no subject
T'was thanks to him that I learned all I know and met Masamune.
no subject
What was this man named?
no subject
[A moment's hesitation. His trusted friend had a few -- nicknames, mostly, when they were just street rats.
Plausible deniability in case he's ever applied for I mean what.]But... in the Battalion, some of his comrades called him Sir Cyrus. You knew of him?
spinning yarn!
[She had respected him greatly. He'd been a hero, in a way, a figure even the smartass Lucca looked up to.]
You knew him? Where from? He's...been missing for some time now. I was...actually my detachment went looking for him and his squad after they went missing.
we'll make a sweater!!
[Frog's hand moves, idly, to Masamune's hilt. Then, he pulls the Honedge -- sheath and all -- up to demonstrate to Lucca.]
...He and his squadron fell in battle with the magus. I witnessed it with mine own eyes.
no subject
[Lucca watches the blade, curious...though something dances in her eyes. Recognition, maybe?]
You were there? You...were with his squad?
no subject
[And he wasn't a Froakie.]
no subject
[Lucca stops. The thing in her hand, probably a bag, drops to the ground.]
I remember you. Holy...hells, what happened?!
no subject
[He frowns, but nods at her.]
I snuck away after. And recovered Masamune.
no subject
[Lucca looks down at him, and offers her hand out.]
I'm sorry, Glenn. That's...I don't really even know what to say. But if there's something I can do, I'll help. I mean, I'll find a way to undo this.
no subject
It's not you that owes me an apology, Lucca -- and nor would I accept one from the magus. I won't deny you, if your work might help... but there is one certain way to make this right.
[He motions to Masamune, with his hand.]
no subject
Yeah. He has to be stopped. I...hell, I'm going to be with you when you do. Nobody gets away with turning someone I like into a Pokemon.
[But...]
But, should I still call you Glenn? Is that what you want?
no subject
Mm. Glenn died that day, too, I think. I've taken the name Frog, instead.
[ribbit]
It fits.
THAT ICON HAH!
Well, then let me get you some Calderan grub. You got a place to stay? I assume you mean to base out of Union.
It's perfect somehow.
Aye, I found a domicile. It's... [It's a hole in the forest. Does he say this? It sounds terrible. But it's comfortable.]
...'tis something that suits my needs, in this new form.
no subject
Food though, you have a preference?
no subject
[He can't suggest bugs. Nope.]
no subject
no subject
[serious frog is serious]
no subject
[That was weird to say, but hey, you know? She'd get used to it.]
no subject
You have my thanks, Lucca.
[Not just for the food, but... the rest. For understanding. Frog starts walking/hopping, sliding Masamune back over his shoulder.]
no subject
ooc: hope you don't mind, food threads :(]

[ And Tendou's just going to walk into the Agricultural Tower without an invitation. He does that. ]
no subject
[Frog hops after, a little cautiously.] They might think us rogues.
no subject
[ He smirks, already knowing the answer to that question. ]
You have nothing to worry about. They are far too busy to worry about a couple of visitors.
...dreamwidth notifications failed me D:
[He stares up at it.] Then let us look. Your name? They call me... Frog.
[Hey it works.]
no subject
[ He points up to the sky, explaining the meaning of his name most literally. ]
Tendou Souji. Now then, Frog, let us sally forth!
no subject
...I see. I am a simple warrior, nothing more.
[He can roll with it. Grand proclamations are nothing.]
Lead the way. I will guard the rear.
no subject
[ But he doesn't probe further. He knows all he needs to for now, and is more than happy to leave it at that. ]
I'm not sure what you'll need to guard us from, but feel free.
[ He pushes open the doors to the tower and steps inside. The front of the ground floor is dedicated to reception, deliveries, and wholesalers. There aren't any farms yet, just a lot of people bringing boxes of vegetables around. ]
no subject
[She's all set to launch into a detailed explanation, since this confused her too, but then he snaps up that fly.]
Er...*ahem*
Are you sure that's going to be a problem for you, sir?
no subject
Aye, 'tis a way to feed myself... but I'll need many and more flies to truly feel satiated. 'Tis better to enjoy a hearty meal, is it not?
no subject
At any rate, however, getting food from the agricultural tower to a plate is a long process that usually involves several people. It's best to seek out a friend or a restaurant who will prepare the food for you.
no subject
[The Froakie frowns. He isn't happy about that.]
Aye, 'tis better to have a restaurant, then. Or to have it cooked. I haven't cooked in a time.
no subject
[She thinks]
I can't say I've ever cooked, myself. I take it you started as a human, then, and not a Froakie.

I'm still not quite certain what caused it, but one day I could take the shape of a human girl. I took it as an opportunity to journey here and learn what the humans of Union might know about the situation.
